Y U NO UPDATE TO 1.4.2? Anyways, I really love this texture pack, but I hate it that you don't update it to 1.4.2. It's like most other mods, not updated to 1.4.2. It's OK, I am patient.
With the FPS improvements (faster than with Optifire, or so say the devs) and HD texture support of the future v1.5, maybe even 1024x texture packs will be possible
1024x is already possible to run. I can run it lag-free. I allocated 4GB RAM to Minecraft. Your GPU need to have at least 2GB VRAM. 1GB VRAM is not enough. There's a problem with 1024x, it takes too damn long to start up Minecraft even on SSD.

its ineed possible but i do not recomend it because of too big pictures that will be used and that uses too much for the cpu.
if i tried it my pc was stuck until i could close minecraft after a long time and delete the pack so i think someone need to make a good program that makes it posible to run them without too many use of resources.
or your pc get stuck like mine did but i think its because you use too big pictures for it 1024x thats almost my entire screen for 1 picture and in game it becomes 1000's of pictures who are showed at once that ask much cpu and gpu memory i had 6gb ram alocated but it wont run ot loads very slowly too long really and i cant use my pc anymore and thats just not good (i use laptop)
so in my opinion a 256x is a good pack for balanced quality and performance without chance of lagg
and 512x is also still ok but higher then you get the problem like with the 1024x so i recomend 256x and if you really want higher quality (what in my eyes dont change a thing because 256x is showing you all detailed things only not for close by but if you use a 1024x you get it too detailed close by but thechance is great that the system laggs and loads very slow then i chose a 256x that runs it good and gives a acceptable texture quality.
but thats my opinion and if you want to say yours then i will be glad to hear them.
ps. if someone knows a solustion for running the 1024x tell it us that will help people a lot and a question how do you find how much vram i have i know it for ram but vram?
I use 512x pack with Sonic's shaders all the time. There's a good difference between 512x and 256x. 512x standalone uses 1.2GB VRAM. 2GB allocated RAM is enough for 512x. I never heard of 1024x uses too much of CPU. It never get stuck for me. I have Ivy Bridge i5-3570K overclocked to 4.5GHz. VRAM is video memory. I have GTX 670 which it have 2GB VRAM. Some graphics card have 1GB, some have 2GB, and some have 3GB VRAM (Radeon 7000s series).

would be great if the author would give us an idea how far into updating they are into this. i know it still works with 1.4.2, but it'd be nice for the new mobs and items to have the proper textures for the texture pack.
Well, 1.4.3 will be out tomorrow, making the 1.4 version stable. The server I use to play now uses 1.4.2, and I'm beginning of getting tired of asking if this texture pack is gonna update or not. So I think I'll change it very soon, if I see no signs of an update from the author.
1.4.3 is just more bug fixes and performance buffs.

Its the only texture pack i use, but like everything else, very frustrating when its not updated. I won't even use other packs that are updated, its just not the same. Hope we see something soon!
Can anyone tell me why I have two little fire animations in the top-right corner of each face of every single dirt block in the world and why the rendering on tools is horrible. (I'm using the x64 version.)

I'm using optifine so can you specify what options are on and off to make it look nice like that.

Are you sure you have 3758MB VRAM? What's your GPU?
Oh, I didn't read the top since I thought it was something else
