Well I fixed my problem, for some reason in the options it kept setting the AA mode to FSAAx2 which would completely kill the FPS for some unknown reason, MSAAx16 runs smoothly. Now its working, loving it :biggrin.gif:
Nope, I was just a bit angry when I came home last night ^^ Sorry about that.
Good to hear it's working for you now. I wouldn't have thought about FSAA. Do you use my shaders or do they keep crashing your game? I'll double-check I uploaded the right files. Oops, just noticed you weren't the one telling me it's crashing... Well, how does it run now?
Yup, I modified base.vsh and Final.vsh. Using DoF, AA and a few other things is in that file.
Yep I sure do use your shaders, but I kinda realized that in singleplayer, the grainy is not a problem due to wild grass covers it and game looks beautiful. Sadly, in multiplayer, since wild grass has to be server side you see the textures, and they are still grainy no matter the AA setting or shaders used :sad.gif:
Updating my last post, I now can patch the 65x pack to work fine :smile.gif: trying to move up to 128 since thats what ive used previously. But again I get the changed blue mojang icon then it blacks and becomes a non responsive window...
Good to know you have atleast one version working. The only thing I can think of is that you may have installed the game improperly, but other than a mod incompatibility, I'm not sure what other reasons why it would freeze at the main menu.
Yeah Im trying to figure it out myself. I don't know how it could be installed wrong, it's the the app data folder like it should be. Think a hard reinstall would help? (completely deleting the .minecraft folder and re-downloading the game) because the "reinstall" ive been doing is just deleting the .bin folder which as far as i know is about the same as a fresh install
id love to use the x256 but im forced to use x64 since the higher resolution keeps black screening / crashing.. ive tried everything everything! reinstalled minecraft, java, the packs the hd fix's everything and the java config video thing.. i wish minecraft would not use 1.5g of memory...
i think 64 bit java is a must to run the 256 packs with no problems.
can you run the game from the test minecraft option from within the patcher? or does it still black screen?
if you have a 64 bit OS then i highly advise 64bit java!
Couldn't have said it better. :wink.gif:

Yea, deleting the bin folder is almost identical to a fresh install. I only say almost because the launcher is about the only thing left. As stated in the above user's post, I'd try 64bit Java if you have a 64bit OS. It literally eliminated every single black screen I've ever had when I updated to it.

Your computer specs might not be up to par, then. =(
Again, 64bit Java is really the only thing I've found to fix everything.

I would do that, your grasscolor gradient is really hyper. I'll get 15 diff shades of green in the same area, but it doesn't look smooth...because it's voxel lol. Yea the base.vsh did take a few calculations to get right, i'll be sure to include
Alright, we probably could use the vanilla minecraft biome. It's less extreme and has like 5-6 colors.

That is very odd. =/

Wasnt poking at the pack, Ive been offering scuttles feedback for a couple of months now. well i just looked online and diamon ore appears to be white/slightly opaque in some cases depending what type you find So perhaps make diamond a bit more diamond like shape and color white and leave lapis as blue. I fear if you make the lapis any darker then it will start to blend in with the surrounding rock to much.
I think you've actually been here since before the 256 was released. =)
You're also in Google if you look at images of "LB Photo Realism". So is Martin_Toy, lol
Anyway, I could be able to do that. The reason I kept it the light blue of Minecraft is that the tools and weapons just look more appealing as that color as opposed to a grayish white pickaxe. I'll try to make it highly more distinguishable. After hours and hours of testing and editing the images myself, I can easily pick up on the difference so it's hard to know what needs to be changed after a while.
Lapis will become a darker color(Not too drastic) to fit in with what it really looks.
ok, here is what i found out, im using google chrome it doesn't give me a option to download 64 bit plugin i had to use IE to download it lets see what happens..

how do i get 64 bit java i just downloaded java off the site is there a difference?
Huge difference. One Java is limited to a certain amount of RAM, the other can do basically whatever it wants. =)
I download from this site specifically because the Java site is confusing as hell. http://www.filehippo.com/download_jre_64/
Ok, wow i run a 64bit OS and since i DL the 64bit java, then reinstalled minecraft downloaded everything again to make it nice and clean.. it runs better then ever! it feels faster :biggrin.gif: Cheers guys for everyone!!

Yeah I downloaded the 64bit java using the link you posted several pages back and it changed the control panel from saying Java(32bit) to just saying Java. So im assuming the installation worked, but I had done that before posting this problem...
Now thats interesting... I have it in the 32bit system files and the 64. should I delete the one out of 86x so it doesnt mistake that for the correct one?

How'd you get his shaders working anyway?
They just crash my game... it freezes up when I load a save and just shuts down when I try and join a server.
Works fine with the default shaders though, so I don't think I ****ed the installation up at all.

All I did was install everything normally. After you get everything working properly just open up minecraft.jar with winrar, extract his shaders from his .rar that he uploaded and put that into the Shaders folder inside the minecraft.jar. I wouldn't think that should be the reason to the crashes?
All I did was a (quite a lot, actually) copy paste, I don't know a single thing with shaders ^^
So I don't really know what to say...
Try with a fresh Minecraft.jar to check if it is the shaders or something else.MAybe it is your video card? I think there are some issues with ATI cards, but you'll get better support in the shaders thread I think.
I hate how people are so quick to blame ATI. Not hating on you, just annoys me.
My card is fine, and it IS the shaders.
My game works 100% with the shader mod, it just doesn't work with your specific shaders.
No idea why, but whatever. Doesn't really matter too much I guess.
