I tried making my own texture pack, complete with a pack.txt, pack.png, and terrain.png. Zip it up, put it into the folder just fine. But no go. It didn't work; when I loaded single player it was the default graphics. And in the texture pack selector, it didn't show the text or the picture I had in the zip.
If it helps at all, I'm running downloaded on a Mac.
Ya I'm having the same problem, I have all my files directly packs with all the necessary stuff but it wont show up in the texture list on the main menu.
