1) Edit the minecraft.jar file and delete the Meta Folder.
2) Using MC Patcher, install modloader and Zan's Minimap.
3) Open Notepad and copy and paste the following:
Change the amount listed for Xmx to HALF of your RAM and save as minecraft.bat
4) Place newly created batch file into .minecraft folder and run batch file.
5) If it gives an error message, post it AND the contents of the modloader.txt file as a spoiler so I can see what's causing the problem.
Couldn't find Meta Folder. Do not know how to install modloader or Zan's using the MC Patcher.
Increased Javas Allowance to 4gbs and it stopped crashing. but always said out of memory. So I created the .bat you said, put it in the mincraft folder ran it. It opens a command prompt and then closed.
It looks like the RAM is a lot less, but it's still a bit laggy. A bit more than it should be, I think. Here is a screencap.
And then the game still crashes with a memory error too.
you also have absolutely no memory to spare. So if say your browser uses a slight bit more minecraft will crash. So either close things or if you only have 2gb of ram you probably can't run the x512 pack.

I have 8GB of RAM.

Great TP, I love it. Just a couple of thoughts though:
Do you plan on making a 512 for the Photo Realism pack once you are done with the RPG realism one? I would love to see a 512 for both, but I can understand you not wanting to make another.
I also find the Ore for Diamond a bit odd. I can understand the ore vein look for Redstone, Lapis, Gold, Iron and Coal, but it seems a bit odd for diamonds to look like they do. I understand it helps with consistancy and makes it easy to spot, but it seems a little odd to me. I would have expected them to look a bit more crystaline than they currently do.
I've just started a Series of videos displaying Texture Packs and the LB Photo Realism texture pack is the first one to be featured!
Thanks Scuttles for the amazing work putting this together. :smile.gif:
Enjoy!

I do not intend on creating a x512 resolution for the Photo Realism pack because I made the mistake of creating all of the textures in a x256 resolution and it would take a massive overhaul of every texture to get it to x512
I'll see what I can do with the diamond texture. I really like the way it looks in the RPG pack so I may do something like that.
Please excuse me, the noob, but couldn't you just load the texture pack in MC through the texture pack loader in MC..?!
MC texture pack loader only recognizes x16 resolution texture packs by default. The only exception is the x32, but it has many flaws that still need to be reworked. The HD patcher allows the game to run the texture packs through the texture pack loader with any resolution.
If you made it yourself, yes. Open your .bat file in notepad, what does it say?
well i wouldn't say 8gb is lots but it works fine for me.
I just used the one supplied with the texture pack.

Still getting out of memory...

Try 2560M. You may have a memory leak which is causing an irregular amount of memory needed to be allocated to Minecraft/Java, in general.

Why only 2560M? Isn't 8GB 8192MB? So why not use more than 2560M?
I have 8GB of RAM.

Your quite welcome. ^^

If you have 8GB of memory, then I'm sure you have plenty left over to allocate 3GB for java. That's what I do and it runs just fine
the game is saying java has no more memory to allocate.
