I have a problem with the texture pack, when I save and quit Minecraft and rejoin my world all the textures are partly invisible and partly showing stuff from web pages i've been on, along with random textures.

Violence isn't the answer, it's the question. The answer is yes.
ok so first i LOVE this mod, the textures are awesome and it makes the game so much better. I do have a question however, i can only run the 32x32 pack for some reason. This boggles me because i can play many of the newer games (skyrim bf3 wow, sc2 ect) on max graphics with NO LAG at all. This pack however, stutters something horrible. I increased the amount of ram minecraft uses (i have 8gb i set MC to use 2). However it still stutters. I downloaded the 64bit java (confirmed with IE64) however i still stutter pretty badly. Any help would be appreciated because my hardware should allow me to run the 256 pack without any issues.
Thanks in advance
First thing, don't use IE, it's garage. I can max out BF3 on 1080p and I can run 256x at 150-300 fps. Are you using laptop? MC doesn't really run well on laptops because they usually have ****-poor CPU.
If anyone is REALLY impatient, I edited the terrain.png in the LB Photo Realism pack. I just took the planks he had before and adjusted brightness/levels to get planks that differ somewhat relative to the default planks. For the sapling I just merged 2 other saplings together. I didn't really even care what it looked like since I edited it mainly for the planks. Here's what they look like:
I'm no scuttles but if you drop this into your current Photo Realism archive then you can at least play with the new planks and not have holes in your world.
I continued on this terrain.png by adding Misa's jungle sapling and my own additional sandstone blocks (one is a smoother sandstone brick, the other is Egyptian hieroglyphs).
this is a great texture pack, it used to be the only one i used for awhile, but there are a few things about it that bother me to the point of not wanting to use it at all. mostly, it would be the windows looking very modern and out of place, and the glowstone simply being bright yellow cubes, and unfortunately both are common building materials. everything else is very nicely done though.
perhaps in the future, might you consider adding other options for these textures? now, im not saying get rid of the original textures and replace them by any means, but there is that nice new texture pack editor tool im starting to see around, where the texture artist, if they have duplicate textures for the same block, can add them all in the editor, and whoever is downloading it can choose which textures they'd prefer. you've seen it, im sure.
I will work on getting this 1.2.4 compatible as well as the x512 pack by tomorrow. I've been working on creating a portfolio that I will be submitting to be on board with a space exploration MMO game over the summer. From what they've told me, I have a really good shot of joining their team. I may post some progress and the title of the game at a later date if you are interested in seeing the next step to my life. =)
Unfortunately, that may mean that Minecraft will take the back seat over the course of the summer (or permanently...) so I need to kick some serious ass in the next month and finish everything I plan on.
I appreciate the fan attempts at keeping this pack alive while I've been out of commission or far too busy with higher priority projects.

You did great work and we hate to see you go. Good luck on whatever fills your time now and I hope you can choose a successor who will make this texture pack live up to its standards we have always loved so much.

How do I get past the grayed out texture pack in the texture pack option? I have attempted unzipping the texture pack and it still won't work, though it's not grayed out once unzipped. I have used MCPatcher and it still is not fixing the issue. Using stand-alone EXE file w/ custom path set up by a launcher bat to D:\Minecraft\.minecraft
It's not goodbye for me yet! I still have a little over a month to get a x768 pack going and add some of those interesting biome colors that the HD patcher has. =)
The update will have the following as of right now:
-Added missing jungle sapling
-Added different flavors of wood. Same texture for now, but will change later.
-New sandstone textures
-New stone swirly thing
-Ocelots no longer have default texture
Let me know if I'm missing anything so I can quickly fix it before the release.
Space exploration MMO? Wow, I'm definitely looking forward to that! I once sat down with the intent of learning C++ to code my own little space exploration game but lost interest halfway through Anyway, good luck for your future scuttles! We shall be missing you if you decide to quit Minecraft, but being on the team for that sounds a lot more interesting than just making your own little texture pack for Minecraft
So far the concepts that were discussed have been quite amazing and I can't wait to see this game come together. From what I can understand from the coding it will have dynamic worlds based of the distance from the sun, size of the sun/planet, age of the sun, etc. I don't want to give too much away yet.

That's what scares me. =(
I know I won't find anyone who's exactly the same, but when I make it free for everyone to use, hopefully someone will step in and continue.
the grand master of texture packs is leaving the minecraft plains, desert mountains forest and new jungles i have used your texture pack from the time i started with playing minecraft it maked my gameplay so good and i think many others we will miss you and your work that i am sure about and i wish you well in your new job maybe we hear about you years later and maybe you become greater then now maybe you have your own game company but thats maybe too far.

Too sad for me. XD
You all are too nice, lol
I will certainly stop by from time to time when I pass the torch, though.
Hi, love the LB Photo Realism pack, been using it for many many months. :] I just got a horse of a laptop, Asus Republic of Gamers, all that jazz. Anyway, I can run all the texture packs extremely easily with the laptop's 8G RAM, and I don't even have to use Java allocation. However, I cannot make the x512 RPG Realism pack run. I get the typical Minecraft is out of memory error. I've tried all fixes I could find, which were clear and easy to understand, as someone who is quite fluent with computing, but I simply cannot get this to work. I love the x256 pack, but I really would like to try the x512. I've also run the .bat file that Scuttle linked to, the cmd box pops up then closes before I can read it. Seems like it works, but the x512 still fails. Any help you can give?

The .bat file is the only way to run the x512 pack, from my personal experience. Also, using the Opfitine mod may allow it to run without it, but I haven't had such luck. In any case, the .bat file should not be closing the cmd window right up execution. The file should be in the same location as your Minecraft.exe.
Congratulations Scuttles! I love your texture pack and you will be missed. I have not even updated Minecraft because I just cannot play it anymore with your textures. Good luck in your next step in life. I bet that MMO will look amazing!

Mine is for 128x, not 256x.

And an x256 as well, please?

Fixed.
Someday water shader will be compatible with GLSL.
