just add another download link man, its allot easier!
Alright, will do. I'll put a download link in the downloads area.

Hello,
When I use this Grafikpack (and some other too) there is a huge noise effect (many black Pixxel) on higher distance while near Blocks looks great!
This happens with all resolutions of this grafikpack, but the higher the resolution is, the higher is this noise effect, too.
This Picture i made with the 256Pack .. i hope you can see what i mean:
-image-
I hope, somebody had an idea whats the problem and can help me ...
Unfortunately that's a consequence with higher resolution packs. The lack of texture filtering in this game creates a fairly bad noise effect which I've learned to just get used to. =/
I know of the issue and I can't make it "smoother" without losing extreme amounts of detail.

Have you tried the mipmap mod? It might help. I tried finding it, but without search, fail.
Hey Adriorn! =)
I have and it worked great up and even increased my FPS until the 1.3 update a month ago. Now my computer just refuses to cooperate with it and it drops my frames to around 2-3 if I'm lucky. =/
Don't get me wrong here, many of people have it running great and I'm jealous of them. XD
just do what I did..make the spec map for one of them that works best and use it for all of them.
Yea that ends up making some really weird looking bumps. I do end up using the same general technique on all of them (have 4 or 5 adjustment layers over the normal multiplyed by the original) but the values of those adjustment layers have to change for each wool, since their range of values can be larger or smaller from color to color. Trust me though, I have a few of them looking pretty nice actually (not too glow in the dark-ish).
Wow, the 64x64 almost looks better than the 256x256 when comparing those screenshots. @[email protected]
I might have to look into modding in 256x256 tools, but keeping a low-res terrain for higher FPS
Anyway, yea the mipmapping is an unfortunate issue. Think it's related to my glass texture, or the mod itself?
For the time being the wolves are decent, but when I start fixing them up some more or even making HD ones I'd be delighted to join your server to exploit your wolves. =D
The author says it's due to Notch using Alpha testing for Glass.
Not positive as to what that means, but I'm fairly certain that isn't fixable on your end.

Dufric88, how's the map progressing? Any idea on how long it will take?
Hi Xeonis, I've been a bit sparse on these forums due to schoolwork (mostly my senior programming project). I'm trying to get enough done before end of April so I can go to the Boston Anime Con. I'm not a HUGE anime nerd, but I have an awesome homemade deadmau5 costume that the world needs to see ^x_x^
But I still have full intention of finishing my work with "bumpmapping" this pack. I have a really good process down now which has made progress a lot faster, but there are still some textures that take a lot of thought and time due to how the mod reads them (like tracks, glass, torches). I don't want to just crank something out that isn't as nice as the texture pack itself, because anybody could do that (well not anybody but you get what I mean). So no I don't

I'm not recommending you try this unless you are an experienced modder, but Daxnitro's GLSL shader mod offers Anti-Aliasing functional up to MSAA16x which really smooths out the grainyness. There's still some left over, but it's noticeably better. That and the mip-mapping mod, if you can get it either of them to work, will really improve your quality of play and your eyes will thank you.
Scuttles!
Noooooeezz! I misseded your birfday =( and i didn't even get you your present yet, I'm the worst Happy Belated tho! I'm gonna try to post up some progress later, but with the length youtube takes for HD we might not see it till tomorrow. 40K view btw....it's kinda surreal, check the video statistics though, all the traffic is coming from here =)
EDIT: also, if you google minecraft and bumpmap, my vid is the 2nd video result =O
Awesome, bumpmapping is awesome.
Sadly the GLSL Shaders on 1.4 only work if I have bumpmapping files in my texture pack, and then it doesn't give me the bumpmapping effect. .__.
------------------------------------------------
Also, bumping my Misa's HD Font Only link in-case anyone is sick of the default font. http://www.sundergaming.com/littlebeetle/misahdfont.zip
BTW, I'm getting a new domain in a few weeks.
Broke right now, but I'll get it as soon as I get the cash.
It's awesome, quite a bit shorter too. :-)

Wow, 40k now? I think Youtube actually pays you after you reach 1 million views. It was something like a minimum of 4k USD.
Haha, nice. Googled it. ^^

It might be because he's using alpha channels instead of allowing transparencies on the glass textures.

haha you said awesome twice in a sentence of 4 words. awesome.
And you always had to put the normal and specular files in with the texture pack o_o I do it manually. I save my work to a folder, but I keep the minecraft jar open in winrar, and drag the updated files into it and restart mc.

Well, no. I can put them directly into the minecraft.jar as well.
The point was GlSL requires me to have the files even if I don't have a shader that has bumpmapping...
Then it doesn't give me the effect... and still kills my FPS.
Ah, phantom is probably right with the partnership. Some of those video channels have to be making a killing off of Youtube... 6+ billion views on Machinima alone.

Yeah, I'm going to if I ever get the site up.
Right now the site itself is a crappy blog.
I'm no web designer.
Not that advertisements would help too much, since a majority of people now-a-days use Adblock Plus.
I do believe that is the issue. Couldn't someone make a mod to change that?
I've visited the actual site a total of 3 times now. ^^
I'm no web designer either, sorry. =(
Pwned has been working on a mod that allows glass transparencies and I haven't looked to see how his progress was going, but last I knew the only issue was clouds and water wasn't visible through the glass.
scuttles could you please put up a tutorial for installing this texture pack and all the mods (like wild grass) with it? I tried to follow the directions you posted many times but I cant seem to get the bump mapping to work.

I have no knowledge of installing the bumpmapping, unfortunately. That would be dufric or anyone else experienced in that area.

Ok I'm a bit confused now. Just an fyi, the MC patcher never copied the alternate texture files into your minecraft.jar you always had to do it manually. Since as far back as when I started using the shader mod at least.
What does it actually do if you enable something like the cartoony/waving wheat shader (ie anything without bump mapping in the .vsh/.fsh)? I guess I'm wondering how it "requires" you to have the files there.

It works fine... it just doesn't show bumpmapping.
If I try to start it without the files (not using a bumpmapping shader) it just closes my game.
This is the error I get.

So you can't start it using any other shader? ? That is the weirdest thing. When I update to 1.4 I'll try to remember to get back to you on my findings, until then I'd suggest patrolling the GLSL thread.
Scuttles: btw, did you ever mess with those outstanding pixels in pink wool I had mentioned? If you do a global exposure adjustment on that texture you'll see what I mean. It turns out I had the offset of my exposure layer up by .0025 which definitely amplified the problem. So it's not a mandatory adjustment, especially since the texture is fine without specular.
ok, i'm confused now.... WtF is bump mapping and mipmapping??
Bumpmapping makes textures have depth... it makes them, POP.
Mipmapping makes close textures stream at full size, and further textures stream at lower resolutions.
Which solves the noise and will even improve FPS.
