Just checked the x256 link to test and I'm getting the same error. Browser is Firefox 4, no download managers. The x128 has downloaded flawlessly every time, so maybe a re-upload of the x256 would help?
What about the x64? And do you happen to have chrome or any other browser to test it out?
It may just be a firefox issue.
EDIT: Just tried on Firefox myself and it downloaded fine... :\
Internet Explorer worked fine, as well as Firefox upon another try. Maybe some timeout issues with users or their isps? Either way, the solution for the time being seems to be try again until it works.
Could be...
Though it worked fine 10/10 times for me, downloaded it fresh each time.
And I see no errors logged on the site.
EDIT: So I was monitoring the server and it seems this may be the issue:
The file for x64 is 481181 bytes, and some people are only getting 481180 bytes.
Still no idea what the cause is, and I would assume it's the same problem for people who are getting the issue with 128x128.
I still can't reproduce the issue on my end though.
EDIT2: I updated some software on the server, let me know if it happens again.
Not sure if that fixed anything.
If it happens again I'll probably contact my host.

That's interesting. It seems very strange that the download would be 1 byte short, which would cause the "corruption".
You beat me to it, but I posted mirrors to Mediafire on the main page as I was reading and replying to comments.
Hopefully that updated software fixes it. For now, I'll still leave the 2 options.
Edit:
I haven't had any issues with your mirrors either. =/
It's been a great weekend that I was spending with a couple of friends.
Sounds like a have a few small fixes to get out of the way. I'm not sure about that torch issue, though. I can't replicate it and I haven't found anything on the .png. =/
What resolution was the pack? It may have been a shotty down-scale on my end...

Do we need the old version in the download folder?
Doesn't matter if we keep it, but I'm a neat freak and it seems to be just creating clutter :-P
Glad it worked out. This update made a much larger commotion than I thought. XD
Yea, delete the old ones if you want. I'm also a neat freak, lol

Here running a Core I7 950, 8 gigs of ram, an X58 motherboard, and a Nvidia GTS250, under Windows 7, at a steady 60 FPS. With GLSL shaders edited by me, of course :wink.gif: Using the 256 pack.
Rah, no specular maps within this update... Still, great work! It really is easier to see what item it is in the inventory. And I might be repeating myself, but you did a really good job on the buckets ^^
Althought, I agree with some posts above, it looks more "Grainy". Even with MipMapping.
Don't know where it comes from, nor if it is a feature, but I don't like it that much. But the items are so nice that I updated right away ^^
Looking forward to bumpMapping (If my rig can stand it).
Again, great work, even my girlfriend doesn't mind when I play MineCraft, now that it looks like a real game :wink.gif:
My girlfriend makes that same comment. XD
I'm not quite sure where this graininess is coming from. I didn't modify the grass texture at all, only the biome overlay for it. I'll have to look into that. I may have accidentally hid a layer or something.
Bumpmapping may be including with the next update (if the new minecraft update doesn't butcher the GLSL shader mod)

A slight square outline to the sun can be seen against the blue sky.
Been a great update so far, thanks for the time and effort Scuttles. :smile.gif:

-creepy shrubs-
Now I don't know if this was intentional or not, but when I first updated, every time I'd turn a corner or get over a hill I'd have a heart attack believing that certain shrubs were creepers. I've gotten used to it, and it kinda seems like a funny/nice touch now, but still, can't unsee:
-creepy shrubs-
I don't even know if the shrub textures were changed, but I just started noticing this!
I actually did change the texture to try and compensate for the lack of proper lighting in Minecraft. I really never thought of that until you posted this. I can't believe I DIDN'T notice it before now. XD
I kind of like that small Easter Egg now. ^^

correct me if im wrong but, it looks more grainy than before for some reason...
-grain-
okay first time ever posting a picture in forums, lets see if this worked... But anyways, like the grainyness of it hurts the eyes, cuz all you see is like, "white dots" at certain angles over the grass. Am I the only one experiencing this on the 256x256 version?
Btw, this update version has ran 20x faster, FPS is a lot higher than the previous version, idk what thats all about haha
Again, I'm not quite sure what I messed up with on the grain factor. I'll certainly look into it. I've also cleaned up and refined my .psd even more to have less redundant layers, which reduced the size of the terrain.png pretty significantly from the initial release I had. The FPS increase is likely from that. ;D

Tried downloading the 256x pack and installing it, both by using the patcher and direct install (zip-folder in the texturepack folder in /.minecraft), but it just won't work.
As mentioned by others before, it reads the Mojang logo and then.. stops.. Black screens and closes by itself.
I do not think it's a hardware issue, unless 2g ram is not enough :smile.gif:
2GB of RAM is probably not enough for the 256x256 pack because it nearly requires 1.5-2GB just to run it without the OS and outside processes consuming more resources.
I'd try the 128x128 and report back.

Hope i'm not going to make a nub of myself, but here we go. Is there any reason why the sides of the grass aren't the same colour as the top of it? I've been trying to use BetterGrass, which i believe makes the grass texture run all the way down the sides of the blocks, but i could be wrong. Possibly not the most precise of questions, but any help would be appreciated :smile.gif:
Also, best texture pack i've used, great work
The sidegrass isn't programmed to use the biomes from the folder so I have to use a neutral color that looks natural in most scenarios. Better grass does fix this to a point, and that side grass mod is not quite for this pack.

WOW... just wow....
this is the most realistic pack i ever played :biggrin.gif:
other hd packs have like HD grass and Low definition dirt (which looks retarded)
but this pack is just perfect...
(except the blackscreens, which i stopped by turning smooth lightning off and less render distance)
but i cant find any installation for the custom water and lava... (just because it isnt working, but it looks so neat on the pictures...)
please someone help :sad.gif:
I think that's a known issue when installing through the texture pack folder/HD patcher instead of a direct install. I could be wrong, though.
Have you tried to install 64bit Java or follow the Java heap video on the main page to reduce black screens.
Quote from shampoomyballs »
can you post a video on how to put the 256 up i want to try it all the videos are about how it looks not how to put it on
It installs just like any other texture pack except when using the HD patcher, you select 256x256 before patching.

For some reason, when I use Xau's patcher, for the 64x version, it says:
"The compression used in this .zip file is not supported. Please install the texture pack manually, or re-package it as a .jar or .rar file."
I've used Xau's before for a 32x pack, and it has always worked fine. This also happens with the 128x version for me.
I also can't open the texture pack file with 7zip.
Please help!
PhantomGamers hopefully addressed this issue. I have some mirrors from Mediafire I'll post for people having issues.

Have you been having the issue yourself though?
Me, nor any of my friends, are able to replicate said issue.
I have seen this happen several times with packs and mods... it's a random thing.. a spike in bandwidth can cause you to lose a couple of the packets and it will make the zip unreadable. not really anything that can be done about it. only suggestion is try to repair the zip with winrar..or try to d/l it again.
I love the texture pack, and it was working fine when i first installed both the 256 and 128 versions, and i was able to switch between the two. Now suddenly when i went to go switch to a different texture pack, it crashed minecraft and i can't open it again. I was also unable to install the grass mod. Do i copy the files into the texture folder per the instructions on this page or follow the installation instructions on the grass mod page(copying files to the .jar, etc)

If the game keeps on crashing etc, I am not sure on what caused it, but to fix it, just delete your bin folder, and be sure to save your saves if you have any. For the grass mod, you should make sure you have the texture pack installed first then add the grass over it. I personally have no tried the grass mod w/ this pack. But hope this helps.

Great texture pack but my only problem with it is that the torches have two small white dots floating above them. And if view bobbing is on, when you walk while holding a torch you can see one of the white dots. It might just be me being picky but it annoys me alot. Maybe you could fix it or if you can't don't worry.
Since I started doing very intimate work with your texture pack I've noticed one or two minor graphical oddities that most wouldn't notice at first glance. I can only remember one of them right now.
-there is a stray column of highly opaque pixels on the left side of the steel track of straight cart tracks. It's really hard to see, and not a big deal but if your anal you might want to get rid of them =) I only noticed because I had to dissect the texture to do work on it's parts individually.

Pretty much that is true. Deleting the bin folder gives it a fresh install and allows a "redo", if you will.
For the grass mod, installation directly into the .jar is the technique I use, but DON'T copy the terrain.png from the grass mod.
