Just wanted to say that I love your textures, really nice. Yours and MC Enhanced are the best imo. Just I'm currently having an issue using your texture pack. when using the 256x256 version (which is what i really want to use) The world looks really really grainy, and its hard on the eyes. Is there anyway to possibly fix that by any chance on my end or anything?
Thanks, MC Enhanced is one of my favorites as well. =D
This eliminates the grain effect by adding in mipmapping. I've had troubles with it on my graphics card with this new 1.3 update, specifically just the 256x256, but hopefully it works for you. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=128995
That renders blocks with a lower resolution the further away it becomes and should run your game smoother, actually. I wish they would incorporate this with the base version of Minecraft.
I have applied this texture pack (256x256) and run the test which works grand. But when i enter the game normally it goes black and crashes once I try and move in the world. Any idea why this happens? It's a great texture pack and would love to use it, so any help would be appreciated, thanks.
That generally means that Java is running out of memory and crashes instead of causing lag. I'd try reallocating memory to Java using the video on the main page or, if you have the appropriate system, install Java 64-bit.
I am now on my home, where my PC is. It's a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @2.66GHz, 4Gb RAM, 64bits Windows 7 Ultimate and a 220GT 1Gb. I've changed that java thing to Xms1024m Xmx4096m. Now I'm installing the 256x one. Hope it works [EDIT]
Works fine @ 30FPS. BTW The best water texture and animation ever!

Good to hear. Glad I could help ^^
The water texture is by far my favorite of all the experiments I've done. I've been through alot of water textures in since I first started this.
I've gotten a massive FPS boost using Optimine alongside this pack, which is awesome when I have to use my dad's PC which is slooooow and like trying to run through treacle wearing a full chainmail suit. If you are having FPS issues, I recommend Optimine.
Scuttles, again, a brilliant pack, loving the new tools. We'd love to get a HQ pack like this on the project, we have so many ideas for it and realism is something we're really striving to get right.
Hmmm... I might have to try that on my girfriends PC. She's getting around 30 fps with just vanilla textures, lol. Thanks for the info. =D
Your poor father's computer... Loved the chainmail suit and treacle analogy, though.
A extremely HD pack for RE sounds like bunch of fun. If I finish this pack anytime soon I might have to start one specifically for your server. If you ever finish that massive behemoth you call a city. XD
Edit:
That Optimine increased my FPS by 5. =)
It also renders my world much quicker. Thanks Martin
This is a really fantastic texture pack! =D I use the 128 and my husband uses the 256; they both look beautiful. I think the tools look awesome too. Keep it up!
Edit: My husband noticed that when he installs this texture pack he has trouble playing in the browser, and had issues playing on multiplayer in the client. Is there anything in the texture pack that could somehow cause that? I dunno if maybe it's a coincidence. I wish I could search for this but can't seem to find a search tool.

HD Texture Fix doesn't work in the browser...
Shouldn't affect MP though.

Well the mipmap helped a bit, for the distance for sure, but the problem i see most of the time is more of the up close, specifically with the grass at an angle not looking straight down on it, i'd say anything 5+ tiles everything has this white grain to it that hurts the eyes :sad.gif: is that normal?

Screenshot? Seems like it's just you and not the game.
One of my friends has a similar issue with any pack above 64x64.
I'm still getting the crashing when playing with this texture pack or the GLSL Shaders. I have x86 Java and x64 operating environment (Windows 7). I use Google Chrome for my browser.
This is what my Java looks like:
I'm sure this was already resolved but I feel like I need to make the point for anybody else reading. IF YOU RUN 64 BIT WINDOWS, INSTALL 64 BIT JAVA. You don't need to uninstall the old version if you don't want, but your operating system will use the appropriate version (64) bit anyways. Minecraft is infamous for crashing on 64 bit systems without 64 bit java, especially running high res texture packs, mods, or far render distance. Even on complete vanilla, without 64 bit java, minecraft always crashes within 5 minutes on my 3.8Gb i7, GTX470, 6GB DDR3. Just sayin
Also, Scuttles, I'M NOT DEAD. Well sort of. It's midterms for me and I'm starting implementation for my computer science senior project now. But I think this is one thing I still want to see done. So I wont be able to do as much, but I can still help some. It turns out crazy bump is only a demo version, but I want to learn to do it in gimp anyways.. if that's possible. Here's a screen of cobble/grass (be nice :tongue.gif:)
and without...
I like how the spectral turned out on the grass, but the cobble seems a bit to shiny, but then again, that's what it wold look like in broad daylight, I didn't get any from torchlight.
You should make this compatible with the bump mapping shader.
You should look 3 posts above yours.

Here is a little video I made, using this texture pack 256x256, and shaders edited by myself. I also modified Kz.png to have my own pictures. It's a bit dark, I shouldn't have shot during night time ^^ But it gives a good feeling of the possibilities this pack+shaders gives us.
Awesome video. But since I'm a resolution *****: EW 480P
Love the song too! :tongue.gif:
Which shader did you use for the waving wheat?
Or is that enabled by default with the GLSL shaders? Haven't really noticed myself, don't look at wheat much.
I guess promoting any kind of servers on YouTube is a bad idea...after I put up the trailer, the entire spawn area of our server got burnt to the ground and griefed...had to hide the server IP and only hand it privately for now on. :sad.gif: Just a heads up for all...don't hand out server ips in public, ever.
Or you could use a modded server that protects you against greifers or easiest of all, just use the vanilla whitelist feature. I do both for mine @ Tilez4Milez.dyndns.org
I'm having a very interesting problem now... I have no problem patching the pack (64x until i get one version working) and it allows me to login but freezes on the mojang icon. Which gives me no error code or anything to give you as info leaving me in the dark a bit about what to do...
I have tried deleting the .bin file.
I have installed the latest Java64x
I have used the MCpatcher.
What else could I add to the list? I really like this pack and seem to have trouble each patch sadly :sad.gif:
Updating my last post, I now can patch the 65x pack to work fine :smile.gif: trying to move up to 128 since thats what ive used previously. But again I get the changed blue mojang icon then it blacks and becomes a non responsive window...
In full daylight, with BetterGrass/WildGrass, and a better view of the leaves waving.
That looks awesome! I want that :sad.gif:
Okay so i downloaded your shader file that you uploaded and deleted that other file you spoke of, and all i got was a +1-2 fps boost. I see people talking about increasing the heap size of java, but have no idea what that is or even how to do it. Any other ideas?
EDIT:
Just thought I'd add: Windows 7 64-bit, running java 64-bit update 24. Not using any mods except LB Photo Realism, Mod Loader v5, mcpatcher 1.1.12.02, and GLSL Shaders. bah and now i realized heap tutorial on page 1... gonna try that see what happens.
EDIT:
Changed the heap size and still no improvements, somehow with the shaders its killing my FPS, i dont know why...

Try the GLSL Shader, the DoF can help a bit.

upgraded to x64 java, associated .jar files with said 64 bit java, increased the data size for java..
got a new video card lol.
now it plays.. almost well.
I'll take some screens of my city (that no one is interested in DLing) soon.
btw, did you reskin monsters too? I play on peaceful in my city map so.. I dunno..
