Lol, quite correct. I worked on the pack quite religiously yesterday to the point of a headache. XD
I will be releasing another update quite soon with many more textures on the terrain. I REALLY hope to get this done soon so I can move on to the items.png. ^^
I like your rpg pack. But, could you make it have brighter colors on the sand and wooden planks? I could hardly tell that the sand was sand because it looked more gray than yellowish. Besides that, It looks great. I'm currently using your 64*64 pack for both the rpg and the normal pack. These are my favorite packs so far! Keep up the great work!
jaruca
I'm trying to remedy the sand issue right now and I'll see what I can do with the wood planks. Thanks for the critique. I really appreciate it. =)
I like what you have going on, and the incredible following you have built up.
I would like to say that there is only two more major projects to tackle on my texture pack before the main majority of it is my created content! Too bad it's the items.png and the mobs :/
I remember when you first made the pack, and I was blown away by the graphics, and I still look forward to seeing all of the developments on your pack!
I am in the process of creating a unique alternate to the current faces of minecraft.
I hope you check it out when it's done! It will include the mods necessary in the installation of the pack itself.
Congratulations on your continuing success Scuttles! :smile.gif:
Thank you. =)
I also had a strong distaste for the items.png, lol. Something about it just really grinds my nerves. To be honest, I still haven't weeded out all of the placeholders that I used on my LB Realism pack. AaGeOn and Misa (With their consent) still have a huge influence.
Sometimes I'll read through my first few posts trying to figure out how it all happened again.
Most certainly! Send me a PM when it's finished. I barely get outside my thread anymore. Sadly, enough. =(
Also, thanks for posting on the front page. A lot of time goes into those videos, mainly prep work testing out everything. The editing is actually rather easy for the most part. But Aageon helped tremendously actually for Cinemacraft 2 and the growth of my youtube channel.
You are quite welcome. I really loved that video. =)
complaints on 16x16 cacti looks crappy (lol) grass i don't know if its supposed to look like that but other wise good i have a preety crapy comp so i cant run 64x64 at all i go to 1 fps and 5
The x16 is a simple downscale for the time being when I start to be less overwhelmed I'll go back over and start polishing up the pack.
Anyone have some advice on what I can do to fix my 1-2 fps on a 128 or 256x texture pack? I've started a fresh jar file, and have the 64bit java running the lastest update. Java is also set to 2gigs for allocated ram.
System Specs:
Amd 3.2gig Dual core processor
Ati Radeon5750 HD
4 Gigs OCZ ram Overclocked Edition

OMG pazaz its not you! you stopped being lazy and made an avatar!
Hey, love the tex pack, but I seem to stutter at a perfectly exceptable fps of around 60-70. I have tried allocating more memory to Minecraft with no resolve. My computer has plenty of ram and a good vid card and cpu. It should be able to handle this in the way I see it. Also, I had to re-install this texture pack and after I did the fore mentioned problem began happening. Idk whats going on so any help would be appreciated.
i don't really know if anyone fixed this yet. i think its when the cpu is loading chunks more than its updating the frames with movement. just wait for chunks to load then its fine for me.
How the **** did you get 4GB on a 32 Bit system... I'm calling in HackBusters in this hood.
And no, You can't install anything 64-Bit on a 32-Bit system.
Hey guys. I'm having issues with the "Minecraft running out of memory" with the RPG pack. I can run the Photo Realism pack flawlessly, but not the RPG pack. I tried setting the parameters to "-Xmx4096m" which is four GB, which should be fine with my system, cnsidering I have 8 GB of RAM. Does anyone possibly know what I am doing wrong? Thanks!
if minecraft runs out of memory minecraft will crash and if it can't allocate the memory you won't be able to start minecraft. which one is it? because if minecraft crashed at 4gb thats insane. and if you can't allocate it you need x64 java installed.
You need to install bump/parallax/specmapping shaders.
Ok, I don't mean to sound ungrateful for the advice, but that wasn't really of any help. You basically just told me "you gotta go do that one thing over there." without pointing at what you were talking about.
None of the files have any sort of readme, nor do any of the packs. Minecraft mods have just been going so strong that everyone who makes them assumes you know what you're doing. Which I don't.
Where are these shaders and how do I install them without screwing up GLSL Shaders that are installed that use the same filenames?

I made a reseach on that. It seems to be that microsoft set the limit of memory on 4Gb for a 32 bit system. So there should be no problem.
Alright, so unfortunately there is no chance to play with the 128x packs or higher ?
If you check the description of the vid on the first page, you'll see there's a shaders link aswel besides the terrain_nh and terrain_s. Unpack those and place them in the shaders folder inside the minecraft rar (replacing the ones you have now).
The ones in the download also have DoF besides parallax/specular mapping, and since you seem to have to mod working, just replacing the 3 shaderfiles should do the trick =).
I have unpacked those files into the shaders folder, and so far they've only managed to make the game blackscreen after the Mojang logo....course, that was when I was trying to install the GLSL manually instead of using MCpatcher. BRB, gonna try adding the shaders again.
Edit: WOOHOO! PARALLAX! SPECULAR SHININESS!
Kinda wierd how iron blocks have white highlights depending on the lighting and angle, but still fricken awesome!
Edit 2: Another question: Is it possible to disable only the DOF? It looks great and all, but it's messin with my eyes, lol.
Yea the white highlights are just part of the specular mapping, when toning it down too much you won't see anything if you don't have a torch/jack o lantern equiped.
But to the point, yes, you can disable Dof. In this case, you can just delete the final.fsh out of the shadersfolder. The only thing it is doing in these specific shaders is add the DoF. With other shaders (you can find many more in the GLSL thread/wiki attached to it) you can just open the final.fsh (right click, open with notepad should do the trick) and add // in front of the "options" you don't want. Often explained in short on top in that shader.
But for now, far more easy, just delete the final.fsh.
The 256x256 textures are running fine but the textures look really grainy from a distance.. is this normal :S?
It's due to how MC renders textures in the distance. Either get the mipmap mod, GLSL with FSAA and enjoy 10fps, or open up your video card driver window and force AA and see how it looks.

Quite welcome. I'm glad you are enjoying them. ^^
Thank you. I love huskies. ^^
Charlie is a really nice name. We used to have a terrier named Charlie.
Thank you. =)

Hmmm... I'll check into it. I haven't had any issues on my end. Maybe optimine/optifog mipmapping?
Congrats on the Cinemacraft2 Video. ^^
Oh, amazing bumpmapping work on your pack. Can't wait to see that reach it's full potential.

Have you downloaded Optifine?

Have you downloaded Optifine?
Ill give it a shot and see how it works. Thanks
It works fantastic now , Thank you very much
yes and optifine works too (and better)

GLSL shader IS updated to 1.7.3. Go to GLSL thread and the update link is on page 215.
oh and im using the radeon hd graphics card
a radeon hd graphics card means nothing we need to know which one.

Very awesome. Thanks for all the help, man.
use mipmaping in optifine or gsgl shaders
It's due to how MC renders textures in the distance. Either get the mipmap mod, GLSL with FSAA and enjoy 10fps, or open up your video card driver window and force AA and see how it looks.
It is. It happens a lot in other games that have high-res textures in the distance with no mipmapping or dof blur.
