Do NOT use the compressed versions, they haven't been updated in ages. I don't know why Scuttles keeps the links to those in the OP
I don't think there's a point for compressed textures anymore. How much improvement people usually get using uncompressed and compressed version?
Off topic: I just got Asrock Extreme6 Z77 mobo and I'm getting Ivy Bridge i5-3570K for it this Sunday. I expect MC fps improvement from my meh Phenom II.
Sure the blocks looks good but i don't like most of the paintings.
Make your own. I replaced one of the biggest one with a map stiched together from screenshots of 6 other maps in a square grid around the spawn in one of my worlds. It made a great display piece to have a hug map of the surrounding regions up on my wall. The file is pretty easy to edit as long as you use a program that does transparent layers. The file is kz.png in the minecraft.jar\art directory.
Having a strange glitch with the glass its showing them as just grey blocks had it fixed yesterday by deleting my bin file and reupdating and re hd packing but launched it today and got the same thing. Tried this fix again and it didnt work. So i thought maybe a reinstall of java JDK 7 still nothing. tried dedicating more ram to java still nothing. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this glitch?
I've installed the 512x Texture Pack and also increased java to use 4GB of memory via the link on the front page. I've re installed Java as well, and restarted my computer. Ran the batch file as well.
Just tried re-installing from scratch and ONLY running the HD patcher and the 512x HD pack. Still crashes with the memory error, even though in Task Manager it's only using 1.3GB of memory.
Does anyone know what's going on?
:edit:
Found the problem. The PATCHER has a Java runtime that alters it back down to 1GB by default. Changed it to 4GB and it immediately fixed the problem.
:double edit:
Anyone know why the image on the front page looks flat out amazing and when I install everything that is listed on the front page, mine doesn't look even remotely close? I'm running a 560ti OC card with some pretty decent hardware... Java is eating 3GB atm but it looks unlike the front page picture...
Interesting. I'm thinking someone posted my pack as "their" creation on this anti-piracy website so it marked the real creator as an illegal distributor.
I've filed a counter-claim in hopes of shedding some more light on the issue.
I will re-upload tonight when I get home to fix the downloads in the mean time.
Additionally, I'm continuing work on the pack so I hope to get a few updates out soon. Summer break. =)
Work for the game company starts in roughly 2 weeks so I'll know for sure if I should drop this pack to someone else or not then. It will be tough...
Scuttles,
Optifine has a new "extended connected textures" feature in the new preview. The examples it gives look great, I'd love to see those sorts of things in the Realism packs

This is the best texture I've seen in a long time. My only criticism is that gravel, stone, and cobblestone tile somewhat poorly. If you have a large areas of cobblestone (a wall, perhaps), there's one large "stone" in the middle that stands out, and makes it look bad in any pane greater than 3x3 or so. If it were split into 2 stones, it would be perfect. Stone is good, but the one "bar" going down one side of the texture makes it look odd when it tiles. Gravel isn't really bad at all, it just makes you very "aware" that it's tiling.
the mod is the new preview version of OptiFine. you should ask sp614x how to make the extended textures. it also includes random textures which give a much nicer look than the same ones over and over. here is a piece from the OP about the new features:
Preview OptiFine HD A11 Standard for Minecraft 1.2.5 (added: Extended Connected Textures (examples), support for custom texture animations (blinking cats, cows, etc.), custom mycelium particle colors, custom underwater colors, support for block palettes by metadata, fixed: BetterGrass to work with Mycelium, BetterGrass to work correctly with Forge textures, should now be compatible with ExtraBiomesXL)
you could also have a look at misa's pack (v 4.1.3) to see how the textures are done. have a look in the "ctm" in the zip.

Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.

Link to mod please? This looks interesting.
Now we just have to wait for Mediafire to stop being a pain in the ass.
