The textures are looking brilliant. The one critique I would make is the Ender Portal side texture seems a bit strange where the teal meets the stone. Perhaps adding in a more faded shadow or edge with possibly a burn filter will really make it look grand. :wink.gif:
Oh, and what is the texture in the top left? I still haven't figured it out so I just added holes to my cobblestone, lol
I agree, I might add some sort of streaks or perhaps a shadow of some sort. Thanks for the feedback!
Have you seen my thread for Synthetic at all in the past couple months? I have not put out an update for quite some time, and if you look at the download links area, it is quite clear as to why that is the case. I have so many links I need to change, and so many files to upload. And THEN I have to copy everything to planetminecraft! :/
I wish there were a way to have customizers for 256x+.... *cough* someone make this *cough*
Scuttles, YOUR AWESOME!!!!!!! I have tried to make a texture pack in Photoshop by going on google and getting pics and re-sizing them, but the bricks.... the bricks don't blend with other blocks of brick beside them... lol its too hard. and don't even get me started on the animations for the fire or water... lol. But anyway, If you have anyway of teaching me add me on skype or something (in a PM).
Scuttles, I think one major change is the shader folder now have 18 shaders files instead of 4. I guess MC have a lot more stuff in like new lightning system. Daxnitro did explain that CPU and GPU will have to process more shaders than before. I think the newest mod update makes 512x with bump-mapping more runnable. I get 15-40fps right now on 2.5GB RAM allocated. It's not really silky smooth as 256x with bumpmap. But, I got nice pics of 512x.
I think it's still worth making terrain_nh and terrain_s.png for 512x(you can always downscale to 256x) because it might be very runnable in one day.

Quite welcome. I'm glad I could help. :wink.gif:
I shall get on downloading that after uploading this pack. I have looked at the thousands of links you've been putting up over the past few weeks. XD

Those look absolutely beautiful.
I can see where that may be a bit more intensive on your system. So the latest update now allows it to become more smooth?

I guess so, the latest update is mainly bug fixes. I found some some way to improve a bit fps out of 512x/bump. Make sure you install optifine before installing GLSL.
1. Turn off DOF, it seems to help a little
2. Turn on fog level to fast(the one that came with optifine mod, not with MC)
3. Set Advanced OpenGL to fast
4. Turn on Smooth FPS
5. Turn on vertical sync(It is in same option where you set Max FPS) I'm not sure if that helps.
I get 30fps sometimes with dips to 15-20 on outside world and 60fps in the cave. For some strange reason, when I saved and quit the world and open the another world. I get 0-2fps problem again. Both of the worlds are fine. GLSL mod seems to make MC uses SLI/crossfire. Both of my GTX 460 1GB are 38% usage and I still have VRAM left over, so it's not my GPU or RAM. Then I checked my CPU usage. MC was using 50% of my quad-core CPU clocked @4.2GHz. My entire system is very laggy if I kept laggy MC open. I think MC only uses two core and it's reaching its limits. I wish I have Sandy Bridge i5 2500K instead of AMD Phenom CPU. They are beast.
Will the RPG Realism be updated to 1.0.0 upon the new release as well?
I tried the x512 a ways before 1.8, and a lot of the things were missing but it looked wonderful. I'm temporarily just waiting for it to update to see if I prefer RPG over LB, in all honesty I've never seen any texture pack that even came close to these.
Natures Husk was a fail apparently in the long run, and he stopped updating it so I never even tried it out. From what I saw, it doesn't look anywhere near as realistic.
At any rate, I'm ecstatic to hear the update will be happening in a short matter of time. Once again, incredible work Scuttles. :]

Interesting. I've copy/pasted that into a .txt for later when I manage to install the new shader mod. ^^
I do believe you are correct. MC only uses two cores. I'm not sure if that is the reason why the system runs so slow while running it regardless of the actual memory usage. Hell, maybe the entire system runs off two cores while Minecraft is running?

The RPG Realism pack will eventually get update. I originally made that texture pack to pass time while waiting for updates. Ultimately, I'm further behind than I could have ever imagined, haha.
I really want to get both packs 100% finished by the end of the year. Yea... it WAS a goal at one point. =(

Hell, Minecraft is normally single-threaded for me :tongue.gif: One of the mods must've added another thread for one reason or another.
DOF is a linear time penalty, but it should be relatively cheap (assuming it's implemented reasonably, I haven't looked to see what it does). VSync is like Max Performance but tries to limit you to integer multiples / divisors of your monitor's refresh rate, so usually 30, 60, 120 fps. I've also noticed that optifine has issues with large amounts of transparent blocks, eg. in my one world with a large forest, if I look down from up top, my framerate plummets. It could just be a problem with the area you're in.
If you have SLI set up, then anything which uses the graphics card will use the SLI. It's not really easy to enable or disable SLI, it's either on when you boot up or off, and I doubt that java has the necessary bindings to do that in-game.
When my power supply gets back from repairs I'll dig my teeth into these shaders, I can't wait :biggrin.gif:
Hi, I am having a problem trying to get the water and lava texture to work of Photo Realism (Not RPG Realism, I haven't tried it but it looks great.) But, anyway... The water shows up with the really detail 256x thing but the little moving circle textures don't show up on it.. Only in buckets does it work right. Same with lava... The black charchoal like rocks over the lava that is cooling do not show up... Both the water & lava texture end up like the Minecraft's defaultish looking texture where is just moving lines. And those cool water and lava texture are one thing that really make this pack epic for me. Please, tell me how to fix this if you can. Is it some way I downloaded it? My graphics card is not good enough? Thanks for reading this! Hope you can respond.
Not to mention, OptiFine doubles your FPS, and is a permanent one time patcher for your .jar, that will allow you to use any texture pack without having to patch again. :] Goes hand in hand with this texture pack imo.

:sad.gif: I'll still be clicking refresh constantly. :3
I'm making the final touches as we speak. Then I just need to downscale for the lower resolutions and upload it. :wink.gif:

Let me know if you have any issues.
Awesome.

Can I fix this by disabling things such as DoF? If so how do I do this? :S
GLSL also works with Balrea for me.

Turn off your bump-mapping shaders.
64x pack
Redstone Ore (left)
Grass Block (right)
The water and lava textures on the redstone ore block are "flowing"...
The fire texture on the grass block is "burning"...
!?!
*sigh* Another person who forgot to patch the jar. Use MCPatcher or Optifine to patch your jar.
