I build with logs/planks a lot, and I really like your pack apart from the logs. You wouldn't happen to have a viable alternate that brings back some of the tiling goodness of the default logs would you?
Long time reader, first time poster! Let me first say good job to Scuttles, love the texture pack, it works and looks great! I do have a problem though with the wild grass mod. It "works" for me (using newest version 11.5.1) but uses the original grass textures. I can't seem to get the custom textures from the pack to work. I do realize that the last few versions of wild grass utilized textures separate from the "terrain.png", and *think* this may have to do with the problems I'm having. Has anyone that has gotten the x256 pack to work with wild grass willing to point a poor noob in the right direction? Help!
it was working on the last test build of wild grass..but I can't get the newest release to work at all :sad.gif: would suggest waiting for the final release for it.
I use the mc patcher to install the texture pack, and I use the 256 version.
Also I would include the error message but I don't know how to input the huge block of text with the scroll bars so it doesn't fill up the whole page...
That's interesting. I'm not sure as to how I would approach doing this, but I certainly could give it a try.
Welcome aboard Git. =)
As Grugsy said, I'd wait for a more stable release. I'm unfamiliar with any of his new releases beyond the one for 1.3_01. XD
Must have gotten buried amongst my conversation with TheArcher. =\
As for the proposal... I'll have to pass for the time being. I know it's a pain with the search function not, well, functioning and all, but I'll keep it as a simple thread as of right now.
I will keep that in mind, though. ^^
That's odd... I've heard that the new beta 2.0 patcher does results like that. I'll eventually delve into those things, but I'm awaiting a stable release as I have far too many mods installed and I'm lazy. XD
The error message would certainly help. Post it here in this format:
The error message simply goes between the ][
Hmmm. Was this on a fresh install of Minecraft because I've had that error before and a clean install fixed it.
Other than that, it seems like an issue with Minecraft trying to detect textures that are incompatible with some settings such as a 256x256 texture trying to run as 128x128 without downscaling.
This may be an issue with the HD patcher, but I'm not sure why it decided to randomly act up. =/
unrelated to my buggy issues question: the first screenshot you have in your original post has some lovely lighting effects, may I ask what mod that is?
You have to run the 'mcpatcher-1.1.12_02.exe' download found the in the post where it tells how to install. This texture pack replaces the default textures. When you open up the exe file, check texture pack, and browse for where the .zip file is located (most likely under 'downloads'). Then click path, and wait. If the log says 'SUCCESS...probably' this click 'test minecraft.'
Alright, in all, AWESOME MOD! I love it, and almost everything looks great. I have one graphic complaint, however. The fire does not look good. Especially compared to its surroundings. The water, lava, and all the textures look awesome, and then there is the fire...I am also not a big fan of the health (I edited that myself though).
I also have one question (I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and the 256x MOD):
I can run and install the mod just fine, but a few questions. After I have installed the mod, if I choose another texture pack, the game crashes...permanently. I have to delete the '.minecraft' folder and go to minecraft.net and re-download it.
And one other question, whenever I try to install the wild grass mod, do you have to install the modloader for that as well? I tried with and without it, the log said:
########## GL ERROR ##########
@ Pre render
1285: Out of memory
ever though i still have 800MB of DDR3 ram left.
There is also two 'minecraft.jar' files with the 1.4_01 update:
minecraft-1.4_01.jar
and
minecraft.jar
(I am pretty sute the 'minecraft.jar' file is the one that matter because that is the one the patcher modifies and the plain mod works fine.)
I tried putting the wild grass mod with and without the mod loader in each by itself and individually, but none of these combinations worked. I got it to work just fine without this mod, but not with this mod, and yes, I did not copy the 'terrain.png' file into either of the minecraft Javascript files.
Thanks for you help,
BetaRick
...oh, and this...
Please tell me that wasn't a Photoshop job! I like it!
i have but one issue, a small one.
Stone and Cobble Stone icons in the inventory look almost the same, making it hard to see which it which when trying to fined them. other than that its a super awesome pack and love it at 256! :happy.gif: i also like the darker Dirt you posted a page or two back. Keep up the excellent work!
EDIT: forgot to add something
The animated water is SO COOL! also like how the lava has a heat effect.
I also disagree with a previous poster on his p.o.v. regarding your glass texture. I suppose a more gritty, dirty glass would better suit the "rugged" theme of the game, but I honestly *love* that your glass is crystal clear. It makes peering out the windows for zombies much better, and my building style tends to focus on more extravagant chateau-esque structures where flawless glass looks stupendous. I also like that with the dark borders, four glass blocks in a square make a lovely window shape.
One suggestion I do add, that again someone mentioned previously, is in regards to the mossy cobblestone. The default texture pack makes mossy and regular cobblestone look quite natural together, since one is the same skin of the other just with green markings. When making a cobblestone walkway with your texture pack, the mossy cobblestone doesn't quite fit with the "look" of the regular cobblestone and thus they don't look natural next to each other. A rather minor issue but just a suggestion :3
I hope I can figure out how to get the pack to work with my game again soon--I don't care to play it unless it's with your texture pack lol.
Hope that clears up more and thanks for the awesome texture pack.

Having said that...
Scuttles, I hate you for making it impossible to play minecraft without your texture pack.
I love the diamond etc, I agree mossy cobblestone could use a rework and am looking forward to your future work. Keep up the amazing job!
Did you use the HD pathcer or just copied and pasted the .zip file into the texture packs folder? It doesn't work if you did the second. If memory is the problem, you usually get a white screen. The HD patcher gives you a log, watch what it says there to get more info. If you used the patcher, all should work fine. Hope this helped :smile.gif:
