No matter what I do I get white boxes with running 128 and 256 versions. I've tried allocating RAM anywhere from 512MB to 3GB and it still doesn't work. Here's the relevant specs of my system:
there is 2 512x512 texture packs one is called vector but the guy that made it did not strive for realism he strived for quality
and then there is pb photo realistic which comes in 16x16 32x32 64x64 128x128 256z256 and finally 512x512 which is very realistic
i am alloting 9 gigabytes of memory to java for the 512x512 yet i am still getting the minecraft has run out of memory error
please help
Use the new Optifine and it will work. When I had that problem before, I saw a post way back on this topic that spoke of Optifine and it helped me when installed.
Sorry to disturb you, but your mods changed 2 items from the new Aether mod and they now use the icon for water. It's the Life Shard (Block D: 18067) and the Golden Feather (Block ID: 18068)
Can you please look into this?

I do not have any support for the Aether mod as of right now so I have no fixes for that at the moment.
I'm waiting until 1.8 release to see if Notch's sky mod makes the Aether redundant.
Let's hope. The main page might say more about it's release date...Oh, and Notch is taking it out of beta. It will be released as a FULL version.
No. That's not until November 11th, and presumably 2.0. This would also be the earliest Mojang would add mod support. I've also seen nothing about a sky dimension in 1.8...
That would certainly be awesome. So much potential will come with that. It's still coming late this month, right?
how the mods will work is notch will give devs the code for updates beforehand so they won't all break. Also they will get signed and be built in the game. also i hope theres a way to enable/disable them so that i can use them in creative mode but not normal because sometimes mods take the fun out (like flymod and toomanyitems). But other stuff that adds to the game can be kept in survival. Also i wonder how it will work if we can run multiple mods and the game will only take the modified code or if you can only run a few mods like right now.
And its supposed to come late this month or early next month.
No. That's not until November 11th, and presumably 2.0. This would also be the earliest Mojang would add mod support. I've also seen nothing about a sky dimension in 1.8...
Theres a sky dimension, pigman villages, Endermen, Possibly sprinting, possibly chargeable bows (hold down right click) and a few other things.
Onto the texture pack, It's amazing! I like the cobble one a lot. The only thing is, tools/non placable items are a big blob of white. Is this fixed in optofine?
Ok another problem, this time on my work computer. Seems my video card doesn't seem to like the texture pack. Note that I've only tried with the 256x version. Video card is an Nvidia GTX 560 Ti with the latest drivers. I'm also using the latest version of LWJGL
Those are what you call artifacts, You're GFX card is getting to hot or you overclocked it to much and mainly it's the memory on the card that are warming up. :smile.gif:
Ok I'll look into it. I haven't OC it but perhaps the fan isn't working properly or something.
EDIT: I don't think it's a heat problem. I cranked the fan speed up to 100% and I'm still getting the issue. Trust me, the fans are definitely working. Anyway it happens with the x128 pack as well. I can't see either the 256 or 128 causing a problem with that video card.
I love this texture pack and the 256 works and looks great. I wanted to see what the RPG pack was like but it simply will not work for me and gives the out of memory error. I did the steps to fix the error upping java to 11g of my 24g but still will not work.

Sky dimension was one of the first things he posted about the 1.8 update. I couldn't find it in the "tweets", but I'm not very good with Twitter. =S
It basically was made when the Aether mod came close to release.

That's been a plague for quite a while. It's related to insufficient memory so either increasing your Java heap size or using Optifine should fix it.

You could try a lower resolution of the RPG pack. ;D
Do you need a computer from the future to run the 512x512 texture pack? I have a i7 overclocked to 4.5 with the Noctua D14 cooling, a asus p67 motherboard 12gb of ripjaws x series ram and a twin frozr gfx card and it still wont run...
How to install:
The HD patcher is required and can be found here: http://www.minecraft...f=1021&t=252531
Follow the instructions on the patcher's main post before posting issues here.
-Download the pack with your desired resolution
-Download the HD Patcher
-Run HD Patcher and press "Patch"
-Place Texture pack into "texture pack" folder
-Play
If only it were that simple. Having done all this I can use every other HD Pack i can find, but not LB Photo Realism 128x128 and UP. JAVA crashes with the following report:

I managed to somehow get rid of the white boxes but after I rebooted my computer from windows updates the boxes are back and I can't get rid of them.
Any help would be appreciated because I really like this texture pack.
EDIT: Ok let me clarify, I get white outlines around stuff. The textures are still there, but the outlines are white. Here's a screen shot.
EDIT 2: Had to turn off Anisotropic Filtering to fix the issue.

That's OK, My nephew told me that 1.8 will have mod support directly from the devs. Is that correct? If so, I'll wait for 1.8 also.

You could try a lower resolution of the RPG pack. ;D
Also try this .bat file to see if that will help you run it: http://www.mediafire.com/?uw604n7a2grzf74
If you want to, I'd be alright with that. Be sure to post it here or send a link. ^^
You need to allocate 2gb memory to it and have 64 bit java http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp in addition to using mcpatcher or optifine.
