Ok thanks ALOT for that, it works now.
Just wondering you got a server you play that I can join?
Great! Sorry I don't have any servers to suggest. I never play on servers. There's lots of great ones though, search around a bit and you'll find one that suits you I'm sure.

One thing I've noticed while looking through items.png is that there's style variation between the items. For example, the tools, fish, meat, and wheat (to name a few) are done without outlines, while others like the buckets and ingots have dark outlines. Are those just not done?
Oh yes, and one other thing: Would it be possible to get a square sun/moon alternative? I like the pack but I really enjoy a square moon comparable to say, Xenocontendi's.
That's a good point about the item style. That never crossed my mind. I know the items were added after doku stopped working on the RPG pack, and now Shadounnet has taken over the 32p version. The icons are consistent across all the RPG packs. I'm sure it'd anger some folks if I started messing with the original content - I'm just trying to keep it updated, not make large changes. Although now that you've mentioned it it'll probably start getting on my nerves. I'll bring it up with the board of directors.
I'm not planning on having different 'flavors' of packs for download, I'm going to leave the sun & moon as they are to keep up the RPG tradition. But if you want a different moon or sun it's very easy for you to do that on your own. You can open the zip and remove the moon.png and sun.png out of the "terrain" folder. Then you'll have the default sun and moon. You can also swap those png files for different ones if you find a pack with a sun & moon that you prefer.

My vote is "Let's do it."
I look at it like this. Editing the items so that they have more defined outlines will only increase the quality and consistency of the pack. If anyone else wanted to use the items in this version they'd be welcome to them.

To be honest, I much prefer the non-outlined ones. They might not look at refined in the inventory GUI, however in one's hands they're much more tool-like as opposed to the Eld style of "I'm holding a cardboard cutout!" And plus, I think they look good in the inventory as well.

Well, you have a valid point there. Maybe we could still do it, but release two versions of the pack? Or we could just include the alternate items.png inside the archive and let the user decide, it's not like it's a pain to change over.

This sounds like a happy compromise. I vote to include the non-outlined pack as the default items.png because distinguishing style choice between the two items.png designs is most prominently represented through the tools.
Actually I'm almost finished the items.png and one of the things I did was outline the fish and meat, paper, bone, etc. I'll have this done tonight. I'm trying to make it as consistent as possible. I'd never outline the weapons though. Their details are so perfectly chosen that they would look completely different if you outlined them. I think outlining everything except the weapons is visually the best thing to do, which is what we're here for right? Really the inventory screen has a dark background so its nothing to worry about.

While the many screenshots you've provided are nice, they aren't big enough to show enough detail. Please provide larger pictures.

Yes sir, will do.
I'm particularly fond of the subtlety that having item designs without outlines brings - I would much prefer it if everything had the visual consistency of the items. If you don't deem it fit to do so as an alternative I might take a crack at it (with your permission, of course).
Been playing with this pack all day and really like what you've done. Very nice work.
I do notice that the sidegrass on the blocks doesn't always match the full grass color, but it isn't a jarring shift. Not sure whether that's something you can address or not.
Regardless, love it. Bookmarked and looking forward to future updates.

By all means, the more the merrier! I'm sorta with you on this one, I'd love to see what a non-outlined version of these items would look like. I just don't want to get into doing different flavors for different tastes, so at the end of the day whichever looks better in most situations in game will make the cut.

Yeah you'll have to take that up with the Minecraft developers. When they created biomes they didn't extend those colour changes to the side of the grass. Lots of people complain. I complain. It looks stupid.
1.5 UPDATE:
- Just finished the new icons. Most of the appropriate ones have been outlined. I didn't outline a few of them because I thought they work better as a more realistic non-outlined object. Like the seeds, and the stick. Things that need to look realistic-ish in game.
- Also changed the top & front of the trap texture (used the 32p version, it looks great).
- I've updated the to-do list on the front page. If anyone wants to spearhead any of those initiatives, just let me know and I'll add your name to the item in the list (no point having multiple folk working on the same thing). Not much there though, I'll keep working through the items.
Well this sucks. I spend a long time on the new items and now that I see them in action I hate them. The outlined objects feel cartoonish and silly. I completely agree with Galago, all the items should be not outlined. Or at least outlined only subtlety (like the original fish etc.). For the next release I'm going back to the original icons, and I'm eventually going to redo them entirely. Galago, if you do start work on the icons can you post your progress as you do it so we don't waste hours by doing the same work twice?
I really like this, it has a perfect level of contrast between shades (not too dark, not too bright, though it definitely can be bright or dark depending). Its taking me a long time to get that perfect balance on my pack!
I will definitely try this when I am not too busy tinkering with my own stuff!
P.S. I love the moon, may motivate me to make something similar.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the icons/items? Normally to use the standard ones i just delete the file, which i did, but they didnt go away. Help?
When you put a pumpkin on your head, for some reason it's flipped around. Not really a big problem though, because you can only see it if you go into third person. I love this texture pack btw.

To-Do List
· Custom art pack that has that RPG feel
That thing about older maps is a marvelous idea. Also, it HAS to have the banners. If you don't know what I mean check out these screen shots:
I use banners in all my custom art packs. Maybe you could make better ones, I dunno. But I think you should focus not just on tapestries, maps, and banners, but also art pieces like this:
I love this, for the simple fact that it adds a wonderful dash of medieval to the game. Maybe have a few of the art pieces gargoyles?
...I think Ill work on a custom pack of my own and post the results soon.

I'm not a pixel artist whatsoever but I guess I'll try. Here's my attempt at the bread and book:
I bulked the bread up a bit in the process but I don't think that's too much of a harm.

I really like this idea. Old maps, hanging banners, medieval tapestry, and some misc. decorations like gargoyle knockers.
Oh, and here's my take on the soup:
