I want to continue using this texture pack and you state you will not be addressing the 1.4.01 issues so is their a way for me to patch to 1.4? if so will it work on a server that is running 1.4.01?
Love this texture pack, makes the game so much more atmospheric. The textures are much more eye candy.
I'm using thre 64x64 for better framerate, and it still looks cool. I tried the 256x256 and it ran smooth without the wild grass mod. But in addition to that 64x64 wasnt that bad a downgrade. Liking the grungy Medieval color and texture of things as well. Made a outpost structure built into a small cave, outlooking a large body of water, and it looks awesome. A field of realistic looking grass, and a sand beach. Especially with fog on, its amazing.
So, thanks also to ejhopkins wild grass to add the final touches to the atmosphere.
Near Perfect replacement of AaGeOn's pack. Thanks bro!~ Very nice!
Thanks.
Won't ever come close to as good as Aageons was. Hopefully he comes back soon. =)

Nice nice pack so far. Not sure about the cobblestone. always seems to be the hardest one to make look good.
I think, Albion had the really nice cobblestone if I remember right.
But yea so far this is amazing. as i'm using the test version just released.
Cant wait for final :smile.gif:
Running the 256 pack.
Thanks so much.
I'll look into Albion to see what you're talking about. Thank you for the insight. ^^
Glad you are enjoying it.

Your still water animation is just fantastic chief. Awesome.
Haha, thank you. It's good to hear from you.
It might go wellwith your pack too. =)

Sorry for the misleading information. I won't be able to answer questions or issues pertaining to the new patcher or the new updates yet. I'm not impressed by the issues that it created and I'm waiting for a more stable version.
The pack itself will always try to be compatible with new versions, give or take a few hours after release. =)

whoohoo! sparkles achieved! and I'm done for the day...lol
perhaps i was misleading in my post i understand u wont be giving support to 1.4.01 however your 1.4 version worked flawlessly and was wondering how i go about putting my game to 1.4 instead of 1.4.01..
grrrr... and btw Adriorn has some nice water now :smile.gif: pfffft -off to get screens-
edit: just reminded myself how hard it is to get that perfect shot >.> bah..I'll make a vid tomorrow...lol I need sleep

Good to hear that you guys are making the HD community tighter with helping each other. =)
Now, we have to convince Aageon to come back and somehow snuff the Painterly out of the picture.

I probably should change the title. This pack will work with 1.4_01 as well because nothing was changed graphically with that small update.
As for the past updates... I know backups are probably your best bet, but we all aren't perfect. =(
I'd try searching for a mod that allows previous updates. I saw it before, but couldn't find it again, sorry.
Now, we have to convince Aageon to come back and somehow snuff the Painterly out of the picture.
Whatcha mean by that chief? I think I'm reading too much into that :smile.gif:
And btw, the real hero here is Grugsy. He volunteered to help and is constantly trying to help people with modding and texture pack issues in a bunch of threads. Major hats off to him.
i will go ahead and address the issue i am having and hopefully it can help some people....minecraft seems to have sneakily released an updated launcher which could be the issue.Simply go to your .minecraft folder delete that and reinstall the minecraft.exe and patch with the mc patch beta 3 and through the texture pack inside texturepack folder.
Just that the cake is a well-known thing that needs to be changed. I've tried pitifully for many attempts and it always looked... disgusting. =(
Noted, though. Any other suggestions? =)
I've never made a texture pack so i dont know how to make things to look good but I think that the redstone torches and redstone wiring is a little blad...and the paintings should be with Jesus for people who don't believe in that.

ohh and if you end up making a cake design you like then you should try to make the cake have bites each time you eat it instead of it being cut like slices.

You probably are reading too far into that. XD
I mean that in order to bring the HD community higher up on our pedestal we need to get back one of the greatest artists, Aageon, since he quit just recently. We also need to take out one of the biggest lower resolution pack artists, the Painterly guy, so everyone will flock to the HD packs.
Anyway, I tested your pack out today. It's looking really nice. =)

I haven't touched the wiring in forever. I'll have to play around with some proper editing now that they made a new method of creating the activated/disabled wires.
The paintings are from Adriorn's art pack because I wasn't quite finished with mine .png. It's going to be fairly "classical" when I'm done with it. ^^

Interesting concept. I'll think about that.
Edit:
I know this was suggest a long time ago, but does everyone like a more brown dirt?
Now that I look at it again, it looks like a grave. =(

Hi everyone,
I just start using the x256 texture pack. It looks cool, but there is a few things that looks very weird, That I Though I could came here say and maybe get improved next time =)
Inventory/crafting/chest Menu Very confusing, hard to see what items are in there, is very messy. And couldn't be those high res too?? or is a minecraft limitation?
The other thing is the torches, you could use the johnSmith torches, with your improvement to high Res. They are very cool.
Take a look:
-pic-
The clouds are cool the bottom of the "cube" but then the sides make it a bit stupid, since they have many transparencies, why not just do it 2D?? They are clouds, and then when the clouds step in front of the moon will not look weird. See some pictures:
-cloud graphical errors-
NOTE: Pictures were 1920x1080 and Ive no Idea why Imageshak shrink it.
Then I LOVE: you cobble is awesome, but the mossy is too strong to mix with the normal cobble, and sand stone is very cool too, The water is awesome ( maybe improve the flowing water) as the obsidian ( looks a very strong stone as it realy is XD). Could you make the bricks more Red instead of orange as they are?? XD
Awesome work so far =)
Thx a Lot
The torch idea is interesting and I really want to work on my torches in the next update. I'll see what I can do about that. =)
The clouds are an unfortunate poor coding in Minecraft. Their "fancy" setting forces 3D clouds and it really does look ugly as shown in your pictures. Cferril has made a mod called "better clouds" which remedies this problem and it turned out quite amazing.
Thank you for the critique and I'll take all of it into consideration.
Edit:
I have some very bad news. ='(
I decided to be an idiot and mess around with my terrain.psd and overwrote it with my .png. ALL 487 layers are now gone... This is just great. :sleep.gif:
Luckily I'm nearing completion of my terrain.png so this doesn't affect me too much, but this does make it a real pain in the ass if I ever decide to discontinue this pack and wish someone to take up on finishing it. This also makes it really difficult if I ever wanted to slightly change a texture.
Why is it when I try to use the 256 texture pack my minecraft lags? It lags on multiplayer and single player. I run a multiplayer server myself is it because of that? I set my java heap size thingy to -Xms256m -Xmx2048m. I got 4 gigs of ram and I have a AMD Phenom Quad Core Processor. Without the texture pack I don't lag..but am I able to run the 256 texture pack? Is there something wrong with my computer like I don't have enough ram? I get 12 FPS ingame..lol.

Yeah, much nicer like that, in my opinion.
Wait, what? I don't believe in dragons, but the paintings are still nice. Replace them if you don't like them.
Thanks. I actually like it more as well.
Very well put. I really like your paintings too. =)
not sure what you mean the dirt color seems fine.
