I want to release this texture pack today. My problem right now is I'm feeling very uncertain about my texture for the sandstone blocks, so I'm looking for opinions.
I want to keep the game's default design of having bricks/blocks on the sides but a smooth top. I'm happy with the side bricks. The top, though... see, this texture pack is based around the colors of sandstone instead of grey stone. (I started working on this long before Notch suddenly added actual sandstone to the game.) So I made the top slab look like the colorful pinkish/orangish sandstone that I like so much in real life. But is it too much?
What do you people think? Should the sandstone top slab match the rest of the block in color, or is the different color there good?
Well, ok. That all seems mostly positive, so I'll leave it as is for now. Let's see how well the texture works ingame. I can always make an alternate that's all yellow.
