This is driving me insane, ive redone all the procedures exactly over 20 times today. im using 256x256, though ive tried the other versions. Only the exposed side of sandstone renders in my minecraft game, though after using mc patcher and pressing "test minecraft" and playing singleplayer everything renders perfectly except for the bump mapping, but i can live with that, as soon as i close it and run minecraft.exe and everything refuses to render. I get no error messages so i cant really post anything. ive redownloaded both the patcher and the texture pack multiple times. If anyone has had this error and knows how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated. *EDIT* Ive also Deleted my .minecraft folder and redownloaded the whole thing multiple times. Nothing works...
I know exactly what your talking about. I followed the instructions precisely to install the TP and it works fine in the patcher's test, but when you try to run the game without the patcher tester opening it, you get a black screen. I have done the Java memory fix to increase how much memory is used, but from what I have read, I havent seen this issue come up before guys. This one seems pretty serious if no one has a serious solution.
Updated Mincraft [check]
Updated Java [check]
Java memory parameters expanded [check]
TP installed at 256x256 with current MCpatcher [check] ...
ooo...I just found the issue.
The game is unable to render the animations very well at 256x256 for some reason. I went and lowered the resolution in the patcher to 128x128 and that fixed the issue. I can now run the game without the patcher and everything renders beautifully. Found out by a hunch/experimentation.
Man I still need to test this out but if you got this to work for me then I love you. No homo.
Posting awesomesauce video at request of Scuttles:
Didn't post it until now cause I didn't think it was worthy.
Going to try to get an even better video... may wait until next update so I can show off vines though.
BTW Scuttles, you noted the white dot above torch in x64... if you can try to fix the purple line above the lever in x256.
Tried to fix it myself, but didn't see the line in terrain.png... maybe I'm missing something.
Might there be a tutorial on how to specifically install this? I feel as though I put some of the wrong files in the wrong place, and it bellyflops when I try to run minecraft. Check a few post back, I posted an error code. I won't bug you all anymore, just trying to get some advice on this issue.
You said you extracted to the bin folder. Hopefully you meant the .jar inside the bin folder or there is your first mistkae. =\
ACCESS VIOLATION does mean you messed up somewhere and have incompatible mods/files running together. Try doing a fresh install.

on the 64x64 one, i saw a white dot on next to the torch, plz fix.
im loving this pack so far
Noted before. I'll get on that tomorrow. I've been very busy recently. =)

This Game crashes every time I try to open the mod... does not work.
The game crashes either because you installed it incorrectly, or it runs out of memory. Could you specify what is happening?

Great texturepack, but you forgot vines for wild grass mod. They appear as a weird x-ish thing when placed. Keep up the good work.
I just didn't realize that wildgrass had an update because of the lack of ability to view my own posts. I'm working on making this new wildgrass look beautiful. ^^

HOLY F***ING S*** I'VE DONE IT!!!!
Figured out how to get rid of the nasty distortion on tracks, redstone, and other assorted non-block textures! Oh YEAAA....THIS THING IS HAPPENING! Full steam ahead!
Damn! That was very confusing at first because I saw your first sentence and it looked like you had gold tracks. XD
Very nice job, though. One step closer to perfection.
Okay so the .jar file goes in the bin folder, do the rest of the files go into the texturepack folder?
Edit: Put the .jar file in the bin folder, then the rest of the files in the .minecraft folder. It replaced it a few files. Then I ran the HDsetup, it said it worked. I hit 'test minecraft', it came up and the texture pack was not working. So I exited out, and tried to manually enter minecraft. It hit the Mojang screen then crashed again, giving me this error code:
Edit2: This is also when all the original minecraft files were present before I did all of this. I can try to do a reinstall again, but I'm not sure if that'll help. Is the fact that I have windows 7 causing this problem? Or do I have the wrong Java installed?

I have an HD Radeon 5750. I'll see if I can update the drivers
looks amazing with the waving shader. umm..lines above torches/levers isn't always graphical.. it could be an A.A. glitch
It could be, but I don't recall seeing this at all in the previous version. Hmph
EDIT: Still see it with AA off.
EDIT: And for when you update the texture pack for Wildgrass: The new Wildgrass (I tested 10.4, not sure about 10.1-10.3) takes the textures out of the wildGrass folder that is part of the mod (which gets put inside the root directory of the minecraft.jar file). NOT the terrain.png.
So anyone happen to have a download for Wildgrass 10.0 that I can use until the update happens?
Default textures look meh.
EDIT2: Apparently only the modloader version reads textures from the wildGrass folder, the non-modloader version still reads off of terrain.png. :-D
that pinkish purple of those lines looks almost the same color that baseline heightmaps turn out...maybe the lines are showing through from the alpha channel or mask somehow? it really does look like the color you get from just full rgb.
I'll just leave these here...
Vines are darker than that picture so they blend well, also other savanna flower is some sort of lavender.

go back a couple pages...multi post discussion about it.
Actually, a newer version has been released which is not completely compatible with wildgrass. The grass works, but the grass is default wildgrass, not the better-looking version from this pack. Ergo, will compatibility for the newest version be added?
Regardless, the new wildgrass has the exact same files as the previous version. The reason you're getting default wildgrass is because I haven't created textures to those specific tiles yet.

I'm really excited for this pack to keep getting better :smile.gif: if there's anything i can do i'd like to help
It's only just begun. ^^
I have a few helpers as of right now and things are going smoothly as far as I can tell even with my busy schedule so I appreciate the offer, but not yet. XD

Im still having the problem with not beeing able to play this mod, It works when i use the Patcher (mcpatcher-1.1.12_02) and go for "test minecraft" But it dosn't work at all with the normal .exe
I keep getting these when i try to run the normal version:
-code-
I have done a fresh reinstall a couple of times, downloaded all the files from scratch and done this 10 times.
Am i missing to delete some other files other then the .minecraft under roaming?
I have even installed the latest drivers but still no luck.
Im going bananas here!
This is remedied by using the video on the main page. It allows greater allocation of memory which the patcher uses, but not the original .exe.
Hope that helps.
Also, nice computer you have there. =)

I hope you're right. I've been looking for the past 20 minutes trying to find a faint purple pixel. Damn you, Phantom. XD

-code-
Sorry for the very vague message. I'd bring it back to a fresh install and follow these instructions.
Here is what you do:
1.Download pack & HD Patcher
2. use patcher to bring it to 256x256 resolution (Or desired resolution)
3. Go into your bin folder and find the minecraft.jar (Don't move the other one in there from the main .minecraft folder.)
4.Open said .jar with a .zip extracting program such as winrar or 7zip.
5. Click and drag the texture pack files inside the minecraft.jar that was just opened.
Again, I'm sorry for not being very clear and I hope that works for you.
EDIT2: Apparently only the modloader version reads textures from the wildGrass folder, the non-modloader version still reads off of terrain.png. :-D
Updating this: The non-modloader version isn't compatible with Modloader (thought it just didn't use modloader)...
So until you update the pack for it I can't test out the new Modloader v5 update for Mipmapping and have Wildgrass on at the same time.
EDIT: The mipmapping update is buggy... or it might just be mipmapping in general.
Messes with the Glass.
Going to stick with just Wildgrass for now.

I'll get on that. I have most of them finished up on the terrain.png. I really wish he would stick with one method and go with it. Besides the separate .pngs are laggier than adding to the terrain.png. Oh well. :sleep.gif:

Thanks, its brand new :tongue.gif:
I tryed doing the memory for java thingy too but with no success.
I have however now moved the patcher and the mod rar-archive to the .minecraft\bin folder and it seems to have worked.
Now i just need the other mods!
Cheers for the helpfulness anyway! :smile.gif:
That's an odd way of installation.
Whatever works, though. =)

Yeah, no idea why he switched.
He did say in the next couple of days he would be releasing a patch for the client version (non-modloader) to make it modloader COMPATIBLE.
Which would mean we can use that + texturepack terrain.png + modloaderv5 w/ mipmapping ;-D

It's simply great! My main texture pack now. One thing is, the front sort of "visor" on the helmets is kind of weird. Maybe cut out some bits on it? Or maybe remove the front? Also, the dark icons in the inventory screen sort of obscure the items which are kind of dark themselves. I can't see all of my items in full without rolling over them. Otherwise, it's great!

3. Go into your bin folder and find the minecraft.jar (Don't move the other one in there from the main .minecraft folder.)
[color=#FF0000]????????? When I did the resolution thing on MCpatcher, another file appears in the binfolder called minecraft-1.3_01, right above the original minecraft.jar file. I'm not sure what you mean by "Don't move the other one in there from the main .minecraft folder."[/color]
4.Open said .jar with a .zip extracting program such as winrar or 7zip.

I try to put it in the original minecraft.jar file. It has an error code, and when I try to start up minecraft it gives me the dreaded Java error code I've been posting.
Sorry for being a newbie, I'm just going nuts over this
minecraft-1.3_01.jar is the backup file of the original minecraft.jar.
YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TOUCH THIS FILE.
It changes nothing in the game... it is just for backup purposes in case the actual minecraft.jar gets corrupted.
Man I still need to test this out but if you got this to work for me then I love you. No homo.
