My guess, LB RPG Realism don't have much stuff as Photo Realism and PureBD, so it'll use less VRAM. You should get a good dedicated GPU with as least 1GB VRAM.
The problem with that is that it's just a guess.
I've just used GPU-z and my Dynamic Memory when I use the PureBD 512x pack is 1.25 gb (LB RPG 512x is only 400 mb dynamic mem usage), and it's running great, no other pack goes that high in gpu-z so I doubt it's the shared RAM/VRAM.
One thing I noticed is that the world/items doesn't load completely when I use certain 256x packs.
I just posted here to see if anyone else had this issue and would know why that's happening, but no one else seems to be running on the Hd3000 unless they're on a low-end laptop, and I doubt anyone on a laptop like that would be running an hd texture pack. It's Honestly no big deal, it's just irritating.
Maybe this could help notch/sp614x(optifine maker) and Scuttles... I've done some extensive testing.
Hey wicked texture pack! But when i select it, minecraft crashes and quits to desktop, then i have to delete the texture pack if i want to open minecraft again. I've used mcpatcher, and everything if anyone knows why this is happening please help :smile.gif: Thanks, Or leave a reply at http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/728294-texture-pack-crash/
For photo realism, you should add new textures to EVERYTHING since certain stuff in 1.8.1, such as the food bar thing, still retains its original texture.

Optifine is awesome!
Now, when can Notch start using 3D instead of linear chunks for minecraft? It would massively improve performance, and increase height limits by hundreds of times. There are mods out there that do that already.
After a very busy week or two with exams and work I've finally been able to relax for a bit and hopefully I can get some updates rolling out fairly quick for you guys.
There have been many changes since I've been gone and please give me some time to complete them. I do have a few friends and team members assisting me with these textures and Blizzard has already shown a little sneak peak. =)

Thank you everyone for keeping this thread alive and the continual support you guys show. ^^

Yay, you're back! 1.9 have a lot of stuff. But you have plenty of time to add textures. 1.9 will be coming out on the November 18th which is official release. The feature freeze is in effect since the 18th. So. they are fixing the bugs and optimizing the game. Hopefully that help make 512x easier to run for others.
Hey im having problems with the textures. 1 the vines in the game are whit and look like there frozen 2 the chests have the original texture. be cool if you could get this fixed. great texturer pack man
Hey, could you please make a texture for 256x Photo Realism for the experience bar, food bar, melon/pumpkin stalk, and rotten flesh? This is really bugging me. :sad.gif: I almost dislike using the pack at the moment, because it feels incomplete, and it just bugs the crap outta me >.< Hope the update comes out soon and I can start using this awesome texture again :smile.gif:
[Edit] Sorry for pretty much spamming, soon after I posted, I noticed the post that it was being worked on, I just decided not to take off the post because I didn't think it would be so much of a problem. I am sorry for any of the "Spamming". :/

Not just to you, but to everyone:
Here is the basic way to update your 256x compressed version(It won't be as small as the actual compressed version, but still):
Download both the compressed version and the full version. Take items.png, icons.png from the full version and put them in the gui folder of the compressed version, then take terrain.png from the full version and put it right inside the compressed version. Basically, like I said, it's just adding the new textures to the compressed version. Ta-da.

Which version of the pack are you using? The 256 Photo Realism works fine for me, however I know some of the lower resolutions probably haven't been updated, and that could be your problem.
Also, I'm curious; Is it possible to change the backdrop for the world? Aka: The blue sky and the stars in the black night sky? Something photo realistic for the night sky would look amazing if it could be done, but I haven't seen it done so I'm thinking it might not be possible.
After using LB Photo Realism for months now, I decided to check out the RPG x512. I knew the resolution would be doubled, obviously, but I was still absolutely blown away at the detail of the textures in that pack. My proverbial hat goes off to you sir, amazing job. I hope the x512 version of the RPG pack eventually gets updated after the full release of Minecraft, as I would definitely switch over.
- In earlier Versions you could change the stars but now random generated, so impossible to change :/
Damn... Time to Twitter Notch about this! Or my mod-making friend! (Even though that would probably mean that the texture wouldn't get made for the HD, at least until the pack was finished)
Well, I'm looking forward to seeing 1.0 Minecraft in this pack. Haven't tried any of the pre-releases, and I know I'm going to love your guys work :smile.gif:
Now all I need is to figure out how to edit those water shader settings properly and to wait for someone to figure out how to get the GLSL shaders working with the new lighting engine...
been using this texture pack since day one, and i tested the 512 back a while ago with the .bat file and it was awesome now im trying to get the bat file to work again and it just closes.
im obviously doing something wrong but i don't know what.
It is in the folder with my minecraft.exe and everything.
I have a question concerning minecraft updates. Right now, I'm using beta 1.8 to play the game, but I want to make the switch to the latest 1.9 pre-release. I don't want to lose the game world that I'm playing in, so is it possible to make the switch if I back up my save folder and then install 1.9? Or do I have to start from scratch?
Watershaders work with 1.8.1 + Optifine. I use it with my Addon and get 144-150FPS.
GLSL Shaders: demajor & Sharaugn made a version for 1.8.1 but failed (he asked em to debug some shaders) cause the new lighting engine but demjaor found the issues but we have to wait for 2 weeks cuz he is in vacation.
Hehe, I know watershaders work, I'm just trying to edit the settings on mine to make my deep water more opaque. Good to hear they've figured out the problem with the GLSL shaders though, even if it will take 2 weeks to implement. Should make future updates easier for them if they decide to do them.
Also, what GPU you using? My 9800GTX with the 256 pack and watershaders nets me a steady 20 FPS, and I'm only using 2X antialiasing. being surrounded by 200 block long walls of water might have something to do with it... But I can't wait till my 560Ti 2GB comes in, then I might get a decent FPS whatever I'm doing...

I'm glad they've stopped adding in new content and finally are working on optimization. We all deserve to run x256 flawlessly. =)
Ralmslb is correct with #1.
especially the stone is too dark, they need to be like 10-15 % brighter and it's fine :smile.gif:
Finally my Scuttles is back <3
I hope you dont forget to show us your new gravel, cant await the next version!
greetings
It's good to be back. School is finally calming down and I'm finished with my seasonal job. Yay free hours!!!
New gravel is coming along quite nicely. :wink.gif:

I've missed you all too. =3
Unfortunately, Blizzard is correct. It's impossible to change it without modding.

I've also made a topic in the suggestions thread to get the communities feelings on a texturable sky. If anyone is interested, let me know what you think of the idea here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/740163-texturable-sky/page__p__9651795__fromsearch__1#entry9651795

I'll see what I can do with the stone. ;D
