Yeah I tried a 1024 pack, the Extreme Realism one. I ran it with 3GB allocated to Minecraft on a system with 6 cores, 16GB RAM, 5200 bus. That **** turned my game into a slide show. I'll wait for LB to update and stick with 256.

You don't have enough VRAM. You'll need at least 2GB vram.
Is HD 5970 a dual card which have two 1GB? How's your VRAM usage? Are you using optifine?
I'm not really sure the VRAM layout but it shouldn't matter much whether its 2x1 or 1x2, but it has dual GPUs. To be fair I didn't troubleshoot much as it didn't really look a ton better than the 256 version to me. I did however use the pack to fill in the missing pieces of the current LB pack so I don't have missing textures.

Alright! So I just have a few more things I need to touch up with the new gui and enderchest, but you guys should expect a release tomorrow or Friday. I'm getting back into Minecraft so hopefully that helps me spark continuous updates (Maybe even finish that 1024x that I started a while back.)

I just updated to 1.3.2 an hour ago and found a few things broken. I don't know if these are known issues but I figured I'd present them anyway. I am using the 64x64 photo realistic (slight possibility it's the 32x32 but doubtful) and Better Grass from MC Patcher.

I got a little excited when I saw 1.3.2 release. I thought it was going to include the 12w32a snapshot. I like the inclusion of mob equipment drops in the snapshot but also want to use it with Modloader for the mini map. It and Optifine haven't been updating for snapshots like MCPatcher.
i got this error after selecting 512x texture pack its a clean minecraft no mods in it at all used the batch file you put up as well 256x works fine though

i'm having a "white box" issue with glass blocks or sandstone one or the other i've used a hd patch program and i've allocated more mem to java but still nothing any ideas

Radeon HD 5970, 2 GB GDDR5. She consumes more power alone than my laptop with 2 HDs and 2 video cards but she rocks gaming.
How about extreme photo realism? It's pretty close to LB photo realism.

Yes, this is a texture pack, not a mod. 1.3.2 didn't add any new items.
