Does anyone know if there is a method for the current version of minecraft to disable biome shading on grass and leaves? I have tried making the grasscolor and foliagecolor .pngs: transparent, black and white and the color range of my pack's desired grass color, and none of these work.
Thanks in advance.

Unless I'm mistaken, when choosing a texture pack through minecraft itself, it doesn't take the foliage/grasscolor .pngs from the zip file at the moment. You have to go in and manually change them to transparent in the .jar itself.
Hopefully using custom foliage/grasscolors included in packs will be supported soon.

That's odd, I strangely remember that minecraft used to take those .pngs before this recent update.
Oh well then...

1) there's a graphical glitch that wont let me change the top of grass blocks, so the sides are snowy but the tops are lime green
1) Go into your texture pack ZIP.
2) Navigate to your /misc folder.
3) Move grasscolor.png to a temporary folder outside of the ZIP.
4) Delete the gradient, making sure you leave transparency.
5) Place your new grasscolor.png in the /misc folder in the ZIP. 6) Patch Minecraft with the HD Texture fix.
Here, I even made a grasscolor.png image for you!
The technical side: Minecraft overlays certain pixels in grasscolor.png over the grass in terrain.png depending on where you are in a biome. By making the gradient transparent, it will overlay nothing, which means that the grass will be the color that it is in terrain.png everywhere. I didn't overlay with white because I think that'll increase the brightness of the grass.
