To everyone having problems: You should have heeded my warning about using texture packs that are so high a resolution. However, as I know many of you want to try such texture packs, I have created a tutorial that should help all of your problems:
Ok, clearly my point hasnt gotten accross... I typed it exactly as above, which gives java 2556 megabytes of allocated ram. Supposedly. It hasnt worked, so i'm clearly doing something wrong.
So, for arguments sake, PLEASE pretend that A: I am a techno-idiot, and B: because I am an idiot, you should give idiot-proof step-by-step instructions (even including stupid little things: they might make all the difference)
Additionally, I apologize for saying clearly twice in close succession.
I'm going step by step to see if you missed anything.
1. Download minecraft.jar for linux at minecraft.net and put it on desktop.
2. Open notepad.
3. Copy and paste the batch code.
4. Click save as and type minecraft.bat or anynamehere.bat
5. Choose the desktop as the save location
6. Choose the file type as All files instead of txt file.
7. Click save. Now run the batch file.
8. ???
9. Profit!
If you're still getting out of memory errors which you shouldn't get, edit the batch 2556M to 3096M or higher.
oh my god....
i get 45 fps on your 512 pack and i get 150 in 256!
it looks so good! i really like this pack rpg and realism! this is why this is the best pack ever!
no one can even run it to say it sucks!

I simply cant put into words. but you guys have OUTDONE yourselves!!! I have never seen such texture, such realisms, its as if im being sucked into an altenate WORLD that can still be described as minecraft (you know, cause its blocky) but IM GIVING YOU ALOT OF PRAISE ON THIS!! just love installing it now!
ok so i LOVE the LB Photo Realism Pack.
ive been using it for a little over a week playing mc practically 24/7 just because of the pack.
its awesome.

very few little buggies ive seen but theyve all already been pointed out so good work. great in fact.
im in the process of downloading the RPG pack n its taking a long time.
jus for further reference u may want to find a way to shorten it if possible. but ill check that pack out for about a week n then ill probably write another little review of that.
either way.
LB Photo Realism = BEST HD PACK EVER.
in my humble oppinion :tongue.gif:
thank you so much for this pack. ive been looking for a long time to find a nice hd pack
I figured since it was x512 that I will spare no expense on making it the most graphically enhanced version of minecraft possible. Even if it consists of large animations.
Please help me! How use x512 textures? I put x512 texturest into folder texturepacks, and it does not work
I Open Minecraft with x512 textures and see that...

Dear peolpe i need help =(
Use the HDpatcher or Optifine to patch your jar. Also you might want to use the batch file to allocate more RAM.
Scuttles I like the new cobblestone and sand texture! The RPG pack is coming along nicely!
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the wildgrass mod working with Optifine? I discovered that it causes all grass blocks to become invisible with me, which I'm assuming is resulting from class conflicts...I think the x512 would look even better with wildgrass running XD
yes, but the wildgrass sprites need to be in the terrain.png ... that is why i asked if it could ever be compatible
Ah, yes. Not for quite a while, though. I have other things left to do on the terrain before I start adding in mods (As much as I love wildgrass I may cave early)

Thank you. I'm hoping to have the terrain done real soon. It's coming along quite nicely so far.
I'm not sure how to fix the conflicts between the two mods. I'm very rough with working with Java.
Gotta say, I love the new detail that the 256x256 brings into Minecraft. Makes it feel so much different.
Keep up the good work, 'cause I'm lovin' it. Although I haven't even tried the 512x512 yet for fear of my computer.
The x512 certainly is something else. I will always be attached to my x256 pack, but as I continue to work on the RPG pack I feel myself pulling towards it.
I like the texture pack but my computer sucks and can't run HD texture packs, so I'd like to thank you for making the 16x16 and 32x32 as well. Both download links works an Minecraft continues to run normally. Great work!
Quite welcome. In the future I will better refine the lower resolutions so that I can get the maximum quality from them instead of the simple down-sample.

So You Want to Run Minecraft

Wow, that's absolutely beautiful!
Thanks. I really appreciate the support. ^^

Technically already is compatible. From what I've read it just has to be compatible with wildgrass which it is.
Excellent. =D
Edit:
Must have accidentally closed the tab with the fire fix. Sorry, pcmaster Thanks for posting the fix. I was one pixel off, as per usual. XD
Optifine is optimine/optifog together. I haven't had any issues with the mod so far. It's been boosting my FPS quite dramatically.
Okay thank you!
I Open Minecraft with x512 textures and see that...
after 5-6 sec.

I just used HDpatcher and see that
Yep, you definitely need a batch file to allocate more RAM. Check my post on last page of how to make one.

no problem loving the new fire texture. keep up the great work!

upgrade your computer.
for the x512 texture pack you need a computer $1000 or more on average.

Thank you, sir. ^^
The trap door? I just kind of "winged" it and forgot to test it in game. What way should it be facing?
The x512 certainly is something else. I will always be attached to my x256 pack, but as I continue to work on the RPG pack I feel myself pulling towards it.
