Wow, as usual, my pack was on hiatus as I do other hobbies and go to school. Moving to Minecraft Customizer was clearly the best decision I ever made for the pack as I now have almost 10,000 downloads, though how much of that was using only a few textures is unknown. With the new release and I whole bunch of changes to how the textures work, I have to return to this and finish up what I started, or at least do some more. I'm currently catching up, probably have some additions and changes up at the end of the week.
Thanks everyone who downloaded and especially thanks to the three comments!
New screen shot (and technically a bump, but there is alot to show off ant this is more tantalizing):
Red wool is a plaid, and the little dragon motif is dark grey wool. The brick blocks are vertical herringbone, largely because I wanted something with a more rustic feel than standard bond.
Amazing, the cobblestone tiles very well, and is smoother and cleaner than the vanilla version. It may just be me, but it also has a slight, fantasy feel, while retaining some brightness and being easy on the eyes. The GUI's are fantastic, instead of being bland and a solid texture for the furnace, you made it look like an actual one.
The only advice I have is to make the crafting squares tile, it's just nitpicking really, since I hardly look at it.
Two of the finalists give such high praise, I am surprised! Like, Eld, I don't think anyone could touch yours, least of all me. The dithering on your GUIs is lickable. Also, my stone took about 2 dozen different versions to get right, and bedrock is still screwy.
Squids (also known as octopuses, because, seriously, that is an octopus) have a texture now. I based it on a Hawaiian Coconut octopus, because they are a beautiful shade of crimson. Also, I'm editing the first post to give some better description of what has changed around. The Flickr page has the full blow up of the art sheet, btw, which I think warrants some investigation.
If you could get someone to make a mod (similar to the HD texture patcher), that would allow animations for the sun and moon, you could make them spin/rotate, and I believe that would look awesome!
Great job btw!
Thanks for all the interest guys! I'm currently following Eld's lead and doubling the resolution of Ghasts. The Mobs in general have resolutions that are identical to the world's 16 px/block, except the Ghast. The Ghast is 4 blocks wide, but has 8 px/block, hence I am doubling it. I assume this is the rational behind Eld's decision.
Also, Sulphur is being changed to yellow crumbles like the real element and the Creeper will be changed to have chitinous growths of the same. Somewhere in here I have to make the ores not terrible.
Double resulution ghasts, yellow sulphur, and yellow crusted creepers are up. Also, correction: Ghasts are 1/4 resolution by default as they have about 4 px/block. Double resolution brings it to 8px/block. Some experiments are needed to see if more pixels are needed for visual consistency (that is, I have to get close to one!)
WOW, This is one of the best 16p packs I've ever seen. I've just tested for an hour or so and the only thing I really don't like is the dirt (looks like a brown/yellowish gravel to me). Other than that it looks amazing.
Honestly, I came here after seeing Mruqe held your texture pack in high praise. Though your textures appear too busy, or noisy, for my taste, I am truly impressed with the amount of work, effort and thought that went into these textures. Those dye powders are lovely, and I really like that the apples are now potions (Makes more sense, surrounding a potion with gold blocks to make a gold potion... Though, using this, any mod that deals with apples now makes no sense. *Is thinking of TreeDrops* :biggrin.gif: Its sillyness.)
I think the highlight of your pack, however, is your sun and moon. Those are absolutely adorable, what with their 3D effects. I was slackjawed at the new approach to them, and its honestly the subject of my highest praise.
Your mobs are sleek, and that creeper is downright creepy. :wink.gif:
I also adore what you've gone and done with Cloth. They're truly decorative blocks now, instead of colorful blobs of Wool.
Your Hotbar and Health/Armor displays are quite visually appealing, though. I really love the transparency in the hotbar.
I must say, the Obsidian blocks seem a bit too noisy. I know I said most of your textures are a bit too noisy for my tastes, but the Obsidian has the worst of it. Perhaps if you reduced the noise slightly? Though I do like the odd tiling the noise gives it, its a tad distracting.
I like that you went with something thats not bricks for brick, shows a little originality, though I'm not personally too keen on herringbone. If you do want something thats a bit rustic, why not try bricks something like this?
Schoolwork is keeping me from putting up fresh screens, but the latest version that is up has actually good iron, gold, and coal ore and revamped dirt. i'm afraid it is even more gravely, but I intend to work on both next.

Get it here.
Very nice...
Downloading!

Thanks for the compliments, though my interfaces are nothing compared to Eld's. His pixeling is epic.

Have some diamond blocks!
