I have a similar problem. every time i switch to the texture pack it gives me a grey screen (not black) and says loading error. I think its something to do with how much memory i have or my computer cant handle the 256x256
I've encountered a similar problem as well (different but similar) when I load the "beta" and press f3 my memory usage climbs gradually until it's used nearly everything I've allocated, then minecraft crashes (alternatively, it sometimes crashes around 3gb). Any other 256x256 packs, including my mcpatcher-converted LB pack (downloaded from page 1) work great, around 80-150 fps with optifine, and hover between 0.5 and 1 GB of memory use. I've tried the original .zip and extracted versions, same effect, only on that pack. I'll keep trying to change things and see if I can be more helpful.
Uploading one more test. I attempted to fix many of the issues seen before. I want to minimize the problems since 1.5 added a ton of extra work for us artists. =/
If all goes well. This may actually be the release and I WILL work on the downsample tomorrow morning. It's been a long day and I need sleep.
Can you release 512x of these new textures including grass texture? I would like to add them to my 512x texture pack. The new texture format is interesting. You can mix different block texture resolutions like 64x with 256x or even 1024x with 64x or 32x. It would be weird that way.

Too bad, there are so many textures still missing. Dispensers and Dropper are bugged, when you place them up- or downwards. Also the light sensor and the new redstone thingy (sorry for my english), are invisible. The hopper is standart textured.

I simply ran out of time for many things that I had wanted to create. I do have another update planned very soon which will finish it up.
Can you release 512x of these new textures including grass texture? I would like to add them to my 512x texture pack. The new texture format is interesting. You can mix different block texture resolutions like 64x with 256x or even 1024x with 64x or 32x. It would be weird that way.
The update will come quite soon. It's taken ages to downsample and save these images now that they've been separated.
Thanks, my texture pack is mixed from other 512x realism texture packs. Most of it are from your RPG realism. I made my own iron texture to make it white like default iron. I'm not sharing my texture pack though. I'll take screenshots with sonic shaders when the mod is updated.

Edit: Just a request: Connected clear glass, maybe?
I think I'm going to have to remake the glass texture. Does connected textures support transparencies? Last attempt at connected glass become too clear and often looked odd.

Sorry about that. I've been posting betas of the x256 to see if anything was wrong for other people. This new update for Minecraft changed a ton.

I don't know if it works, but a program called Format Factory can resize multiple images. Don't know if the quality it's affected tho
I can certainly look into it to compare the image quality of manually vs. automatic downsampling. Thanks you. =)

I'd post that in Sonic Ether's Shaders forum for better luck. I'm not quite skilled with them, but other people certainly are.

I intend to make them a ton more smooth instead of the rough pattern they are right now similar to what you've created.

Maybe the new 1.5 doesn't use the same method for creating the face on the clock. I'll look into it. Thanks for posting that. =)
