you may have been asked this already: Would you be planning to create textures for the Aether mod? You don't have to answer me if you've discussed this already but I would love to encourage you! Your textures coupled with the aether world would be amazing. Just a thought.
thanks for the fantastic work you're putting into this game. Folks like you make Minecraft all that it is.
cheers,
d

In the immediate future I do not have any plans on making textures for the Aether mod. Notch is adding a sky realm of some sort with this adventure update (Rumor has it) so I'm waiting until then. Someone ambitious enough may create the textures for the Aether. Make sure to PM me first if you wish to take up the task. ;D
From my experience, it is simply impossible to run a texture pack of any resolution higher than x64 on 32-bit java. It doesn't seem to matter how much memory you allocate. It is almost like java can't stream the memory fast enough (for lack of a better term). This is just what I have noticed, as I have tested this on multiple machines. Once I make the jump to 64-bit java, everything magically gets so much better.
you just need a good cpu and gpu. it doesn't matter how much ram you have. with a high end gpu and cpu on windows xp you can easilly allocate 2gb and run a high res if you have the good hardware and can find windows xp drivers for it.
i got the texture pack and i've tried many times and i cant get it too work :sad.gif: i love your work and i wish i could use the pack!! i run MAC OS snow leopard. (yet to get lion) and i would love it if i could get some assistance helping me install the texture pack, i compress all the files into a .zip folder and put it into the texture pack folder, run the game and go into the texture packs page and its there, but when i click it and click done, it crashes and to get minecraft running again i have to remove the texture pack. please help :sad.gif: i love the texture pack and wish i could use it so bad!
hey Scuttles... been playing with your cactus and ladder to get the mapping right for use right now in my pack(and to make them not so flat).. minor modifications... but
Another question that I should ask: Do you guys think that the new pack needs a new thread as well or keep it as is?
I think that if the packs got split into separate topics then it might cause the LB Photo Realism pack to receive much less attention, which is not something I want since even though this new pack looks amazing, Photo Realism is still my favorite :biggrin.gif: So I think you should keep them together.

Haha, I hated that ladder texture but I've never gotten around to changing it. Nice work on the cactus, though. It's looking insanely well.

True enough. I'd hate for fans to stop loving the Realism pack as it's a personal favorite of mine as well. =)
Does this texture pack have bump mapping because i saw a vide of it with bump mapping and i can seem to find the terrai_nh and terrain_s??? Help please

You can find them at 256x bumpmapping video description. The link to the video is at OP.
Yea I guess it all depends on the hardware then. I just could not get the x128 texture pack going on 32-bit, even with like 2gb of ram allocated.
I should have the GUI finished tonight or tomorrow for the RPG pack (EST).
Do you guys think I should add these to the LB Photo Realism pack as well or leave the GUI as is?

Thanks, mate. I couldn't have done it without the help of Aageon. ^^

Should I use the GUI from the RPG pack in the Photo Realism pack?

Yeah, you should add them to the LB Photo Realism pack as well.
New thread imo.

Curse PremiumI think GUI is more RPG theme than photo realism. Don't make a new thread until your LB RPG Realism is big enough.

Curse PremiumI have OptiFine installed with it, so that might be the issue. It also take forever to load.
EDIT: I also seem to get the out of memory error no matter what I do.
Yea, definitely add.
Not really, those two packs are tied together, its just easier to have all the news and discussion in one place)

Hmmm... Have you patched with the HD patcher?

Then I shall. =D
The x512 requires a batch file which is floating around here somewhere.... Ah, here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?uw604n7a2grzf74
From what I got from the fans, I'll add the new GUI, but make some modifications for it to fit into the LB Photo Realism theme. =)
Thanks for the input. I think I'll rearrange the first post a bit for easier understanding of the two separate packs.

I forgot I was working on it when I got distracted with a GUI...
