Hmmm.... Anyone know a rough date of the next update for Minecraft? I'm wondering if releasing an update soon would be beneficial or to wait until 1.5 hits so that I can catch back up.
Thoughts?
The Photo Realism pack is almost done from what I've panned over. RPG shouldn't take long to follow.

The larger redstone update isn't supposed to be out before mid-january next year, and the fireworks update is out on new years, so they are distant enough that you should update this. If you wait, it will likely be a month before the next update. I'm pretty sure that people would want to use this pack, and not have to wait until then to use it. I don't personally use it because I can't run it, but based on popularity, I'd assume there are a lot of people using it, so some of them would likely be unhappy with it missing textures.

Thanks a ton. I'll try to get this update out then possibly this weekend for the LB Photo Realism pack. I shall also look into this redstone update. Sounds quite interesting
First of all.
Thank you very much for this beautiful texture pack. It is my favorite.
Please have in mind that It does not look like Mojang is going to stop with the updates so soon. That being said Please give us the update for the texture pack. I would rather have Photorealism with placeholders. It has been one and a half month since 1.4.2. I wish you had released a version of the pack with placeholders for the new items. While you took your time for the beautiful creations that we all love. It kills me to have to use any other texture pack. Please do not delay any longer to this update.
Love and Peace.
Lots of Diamonds for you.

Can we please just go ahead.
From Mojang's website:
-snip-
You should definitely add the firework stuff (firework rocket and star items), firework particles and the enchanted books before updating your pack to make it compatible with upcoming MC 1.4.6.

Noted. I think what I'm finally going to do is finish off the update that should have come out a LONG time ago and start preparing for the fireworks update that is expected before Christmas.
Hey Scuttles!
You dont answer to my PM i wrote to you. I am working on some textures for some mods which fits to your texturepack. I am working an a support for Tekkit and GLSL (Specular Map and Bump Mapping) pls contact me if you read this =)
This the most amazing thing I've ever seen! I really hope my computer can run the 16x version, if not, I will be sad.
Iguess now I'm going to check how to install a Texture pack...

Are you also going to make specular mapping for Sonic's shaders, a popular GLSL?

Well, default is 16x, if you can run it then you can run this pack in 16x. Installing is easy. Just move the zip folder into your texture pack folder in .minecraft folder. Search %appdata% and click Roaming to find .minecraft folder. Use optifine mod if you want more performance.
I actually don't think it's such a good idea to have Jeb implement the support for HD textures. He's probably going to make the rendering code worse. I would be much happier if they just paired up with the guy that makes OptiFine.

They talked about it a long time ago. They couldn't reach an agreement. However, 1.5 is supposed to have a large bump in performance from a new rendering engine.

If it ain't on minecraft wiki, mojang's website, or minecraft website links and official things, it might not be true. Minecraftwiki though, is still not always true due to random people messing around the wiki.

A lot of the boost will come from entities being independant objects. I have experienced this in my own programming. True objects work best when programmed truely 100% independant.
edit: I don't now how to explain it to most people. It's how minecraft and other programs utilize memory. And minecraft uses system memory rather than gpu processor memory cause there engine isn't programmed for gpu's.
edit2: which is why a system processor for minecraft and huge amounts of system memory(if using large resolutions) is required for minecraft. Would be much less so if they programmed it for gpu usage. Basically minecraft could care less about your graphics card. It really cares about your CPU processor and the memory on your motherboard.

Basically Minecraft is using the CPU processing for both character influence in the world and graphics processing. If they programmed the graphics to use a GPU they could seperate the graphics from the interaction and put less strain on the CPU.
Edit3: Oops, meant to do the last comment as an Edit 3 after thinking for a time how to expain things.
I near refuse to use other texture packs because i am so used to this one. I have begun to use the Metallurgy 2 mod recently and would like to ask if you would make textures for that mod as well? i understand if it would be too much work, but there simply isn't any good TPs for it, and if i'm going to ask someone i might as well ask the maker of the LB Photo Realism packs.
Thoughts?

That should get the best of the situation.
