This is a texture pack that uses Tronic as a base, with custom icons from Frenden's Texture Pack and a round sun and moon from the Painterly Pack. The original Tronic is dead, so this project is an unofficial continuation (since I couldn't find the author) I made this variant to fix certain issues that existed in the earlier Tronic texture pack (like wool blocks being difficult to differentiate from iron blocks), and many other things have been changed besides. Major changes include teal water, peach clay, round sun and moon, improvements to block textures so you can tell them apart, new icons for Beta 1.2 items, and improved underwater vision and night vision compared to default textures. Included is a version with invisible armor so you can see players' skins. Installation instructions and changelog included in the package.

Hey, there's a bug in the texture pack and my brick and gold textures are all messed up!
The bug is you, because you thought you knew better than I do how to install the texture pack. You have somehow stumbled your way through life blissfully ignorant of the existence of a thing called a Readme, and the necessity of following instructions.
Credits:
- Terrain and mob textures from the original Tronic texture pack
- Item icon textures from Frenden's Texture Pack.
- Round Sun and Round Moon textures from Painterly Pack.
- Thanks to Shamus03 for providing custom fire, water, lava, and portal textures, as well as the Connected Textures Mod texture slab.
- All other textures (including the new textures since Beta 1.2 of Minecraft) are the work of Desi Quintans (http://www.desiquintans.com).
- Sprites appearing on the paintings are taken from popular NES games, and belong to their respective creators.
this pack doesn't seem to be working even with the HD patcher.. it thinks its a 16x16 pack for some reason..
Are you unpacking the .zip it comes in to get the texture packs inside, or did you put the whole thing into your textures folder? The distributable is a .zip that contains two texture packs inside it, and it's these ones which you actually use.
I really like it!!! It's a great "successor" to the old Tronic.
But are the bricks supposed to look like a mix of random blocks? Or did I install it wrong?
Gold blocks and bricks are glitched with flame and other such things and you can see through the blocks. Also, netherrack is the default water. How do you fix this?
Hi, I'm having just one problem with this texture pack (love it btw), and thats the clock. For some reason, the clock is showing up in-game as it does in the items.png file, with the middle still just pink instead of the sun/moon. I ran the HD texture fix, and it appears to have worked fine, so I'm really unsure as to what is causing this. Im on Mac OSX, which possibly could be a problem I suppose, but I have yet to find someone in a forum with the same issue as me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh hi! I didn't know I had so many replies. Thanks for the feedback, everybody!

You didn't read the readme, and you didn't run the HD Texture Patcher. Or, Minecraft was running, so the patcher didn't do its job properly.

What gave you the impression that the original Tronic has been abandonned other than you can't contact the author? It was updated to the latest version (1.2) and all bricks and mobs have perfect textures.
Hmm. The Tronic site says that he updated on the 14th of January, but when I looked at the website on the 20th and 21st, there was no such update there. I could be wrong, or my browser was pulling the page from my cache, or the author might have retroactively dated the update, but that's the reason why I assumed it was abandoned.

as far as I'm concerned o.a. the water colour, the bricks and the birch tree stem are a step back, what makes the original Tronic great is it's simplicity, the details on the bricks and the birch are detrimental to that
I actually wasn't happy about there being a birch tree, for exactly that reason of too much detail. With the pine trees I was able to just give it darker bark, but if I had made birch trees completely white it would only have confused people. The brick is a concession to people on my other forum who didn't like the original Tronic bricks, because it just looked like red cobblestone. People would see a brick block and say, "What the heck is that?"

It's possible that I need to convert the watch's texture to 32x32 as well. There is an issue with HD Texture Patcher not being able to support the compass needle, but I think the watch glitch is probably my own oversight. I'll fix it up tonight, pinky promise!
Hey, I love this pack, love it, only thing I don't love, not being able to have custom paintings.
So i've tried just opening the pack, editing the kz file and re-ziping it, and then patching it that way, and it just crashes on me, thats the only solution i can think of considering altering the original kz file doesnt do jack.
Is there any way I can have this pack and not those paintings?? I would love you even harder.

To use default paintings, just delete the art/ directory from the .zip. To use custom paintings, editing the kz.png file should have worked, as long as you keep the resolution at 32x32 and save it as a PNG. There's nothing forcing my kz.png to be loaded specifically, or anything.

I had a look at this and tried resizing the watch dial texture, tried playing with the transparency of the watch, and tried repatching Minecraft using the fixed textures. The watch still refuses to work, and this is probably a bug in the HD Texture Patcher that was reintroduced after a Minecraft update.

Here is some bacon! [Bacon]
Good work.
Does the original Tronic even have a post?
