Should try reading previous posts, he stated that it would be this past weekend/mid this week as an estimate, but anything can happen or go wrong, but I would personally say it's a good bet it'll be released before the end of the week. We'll have to see.
This new update has made texture creating such a pain. On the other hand, it's quite an elegant approach to them as well so I may just not be used to the locations of the textures which is making me go crazy, haha.
Anyway, I'll get some screenshots up in a few hours to see how you guys like the new textures.
After running the converter (dinnerbone).. I get an intermittent Java exception kick, but it's very rare
the texture pack was converted from within the default directory
I'm Running Magic Launcher and granting the executable 3072 kb
Optifine A9 Ultra (pre release) (through ML) and rei's most recent zip, injected.

My rig is 8gb, Phenom II x4 (x64 runtime)
In short, no problems here
x256 8.5.4
Alright, it may just be my system. I've tried updating and rolling back Java, my graphics driver, and cleaning my registry. No such luck as of yet.
I'll have to do some more research to see what's going on. So far JRE just spits out an exception access violation error.
Theoretically, I can still create the update. It just will be rough without in-game testing. =)
EDIT:
After 3 and a half hours of PURE frustration, I finally got it running flawlessly. Apparently Minecraft 1.5 disagrees with my graphics card's Catalyst AI. Disabling did wonders.
Looking that way, Friday at the latest. I've wasted a ton of my free time today, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue as I've gotten quite a bit done already.
The new MCPATCHER (mcpatcher-3.0.3) converts texture packs way better than unstitcher, all the textures are converted (CTM and animated textures too). I use Optifine to run HD packs, you don't need to patch minecraft executable, just run mcpatcher and you will see a new option "Convert texture pack" :-)
I used both during that long period of anger just to see if it that was the case, but thanks for the heads up. I'm using the HD patcher's converted files at the moment. =)
Sorry for the off-topic question, but is there any way to make the forum only notify of replies to a given thread by email ONCE until you've checked said thread? (I hope that made sense) Most forums seem to have this as an option, so as to not flood one's inbox when many replies are posted in a short time frame etc. There seem to be many similar tweaks on the notifications preferences page, but I can't seem to find one for that in particular. FWIW, I posed the question in the forums help section or whatever & that proved pointless. (no replies whatsoever, heh) PM's are welcome, as I realize they/this doesn't really belong here. As always, thanks in advance!
Here's some of the new textures. I'm a bit unsure of the stone texture. Might just add it as an alternative until I find something that I really like. I went with a softer grass texture to help with the grain issue that plague this pack. The dirt finally doesn't look like a brownie as well. I'll keep you posted when I start to finalize the rest of the textures.
I'll agree with you, the Stone one is really not that great. Seems like it has some shining little particles in there, maybe if you desaturate it and test it.

The grass and dirt are awesome.
Thanks. =)
I will certainly keep playing around. I'll have to focus on the new update first before I continue. I don't want to waste too much time on it at the moment.
Here's another stone texture I was playing with. It has some obvious tiling issues, but does look a bit nicer. http://i.imgur.com/UF82T2U.jpg
Is there any reason, why you can't use the old texture? It was awesome. Also it whould be cool to have at least one alternative texture for the most common blocks (grass, dirt, glowstone, stone, cobblestone, gravel).
Anyway, when you post the new Update of your awesome texturepack, could you please update the forum post? Sometimes it's just a pain to search for someting, because for example Optifog doesn't exist any more.
That's just my point of you.
Greetings from Germany
I just like to keep things feeling different. Because of this new texture layout, it is very simple to replace the new stone texture with an older version in seconds without the use of an image manipulator such as Photoshop or GIMP. That being said, I'll try to start making many alternatives to the current textures to almost give a "painterly" approach to a realistic texture pack.
So the old stone texture will always be available. =)
.. i finally decided to give the texture pack converter a go
It works very well, only the animated textures and new blocks are replaced by the default ones.
If this is news to you, you'll find the converter here; http://www.minecraft...rom-dinnerbone/
problem pretty much solved for me
Just run it

Worked early this afternoon, but now it just crashes on start up.

That's quite alright. The manly fist-pump and massive smirk on my face almost makes it worth the struggle I had with my computer. ^-^

Actually kind of like that one, though yeah would be better if it was a bit more seemless.

I cleaned it up a bit and drew some cracking effects to it making it more stone-like. I'm starting to like this one quite a bit.

I'm not sure. What version do you need?
