These are the edits for those who like sharp, cartooney effects.
Darerd's Edits is my first texture pack, and will probably be my only one. It takes the simple joy of having sharp, contrasting colors with a hint of noise as well as some non-tiling piece-of-crap images to make the textures that are unique from other texture packs.
Change log:
2.1: Made compatible with Beta 1.3, nothing special except that I added noise to all the textures I wanted.
2.0: Scary spiders, stinky squids, and armor has finally been added. Did minor changes to other things, torches look much better now.
1.3: Done dye, done most mobs. I really like the new eyes I gave them...
1.2: Works with Beta 1.2 but no dye yet.
1.1: Has correct pack.png for non-crashing, made some mobs
1.0: Finished up the GUI folder, initial release
0.3: Done item and environment folders
0.2: Finished Hal update changes and did some GUI changes
0.1: Created, with terrain.png and the terrain folder done.
Plans for the future:
• Update textures to work with each new content update as soon as possible, preferably less than a day. This bullet will stay here permanently.
• The color for wood is much darker in items.png than in terrain.png. Compensate for this.
• Capture more screenshots, though it may be hard to do for the mobs. The current screenshots I feel are outdated.(If possible, could someone else do this? It would help a lot.)
• Make compatible with various mods(suggestions?).
Looks nice, but I think the chest, workbench, TNT and monster spawner could do with a bit of a touch up!
Multi-coloured clouds(As in, white and gray(Not sure if this is normal or not! :tongue.gif:))? Nice!
The ores look great, and will stand out in the caves for sure!
Signs are epic, and fit together perfectly!
I don't like the torches, because of the black line around the stick part.
Cobblestone and mossy cobble look nice, and will fit in with my castle nicely! xD
That's all I could see from the pictures you posted, I would download it, if I had the internet too!
But my internet sucks at the moment, so I can't!
So yeah.. Keep up the good work, and try improve it to the best of your abilities! + for making a texture pack! I couldn't do this! xD
Thanks for the great feedback! I will probably retexture some things in terrain.png like the torch when I get around to it... right now, I think it's fine.
I just did some of the mobs; pig, sheep, zombie, skeleton, pigzombie(<--spent most time on this one and really like it!).
I might as well make a post in the texture pack list and get it added there...
Alright, this here definitely needs a bump, but I'll add something useful to it.
List of 2.0 changes:
• Added the squid mob. Big eyes of curiosity it has. I made it pink because that's what normal squids look like anyways.
• Added the spider mob, though it took awhile. Big, scary eyes. Brighter fangs. These guys just turned a lot more dangerous physically, so I needed to compensate for that with their appearance.
• Done armor, looks cartooney... just how I like it. The pants, though, don't go over your belly anymore. Needs noise when I get around to it.
• Sandstone looks much better now, and I don't think anyone really noticed it looked bad. Well, food for thought.
• Secret note in items.png. Secret leather stuffs that you can't turn into armour, but you seem to have an infinite amount of it to carry around powder and liquid. :/
• Torches don't have those ugly ridges anymore. Ignore what the screenshots say.
• Added something to the TNT, but it is still really ugly.
• Changed around the sapling a bit, and it's less ugly at least. I really need to do something about that.
• Fixed the furnace progress bar.
Everyone should start replying! I spent months trying to make this, and I really don't want the topic to just die. :sad.gif:
Let me know when you get updated to 1.3. I like your cobblestone and would like to use your texture pack in my let's play series for an episode.
