On another note, I have 256x256 installed, and it lags very slightly every few moments. Is this normal? I find it a little distracting to be honest.
If you're talking about the graphical stuttering, I have the same problem with x256. I think it's because Minecraft can't handle the Hi-res textures that we're using. I'm also experiencing the horizon glitch. That is, I'll be sailing on the open ocean in the game, and the horizon flashes a purple color whenever the boat bobs up and down. I wonder what causes that? Lack of mip-mapping maybe?
Yea, you need MCPatcher to use 32x textures or higher. No, you won't get server lag, only client lag if your computer is not good enough.
Running it now and it looks great, but Misa's texture pack doesn't have HD Textures for the clouds. Anyone know where I can get a HD .png file for them?
There is a bug with grass on x64 and a bug with stone on x128 where they show min versions of the texture for fire and portal. if that makes any sense, please fix!
OS: Win7 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00Ghz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 260
RAM: 4 Gig
My game has also been tweaked according to the numerous instructions found on this forum. Things such as giving Java more memory, increasing heap size, .bat files... you know the drill.

Ahh yeah that sucks.
Check the main page of my thread for synthetic reality, I included it there

Can I use MC Patcher to install this?

Will I get sever lag if I use the 512 texture pack with MC Patcher?

You should able to run 128x at most, maybe 256x if you use optifine.
Use the latest MCPatcher.
I used the latest MCPatcher by the way (2.1.1).
I used 2.1.1 MCPatcher and it did this for me as well. The water also didn't show. It was there but not visible.
