I downloaded the 256x256 link and I have the HD patcher but it still looks really grainy at a distance. Also the grass and water in the videos move but mine don't. Am I retarded and that's a completely different mod like the water shader?

The graininess can be solved by using a mod called Optifine. There is an option that you can use called Mip-maping that will remove the graininess. The waving grass and tress is from Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders.
So I really haven't worked on this pack too much recently. I've been doing a ton of work with Mount&Blade and Skyrim working with those textures. I figured I'll
Good news is that I've finally gotten very good with creating height maps. :wink.gif:
So a nice update for that may come with time. I just don't have a good enough computer to actually run them...
If I'm missing anything in the Photo Realism pack, let me know.
I love this texture pack, but I am having a small problem with it. Before I say what the problem is, I am playing on Minecraft V1.0.0 so I can play the aether mod.
I have followed the instructions on how to add the texture pack with the hd patcher (even tried without it by just adding it in the texture pack folder). All the textures look okay except for the stone.
Do anyone know how to fix this? I am also having the same problem when I try the KDS Realistic texture pack. I believe the version of the game is not the reason why I am having this problem because it does the same thing when I put it on another Minecraft of the most recent update.

So, you finally learn to make your own bump-mapping? That's good news. I can be your beta tester like I did with 512x long ago.
There are going to be new textures in 1.2. The slapshot jar was released few days ago. The new textures I know are the wood block for the jungles and the glowstone lamp that can be turned on and off.

Exactly. It was actually quite exciting for me to finally realize how to get it to work properly instead of applying a filter and fiddling with a few settings, hoping it looks decent. I'd actually really appreciate being the tester for when I get around to working with those.
I have some rough textures worked on the jungle biomes. Obtaining pictures for that is really tough because, well, everything is covered in snow and lacks leaves around here. =(
Unfortunately, I may have to creep into the google images and see what I can do from there.
OptiFine didn't work for me (for some reason the screen goes black after it displays the mojang logo) and I was already trying to use McPatcher. I fixed my problem though, it was probably because my computer was not able to handle the 128x128 textures correctly so when I downgraded to 64x64 the problem was fixed. Thx anyway. This pack is awesome!
[EDIT] Was the water and lava texture missing for a reason? If so then could someone give me a good 64x64 realistic water & lava texture so I can add it to this awesome pack?

Did you delete META-INF after installing optifine?

As IronWill has said, with Optifine you need to delete the META folder inside the minecraft.jar.
I'm not sure if you're installing the HD patcher correctly. The reason the x64 works is because Minecraft can now recognize textures of that resolution, but cannot render the water/lava textures (Which is the issue you are having).
Is your Minecraft installed in the usual roaming folder or have you created a different area? You may need to redirect the patcher to the location of your .jar if that's the case.

The version 1.1 is in the normal spot, the other one is in a different folder with the use of Minecraft Portable. I already redirected the input file to the one in the separate folder and used the MC Patcher by loading the texture, make sure that everything was checked, and patched it. It will go to the loading screen that the aether uses for loading the title screen, but then the screen will go black. I guess that's because it does not support the aether mod.

It wasn't registering to me that the Aether mod was actually a mod for some reason. It is very well possible that the mod conflicts with the HD patcher which is resulting in the issues you are having. Have you tried an install without the Aether to see if that is the case?
i dont mean to be an ass if it sounds like i am i just wanted to let you know incase you wernt a ware that the stone pickaxe and the stone axe aswel as the stone shovel in the x256 have pixels misplaced in the air
Hey Scuttles, still a loyal Photo Realism user and can't imagine using anything else (I tried). I was just wondering, is there a plan to update the jungle tree textures? Their logs are currently transparent on all 4 sides, although top and bottom look like wood. They work great as a 'window to the underworld' but I feel I'm missing something when I ride by jungles as all I see is vine growing up into the sky.

It works just fine on v1.1 with 64x64 without Optifine (128x128 lags my computer badly xD) but with Optifine the screen goes black. I also noticed that when using the MCPatcher to try to install the texture pack on my v1.0.0 there is not an option for HD Textures. I guess that means I have to find another way of using HD textures on it.
[EDIT] I found out why the older minecraft was not letting me patch the texture correctly. It was because the jar was already modified so I have to start with a clean jar. I finally got the aether mod to work with the awesome photo realism textures! now I can fully enjoy minecraft once more!
That would probably be because the texture pack is not updated to Minecraft 1.2 or any of the weekly snapshots, that's what the "1.1 UPDATE" in the thread's title means :wink.gif:
Scuttles will update, don't worry, just give him time to find good textures. Also, don't expect mods and texture packs updated for the snapshots at all. Most developers feel that it's far too much work to update every week, and the snapshots aren't really a finished version anyway. Jeb should make that a little clearer imho :tongue.gif:
Exactly. I'm working on obtaining some nice textures, but it's really hard when there are no leaves on the trees to get a texture of. XD
I took a break today and played around with some different ideas for the various blocks I could use to fill up with the thousands of new block IDs that Jeb mentioned.
Here's a little taste. A ruined structure. :wink.gif: http://i.imgur.com/qZYlv.jpg
Edit:
The snow did melt enough to get some decent pictures. I do miss using my camera for textures. 4.2k x 2.8k gives me plenty of pixels to breath with. ^^

Nice, I need to try out the RPG pack again. I'm just so used to Photo Realism. Sorry about jumping the gun on the jungle tree thing, I guess I lost track of when they were implemented and I don't really spend a lot of time in them.

Haha, I just did. XD
I'd really appreciate that if you get those finished. I'll post the link in the main thread. :wink.gif:
