that realy depends on t eresolution you plan on using. I am using the 128 pack and i hardly notice any change in vanila. while if you have lots of mods or a mod pack like technic or feed the best you will need to be prepared for some heavey strain. On that note you can manualy add tekkit/FTB texture pack addons to this one. it wont look perfect but it is still much better then vanilla.

Alright so we're backing in business. Been working on it for a couple hours today to get things ready for an update. I'd say next weekend at the latest.
-Tweaking quartz a little more. Nothing too major.
-CTM texture implementation.
-Full 1.5 textures.
-Fixed watch purple issue due to new MC rendering.
-I noticed a few armor issues ingame and I'll work on that. I think it's a simple rename situation.
-New ores are on the back burner
I'm surely missing some stuff but that's what I have on my plate for now. I'll keep you guys posted.
I'll have the RPG pack ready as well for the most part.
Thanks for spending so much time on this awesome pack Scuttles as the previous poster said it would be awesome if you could fix the clock and compass soon, the current files in the pack look like this:
But in order to work with the new update it has to have a bunch of textures for each position, found that out here :
The 1.5/1.5.1 update broke all the old clocks (and compasses), the .png texture file has to be redone as many separate frames to show movement and a ctm and txt file has to be written to tell Java how to render them. Some of the texture pack clock files are still broken from this change because so many new items were introduced at the same time as the old ones had to be completely redone for the new texture rendering system.
Like this:
Thanks again Scuttles
For everyone else, a quick fix is deleting the clock and compass.png files from the textures\items folder will make the game use the default files which should work fine.

That is exactly why it's taking so long. XD
So much work for such a tiny aspect of the game albeit quite important on the grand scale.
What about the clock and compass? Please, Please fix those.
I did post in the previous post, but I called it a watch. My apologies. As stated right above to the other user. It's quite a pain to get them working, haha
I imagine it would be quite a pain, instead of making a normal Minecraft clock with the spinning inner circle couldn't you make a traditional clock with ticking hands? That might look cooler and as for easier to do I'm not really sure, just a suggestion. I feel like thats why they changed to the new animation style, so we could have custom working clocks.

That's actually quite a nice idea. Currently I was just reverting it back to the feel pre-1.4, but I really like have a working clock in that regard. Maybe even have a digital one as a alternative download? =)

Thanks for what you can do! looking forward to a complete 1.5 texture pack..

Thats a really cool idea too, I hope you do try that because I'm interested to see how it would turn out with minecraft days being so much faster than real days. If it runs on the same time intervals the hands are going to be spinning pretty fast haha. I think it would embody this texture pack better as well, the day night thing doesn't seem to fit a realistic texture pack. I don't know much about making a texture pack, but if you have good instructions and need any help with grunt work on the clock/compass I would love to help make all the repetitive animation panels, I have Photoshop CS6. Good luck
I was playing using the LB Photo Realism texture pack 64x, and everything was fine, until I came across the clock and compass. They don't work and that is bugging me so much, because that is my favorite texture pack. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to get it to work. I have tried MCPatcher and Optifine but nothing helped. I have also downloaded the most up to date version. The compass doesn't have a working needle and the clock doesn't show the animation, only a constant magenta color. Any ideas what I could do? Thanks in advance.
Go read the last few sites please. There are information about a future fix by the author, about a fix for now and so on.
In case you are to lazy to read: There will be a fixed 1.5.2 Update and you can fix this version by deleting the compass related textures.
Greetings from Germany
I guess I missed it but I have been going through these pages and through the web like crazy for two days trying to figure something out, but I can't find anything. Thanks for the reply brotha.

I really want to get CS6, but I'm not ready to drop that kind of money just yet. I have CS5 and it still works well enough for the work I've been doing. How does the new version feel and any major improvements? I did notice the autosave feature. That may save my ass in the future, haha
I'll keep you in mind if I need an extra hand working on these textures. =)
was it mentioned when it was coming?
I got my clock and compass fixed, but I used a new clock and compass. I'm also making some other changes like adding texture to the witch and female villagers.

Female villagers? O.o
I'm aiming for this weekend, but we'll see. I work 2 jobs so it's a matter of how tired I am this week, haha.

I sure am. I will certainly add to them if needed, but it's a nice stepping stone that you gave me. Thank you. =)

That was quite awesome. That map showcases packs really well.
