Calm Down, Give the Dr. some time, she's currently in London.
Also if you think your so high and mighty that you can barge in here and not respect the Dr. , Why don't you update the pack yourself with your own textures? Huh? Can't do it?
Look, the whole reason we're pleading for him to update it to 1.6.6, is because we CAN'T do it by ourselves. That's pure respect right there, and it seems you misjudged it. Otherwise we wouldn't be here, and we WOULD be updating it by ourselves, alright? Keep it down and just say "She's in london" every time somebody asks. :l
Anyway, why are you her personal servant, or something? If your her friend, then show some dignity.

What he's trying to say, is stop acting like children, these texture makers have real lives outside of making minecraft textures.
It doesn't matter how many times you cry "UPdatez zem textawz!" the simple fact is, she will do it when she damn well wants to.
If you are that desperate, maybe you could LEARN how to use the textures that already exist, and make the missing ones.
EG:
- Trapdoor = top of normal wood door
- Notch's wildgrass = Custom Wildgrass
- fern/desert trees = recoloured saplings.
- Map = paper with blue/green blob on it
thats really all that's missing... if you don't know how to use a simple image editing program, then sorry, but maybe you could learn? its not hard... Paint.Net is a good place to start (for windows) or GIMP

...snip...
What's wrong with fern/desert trees? What am I missing there?
So far I've fixed for myself..
- Stray pixel on torch, that was a annoying one
- Spruce sapling had a whole line of pixels on top, I removed.
- Stray pixel(s) on full grown wheat.
I need to do trap door and wildgrass next, I have no interest in the maps.
I'm just sad to know that when Dr. K comes back she will have to read through this bickering and whining. She deserves better for having made the best texture pack on this entire website.
Some of you may have noticed my post earlier with the hatch I made. That took me all of 10 mins. All I did was take the top half of the door shoved some glass in it. Sadly, while tinkering with some client side mods, I accidentally deleted the texture pack with my modifications.
Incedently, I am having some issues trying to get an HD pack to work with client side mods. I am going to do some research on the forums but if anyone happens to know a quick fix I would appreciate the help. It seems to have something to do with the Minecraft-1.6.6.jar created by the MCPatcher.

I tried that, but my GIMP skills are sadly lacking. I tried using the top half of the door, but did you notice it being smaller than the hatch? I managed to strecth to fit. Anyways, I messed up somewhere along the way and ruined it all. I need more cut and paste practice I suppose.
I just got back from London this past Saturday. I sincerely apologize for not updating before leaving. It was my full intention to have everything done before leaving so you guys wouldn't have to wait yet ANOTHER week for the update. Things got VERY crazy before I left what with me having to go out of town the week before E3 (the game I had been working on was going to be announced, so yeah a little nuts). ^^; Not to mention that this trip was very important to me personally.
But that aside, I'm carving out time tonight to update, but I just wanted to go ahead and leave a message for you guys. Thank you for being patient. I really appreciate it!

thanks for the letting us know Ashley :biggrin.gif: seriously E3(and your job) is much more important/awesome than updating a minecraft texture pack, most of the impatient ppl are undeserving of the pack anyway. I hope E3 went well for the game your working on, seeing its all over now can you say what the game is? Also did you work on duke? love gearbox's stuff! keep up the great work looking forward to the update.

Hey thanks!
And yes I can finally talk about the game I'm on. I'm on the Brothers in Arms:Furious 4 team (I did get to help out with the E3 demo). Unfortunately, I didn't get to work on Duke. It was pretty much done by the time I was hired. :tongue.gif:
@Rural_cdn Yes, I noticed that as well. The best way to make sure that things stay the proper size is to use the bounding box to select one of the terrain blocks exactly, down to the pixel, (I find that a 600 % zoom makes the pixels viable) and copy the block into a new project. With photoshop the new project will be automatically sized to the block you copied so that you now have a working space that is exactly the size you need. I have no idea if this works with GIMP however. I downloaded it once but really didn't like the GUI.
@Dr. K it is good to see you back, I did not realize that you actually worked for Gearbox, that is awesome. I fell in love with the Borderlands look the first time I played it. I am attempting to break into computer animation field specifically gaming. If you need any help with this texture pack don't be afraid to ask.

First of all welcome back! Secondly, I'm jealous of your job.. Just a little :tongue.gif:
Finally, if you manage the update tonight, I look forward to it when I get home from work around midnight ur time :biggrin.gif: if it's not done then ima have to hunt you down! Nah just kidding :tongue.gif:
Yay! now my OCD checking of your blog/thread can end! lol cheers Dr.K you are nothing short of amazing
update: stray pixels on wheat and torches (full grown and side mounted) nothing i cant fix myself just thought id let you know, using x64 version not sure if the other has them still.
Sweet! Only 3 more hours and I'll be home to enjoy the BorderLands goodness! lol....
One little niggle... Is there a reason you don't update the terrain.png on the OP? As it's pretty out of date, I think it may go back as far as 1.2-1.3 or something.
It's just I'm at work, and wanna see the changes already haha..
Nah true reason is so others can see what all the textures look like before they download. Especially the newer ones.
I know I often rely on the samples in the OP to choose wether I like the look of a pack, so if I can't see what things such as trapdoors, extra plants, pistons (1.7) etc look like, as well as the main textures (grass, stone, wood, sand) I'll usually pass.
I'm going to download this anyway though as I know this is quality.
So glad to see this updated! Love the new long grass!
I see you've made some other changes as well! Lava looking different, and the water looks amazing! Somehow, its easier to see through, even though its darker!
GO YOGNAUTS.

I will download this immediately.
A side note I have started working on my own texture pack and I would appreciate input once I have enough to post a WIP page.

Good job on the update! Downloaded straight away :biggrin.gif:
