The fire is drawn algorithmically, in code. There is not a texture you can edit.
Man that sucks, but that doesn't mean it is impossible I guess. I mean that code has to use specific colors as references, right? After all the fire is always the same colors.
But meh, I doubt it would be easy to find or change the fire code, so thanks anyway. :smile.gif:
Hi, it's not in the codes, so what the other guy said is COMPLETE bullcrap, all you need is the MCpatcher mod, and a texture pack that has a Custom_Fire.png inside of it. You are free to make something like that if you want, it works just like the 16x16 blocks that are provided, so 16 pixels wide x 16x (x being however long the animation should be)
it's best to have long animations though, which is really hard to make... the good ones can be up to 1536 pixels long.
I wish you luck on this pursuit... my minecraft however, does have a custom fire... it's very cool :smile.gif:
Well now i feel stupid, xau created mcpatcher :tongue.gif: lol
Anyway, what i described above is true, you just need to find a suitable custom_fire.png

I'm sure it's really simple but maybe I'm just having an off day.
Basically I just want to change the fire to blue. Nothing complex, just a recolor.
Yeah so everything is blue. The top parts that are white are simply the stuff that floats off of the fire.
Edit: And the fire there on the bottom is the torch effect. Not the "my forest is burning down...again" fire.
