Is anyone else getting crashes with the recent update and the gui api mod settings screen?
Probably the mod isn't compatible or the version of java is exceeding the memory use and a 64xbit java would probably fix it.
Tried what you said (updated to java 64 bit) didn't help. Heres the error I got if you want to take a look at it.

-crash report-
What are all of the mods you have installed?
I have Mo creatures, Humans, Kings essential mods + dragon tools + prefix creepers and Kodaichi Revival Battle towers. I tried using the previous version of your texture pack and it does not crash when I click Mod settings. I just want to take this time to say that I love this texture pack btw :].
Would anyone prefer Misa's mobs over the bumpmaft ones? I've been thinking of moving in that direction for the time being. I'll attempt to super-sample them and increase their resolution, but I almost like them as they are.
I definitely prefer Misa's. Bumpmaft's seems eh.. Girly almost? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's not my cup of tea.
damn 256x256 pack is always crashing... damn is there way to fix this?
Sometimes it hard for people to fathom that minecraft is really poorly coded. I'm not hating minecraft, just it's interior. =D
Anyway, it takes huge amounts of memory to run high resolution packs. Some ways to help remedy crashing would be downloading Java 64bit or decreasing to the 128x128 pack.
Beyond that it's more or less the computer's specs are incapable.

That's alot of mods that I'm unfamiliar with and likely has a conflict with the high resolutions.

Is that Depth of Field I see there? O_O
Must have!
Indeed it is. ^^
It's only on the low resolutions pack for the moment. My computer crashed when trying on the 256x256. XD
I may need someone to experiment with it when I have the normal maps made.

It would improve some fps with Misa's because of the lower res animals bouncing up and down repeatedly. This also came with an idea that I make a "barebones" pack with only the terrain.png and a few small improvements to keep fps as a peak without losing quality.

Hello!
I have the 256x256 version and it is awesome! Well done!!
Only one question: Where are the missing paintings?
Almost half of them are lost.
Thanks!
I've never got around to making paintings, but since people keep saying that there is a few missing, I'll look into it. :wink.gif:
I use 128x128, Simply because I love my FPS :biggrin.gif:
I get 15FPS on 256x256.
You my fine man, Are too epic. Too epic....
For that, You get all the HQ diamonds I mined
(If you cant count, Its 10. Lol)

So many diamonds... (snatches)
Thanks, I've been working quite hard to try and give these high resolution packs a good name. I've had a rough weekend swamped with work and hours of shoveling snow out of my driveway, so the updates I wanted to come this early week are being push back. =/
But a wierd thing appears on the top of the 128x128 pack, The top of the grass is darker than the sides... Dark green vs Light... Wierd, Oh and when I get some moolah, I'll definately donate to help you in your future projects.
I'll post a picture if you want
EDIT-----
And Like I said, I will definitely donate when I get some cash to donate.
EDIT2-----
Oh and I will continue to use this and never go back.
BTW the first edit was not critisim. Is the 256x256 pack better? I might get that :biggrin.gif:

Unfortunately that isn't my domain to fix. =(
The game was only programmed to have biomes on the top sides of grass which results in things like that. I have found a mod, but it conflicts with both the wild grass and better grass mods.
I decided to keep it a mellow green color because it seems to meet halfway between the desert regions tans/browns and the tropic/tundra regions darker greens.
The 256x256 receives the updates first, good or bad. It's like the trial and error pack so I can fix things before it gets to the 128x128 pack. I've got an update coming today if you want to hold off for a bit and wait to download to try it. ^^
Oh christ, I'd forgotten that update was soon :happy.gif:
I had forgotten completely until I tried to test some of my new textures out today and noticed a new update was available. Without thinking I accepted. Big mistake. =/
You'll have fun skinning all the new stuff :tongue.gif:
Gives me something to do today for sure. ^^
The beds are a nice addition and I have no idea what those redstone box things do so I'm not quite sure where to go with that yet.
cant wait to see the changes.. use a lot of your stuff in my personal pack... been busting balls on my own 128x pack the last week...and now... ugggh... just finished piecing together every norm texture and got the chest/furnace/workbench done finally...was dreading making the others and trying to get my ores the way I want them...and now a patch went and screwed the whole terrain file setup... the realism in your pack, aza's and sanguine is what inspired me to start my own :tongue.gif:
I have recently purchased Minecraft and I've been using Koolwitak's HD Texture pack, however I just recently stumbled upon this because I was trying to see if I can go even higher and it seems that so far we are as high as 256x256 thanks to your hard work.
I'm hoping that my system will be able to handle the 256x256 textures, I'm on an OC'd Q6600 @ 3.4GHz and an OC'd GTX560-Ti @ 1.0GHz.
I'm hoping that you are planning on releasing your texture pack for the recent 1.3 BETA update. I guess if you do so, then I'd be more than happy to support your cause and throw you some bones :smile.gif:
Unfortunately I really like parallax and specular mapping as well/: and it only works with less exciting packs like "minecraft enhanced" as far as I know. Even though the textures on that pack are much lower quality, the bump mapping effect is just too cool. I find myself staring at what was once a boring hallways playing with torches, until i realize the rest of the world is bland and revert back to your pack, lol
I saw some screenshots that looked like you are working on something similar would I be correct?
Or am I just dreaming!
:happy.gif: Thanks, it's really Kat_Sith's idea and Saro's amazing work with MCEdit. I've just been injecting as much time as possible into it because it's a bloody INSANE project that I think is going to be a lot of fun. Once we've got the map up you should come on and build some stuff ^^
Yea, I watched his progress through building the entire infrastructure of roads. Is the entire city 1:1 ratio or at this point are you fellas just kind of guessing close enough?
I'll have to get on there sometime when I'm not so swamped with schoolwork and fixing this bloody pack. XD

I'm currently working getting the pack 1.3 compatible. Things are going fairly smooth for now at least, lol.
Bones would be appreciated. :wink.gif:

It's quite a pain to revamp everything once an update comes out. I'm glad I could be of some inspiration. =D
Personally, Sanguine and Misa were my first inspirations to do something like this.

Indeed I am working on something of the sort. =)
I need to use another computer to test the mapping and specular lighting to make sure they are correct because of my incompatible card. I have my mid-winter break off of college next week so expect a release then. ^^
Hey Scuttles, I tossed $10 your way. Here's to hoping that the move to 1.3 isn't too much work. :biggrin.gif:
WOW! =D
In that case, 1.3 update is going great, lol. I think a donation like that deserves a sneak peak.
I'm thinking I'll post up a download for the 1.3 update separately later tonight so everyone will atleast have it ready when the hd patcher is fixed.
Edit:
If anyone knows what those boxes do, it could really help with designing them.

The city is done on a 'real to life' scale, meaning that the scale of it is governed by the fact that road lanes are approximately 2m wide. The length is done to an approximation but we have a fantastic map for reference and it looks pretty spot on from what I can see.
Raccoon City was never really fully opened up, so this will allow some artistic licence to a degree. It's going to be massive.
It'd be great to have you on board to create when you're not busy texturing and what-have-you :biggrin.gif:
Most impressive. I'm interested to see how the zombies and the guns will go. I know there is a gun mod out there that basically increased the velocity of arrows to an extremely and adds in a separate sound when shot, but I haven't heard of a mod that only spawns zombies though it doesn't seem too hard to mod. Another thought for it is to increase the sight range of the zombies so they charge at you from a greater distance away.
Again, that's a most impressive and there is so much potential there. =D

You're Raccoon City is looking amazing, btw. That's really some impressive work and the sheer size of it is just unbelievable.
