Use optifine classic version, has an included HDpatcher and contains an mipmap options, this kills any graininess :wink.gif:.
Try it.
Unfortunately, optifine is not compatible with water shader. I don't mind little graininess for a while. I sure it'll run smoother with optifine + mipmapping than water shader + AA.
About a month or two ago, when Minecraft was on version 1.6 i believe, i had absolutely no problem using the 256x256 pack except for some little lags but that didn't bother me so much.
But today with 1.7.3 my Minecraft immediately runs out of memory when i try even the 128x128 pack.
I already tried allocating more RAM to Java but it didn't help.
Maybe it's totally normal that the new version needs more RAM for other new stuff like pistons (just a guess, i have absolutely no concrete knowledge) but is it really that much so i can't use any texture packs higher than 64x64 anymore? I'm afraid the answer is yes but i wanted to ask this question anyway for quite some time now.
Thanks in advance. :smile.gif:
Im guessing you use Windows 7 64 bit... it seems people with the 64 bit have been having alot more issues lately.
@scuttles: I'm sure that this was asked before but I couldn't see it in the OP, when will the 256x256 version for 1.8 be released approximately? Cuz I'm hoping to play it with your pack right away if possible :smile.gif:
I assume you're using the RPG Realism Pack? Because that's still v0.x which probably means it's not finishd yet... Try using the Photo Realism Pack, it has realistic paintings as well :wink.gif:
Nope. I am using the LB Photo Realism. But using a 32x32 my pc cant handle anything bigger.
Hmm. Can someone tell me how to get those beams of light I see in most of the screenshots of the pack I see? Do I need to do something to the GLSL shaders, as I have them installed but I don't see any light beams. Thanks for any help (Also, is it possible for me to get my lava to stop having that white shine go over it with the GLSL shaders? Its something thats kinda bugging me)
Something that these packs need is updated and better fonts. The original clashes so bad. Just a nice sans-serif font would be great and make this pack twice as good.
Also, is there any way you can get the most super HD moon/sun image? I would love one so HD, my zoom feature doesn't get close enough to see the pixels. :biggrin.gif:
I have only used a few of the texture packs and am generally very picky so I will not use most of them; however, yours is brilliant, vibrant eye-candy.
I am running the 256 version and am astounded and not only how beautiful it is, but how much this makes minecraft a completely different game. Keep up the amazing work and I cannot wait to see what more you come out with!
I recommend GLSL Shader. 16x MSAA + DoF is the perfect Solution for it.
16X MSAA is overkill to say the very least, and it wouldn't do much about the grainyness. If you have a nvidia card, enable AF (anistopic filtering) in the nvidia control panel. That should remove a great deal of the grain. Mipmapping is good for that too.

You can do that with AMD cards as well...
However from my experience certain blocks start tiling pretty bad when AF (and AA even) is forced via the GPU.

The perfect solution? I think not.
AF is the only 'perfect' solution for this problem.
AA and DoF can cover up the issue SLIGHTLY, but AF will eliminate it altogether.

Jeb said they are trying to push on the 12th.
bty, the stone brick looks nice.

I'm guessing they are shooting for monday.

This isn't a mod, this is a texture pack.
Your issue is with Notch, complain to him and Jeb.
Even the default 16x16 textures are extremely grainy, this is due to Minecraft not using any sort of Texture Filtering or Mipmapping.

You'll get used to it. I disliked that the first time I installed it but with time, I got addicted to this. :smile.gif:
especially in 1.8 when you fly above them. and have fov on quake pro :tongue.gif:
