well, seeing as the 512x512 is only: "Terrain, custom water, custom lava, custom fire" and it's already 84 MB, i would say that when it is done, it will be at least 150 MB if not more.
OH and Scuttles, i am really sorry to post this, because i know you work really hard on these packs, and i also know that with a 512x it's even more fiddly, but this happened:
you know what i mean, don't you :sad.gif:
:sad.gif: i noticed it too. but fire looks epic other than that. hopefully its not a issue with how minecraft handles fire textures
How did you get wild grass (terrain) to wave? >_> with GLSL I can't get it to, ever, even with the fixed base.vsh. (I can get wheat, leaves, flowers, etc. all to wave, but not grass that's part of terrain.png.)
I must be doing something wrong. I've tried using the HD patcher, but the game doesn't show the texture pack in the menu, and I tried optifine to enable HD textures to no avail.
I have both the 512 and 256 packs in my texture folder. What am I overlooking?
Nevermind, I totally herp derped. Been so long since I've used a custom texture pack I forgot you need to copy the archive file over, not the extracted folder.
Pro tip: When creating the terrain_nh textures, have all transparent parts 100% white, so when you create the parallax map they come out as non-transparent. This fixes warping texture issues.
(So just create a different layer _beneath_ the one you are working on and fill it up with white)
For the terrain_nh, you can just grab the original texture, and do a black color overlay for all the textures that are not going to have specular stuff showing up. (leaving all transparent parts transparent)
thanks. well i fixed the transparent issue. but i gave up lol.
looking forward for your shaders and stuff in the future. but im fine with mipmaping in optifine...

I made a fix!
It was simply a bled pixel. I moved everything down one in the animation and copied the last pixel row twice. Looks no different but the fire on top is fixed.
I simply cant put into words. but you guys have OUTDONE yourselves!!! I have never seen such texture, such realisms, its as if im being sucked into an altenate WORLD that can still be described as minecraft (you know, cause its blocky) but IM GIVING YOU ALOT OF PRAISE ON THIS!! just love installing it now!
ok so i LOVE the LB Photo Realism Pack.
ive been using it for a little over a week playing mc practically 24/7 just because of the pack.
its awesome.
period.
very few little buggies ive seen but theyve all already been pointed out so good work. great in fact.
im in the process of downloading the RPG pack n its taking a long time.
jus for further reference u may want to find a way to shorten it if possible. but ill check that pack out for about a week n then ill probably write another little review of that.
either way.
LB Photo Realism = BEST HD PACK EVER.
in my humble oppinion :tongue.gif:
thank you so much for this pack. ive been looking for a long time to find a nice hd pack
ok... how do you use that batch file? I put it in a text file, changed the .txt to .bat, ran it, and still when i double click the minecraft thing and login, i get the out of memory error almost immediately.

That's strange. Do you have linux minecraft.jar? Do you save as namehere.bat and select all files? Make sure you type right amount of RAM. 2-2.5GB is enough to run 512x.

Ok, clearly my point hasnt gotten accross... I typed it exactly as above, which gives java 2556 megabytes of allocated ram. Supposedly. It hasnt worked, so i'm clearly doing something wrong.
So, for arguments sake, PLEASE pretend that A: I am a techno-idiot, and B: because I am an idiot, you should give idiot-proof step-by-step instructions (even including stupid little things: they might make all the difference)
Additionally, I apologize for saying clearly twice in close succession.
Great job dude...
now my only question...which is the best texture pack? (I mean it's LB photo realism, duh)
What I really mean is, what are the 'rpg versions' and the x256 and x512?
I assume x512 is the best but it's currently in development so what should I use now?
:sad.gif: i noticed it too. but fire looks epic other than that. hopefully its not a issue with how minecraft handles fire textures
you put speculars on the wall? nice
btw how did you get speculars not to change how cobwebs look. i've tried putting the cobweb white and everything around it black and it didn't help...
Have a link?
If you find anything let me know, really wanna try the 512

You need minecraft.jar for linux.

To fix simply drag the two files in the texture pack zip replacing the current fire images.
Heres the link:

I was thinking about using adf.ly on this but lol thats just wrong.
NOTE: this is only for the x512 texture pack
Also a screenshot for proof i guess.
Are you allocating RAM to java by using the batch file?
Uh no? I did it via the way in the opening post, via the java control panel.
That won't work. Try using this batch file.
