i agree with you totaly release this before someone makes another texture pack maker angry because he posted his textures here.
It's better to release it on this post as a Temporary update while asking Scuttles (through a PM) to have permission to release it. If he says no, then it could be removed and all others with aspirations of releasing an update for this will be given the message that Scuttles said "No" to anyone updating his pack.
I'd hate to see this pack fall to the wayside as did Extreme Photo Realism.
We haven't heard from him in a long time and people constantly asking for updates will only make the moderators lock the OP.
Like i said, i don't want to step on anyones toes here. This pack is the one that motivated me to start making my own textures in the first and i would love to see people able to use an updated version. I can fully understand if Scuttles has other projects going on and doesn't have time to keep it updated. If i could help keep some people that use the pack happy it would be awesome. I will have to polish a few things up and see what Scuttles has to say about it.
The question may sound stupid, but why don't you just use another photo realistic pack?
There are so many out there, including that one, I did out of my own love to minecraft. ;-)
Some of the alternative packs may be really good or better than old broken LB photo.

I use a custom pack composed of textures from 13 different packs and some custom textures. Here is the basic list:
Affinity HD -- (dragon egg, quartz, bow, moon, moon phases)
Aurae Terris -- (cake, coal block[modified], base texture used for my ores)
Cyberghostde -- (gui, hardened clay)
Faerielight -- (mobs, armor[modified], potions, records, boat, various items)
ForgeWorks HD -- (My custom textures)
GI Modern Realistic -- (cactus top and bottom)
KDS HD Realistic -- (potato)
KOP Photo Realism -- (potato stages)
LB Photo Realism -- (stone, dirt, rails, tnt, trees/wood/planks[modified], redstone*[modified], sandstone, tools, nether brick, soul sand[modified], chests, various items and blocks)
Maraxos Realism -- (brewing stand)
MojoKraft -- (bed[modified], cauldron, plants, farmland, fire, flowers, glass, mycelium[modified], nether wart stages, saplings, new stone blocks, quartz item, quartz ore[modified], carrot items, horse armor items, seeds, shears, slimeball, spawn egg, cocoa, various items)
Ravands Realistic -- (bedrock, hopper)

Working on my credit list (for update purposes, not for distribution) and some of these packs may have pulled things from other sources that i don't know about at the moment. (some i have no clue where i found them...)
I just have a special place in my heart for LB Photo Realism because it inspired me to make something better that what one pack had to offer. The pieces of something that is broken can still be put together to make something amazing.
I hate to tell people this but it is near impossible to get in touch with scuttle. I would not send him a pm as I sent him one over a year ago and have still not gotten a response.

Every two months or so since the beginning of last year i have updated my pack. I started with LB Photo Realism but didn't like a few things. I downloaded a few other packs and they didnt fit the bill either. So, over the course of about a month i grabbed about 25 to 30 packs and pulled what i liked most from each. Some stuff was a little off so i started tweaking the textures a little bit to fit what i wanted. After that i started creating my own textures before other packs were updated so i could have an updated pack for my version of minecraft. If i can't find anything that is up to my standards i create my own textures. Every time there is a major minecraft update i see if anyone has anything better than what i have already. That usually involves downloading 5-10 packs and nowadays i rarely switch anything out. I just try to keep current and play around with some of the old textures i have. I use a 256x pack and i have a 128x pack that my wife uses.
I like the look of this pack and i would love to try it, but it looks like every link to download is actually a link to download another file which i can use to download the file i actually want. I am not interesting in this, is there anyway to download the file directly?

I agree but I wish someone would just compress it for those (including me) that can't run that resolution (if it's 256x like his last one was) without a tone of lag.
