I'm still getting the crashing when playing with this texture pack or the GLSL Shaders. I have x86 Java and x64 operating environment (Windows 7). I use Google Chrome for my browser.
This is what my Java looks like:
I would uninstall or update that other version of Java. The program might be running in the previous version and ignoring the new one.
Have you tried 64-bit Java?
I agree get 64-bit java.
You SHOULD have it anyway because you're on a 64bit system so that means you're not using your system to its full protential :smile.gif:
Ps. Hi Scuttles, love what you're doing with the pack.
Hope everythings good for it now :smile.gif:
Thanks for all the help so far guys, really appreciate it. Could somebody please point me in the right direction to get the x64 Java? I go to their site and it wants to auto-install the x86 again. This is frustrating. :sad.gif:

Everything is going quite great except it's just a pain in the ass to make everything with such a high number of pixels.

Yea, I found that quite the pain in the ass. I always download the newest Java from this site. I use this for updating many of my programs such as Defraggler and Ccleaner. http://www.filehippo.com/download_jre_64/
Oh no, I only tried 256. I'll try 128 later, but then it'll just feel like im not playing to its full potential...
Yea, sacrificing fps for quality is a hard decision I sometimes can't help but to take up on. I mean one less frame per second couldn't hurt if I cranked up my AA all the way, right? Next thing you know, EVERYTHING is on ultra or some ridiculous setting and you're playing with like 10-15 fps. XD
Anyway, I'm working quite hard and making all of the packs uniform, just with less pixels.
Okay I THINK I've got it working now with Java x64. I'll keep you posted. One question though: How can I use the high res character model included in this pack? I'm still using my old custom one but I'd like to upload the new fancy one if I could.

You can't minecraft.net won't allow anything larger than the sizes you're allowed.
If you want to use the skin you can only use it on SSP in offline mode :smile.gif:

I've also had skins working in a LAN environment which is offline too I guess. =/
Keep me posted and hopefully the pack works for you.
30 minutes in and so far no crashes. Now I've gotta try the shader mod on top of it to see if that'll work too. My minecraft looks amazing!
Good to hear. =D
I'll be making some huge refinements to the 64x64 pack within a few days. I'm going to try a different down-sampling method which should retain alot of quality. It's going to take alot longer than the previous method, but it should be worth it in the end.
Great texture pack man. Add so much to the game. Sadly I get around 1-3 fps with the x256 but I run the x128 fine. I think my favorite part is the high texture paintings. Add so much more to the once-gloomy house, especially the finer 1x1 small paintings scattered around.
Absolutely amazing, at first (before I opened the thread), I honestly thought this "Photo realistic... How good can it be? Pfft." Now after looking at it, I cant keep my eyes off of it! Its absolutely AMAZING!

I think that's just about the same mentality for alot of people who just stumble upon this thread. XD

Currently the art is off of a different pack, but I'm going to scrounge up a few pics and pieces of art soon to fit this pack better.
Thank you.

Pretty much exactly what happened here too. But with some added "god dammits" from the x86 Java.
Scuttles, I get 200FPS with the 64x64, And 170 with the 128x128 o.e
And you already saw my FPS with the 256x256, (64+128+256 on full settings) So you know my system is Ok with it, So Another question, What EXACTLY did you update with the 2.9.0?
Oh and I use x64 Java
EDIT-----
My computer wasnt even that pricey either. Not one of those i7's or AMD Phenom X6's So thats good :biggrin.gif:
Also, Approves.
If people really care about having hd textures while connected to the internet, quick edit of a file now it uses file from inside the minecraft.jar. Haven't tested online yet not sure what other players will see when they look at you.
download link is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?vcfokcq0n4hdcd2 download will also be on my mod page.
Plz post on my mod page if it glitches when someone looks at you :tongue.gif: Ill try to fix it if it does.
EDIT: tell me wat you think about it :tongue.gif:

Hmmm... Did you install the HD patcher to make it capable of rendering higher resolution blocks?
