3-4Gb is enough for x512.(don't forget to allocate it)

Just Learned and figured out how to Fix the Out Of Memory problem easy and fast!
DO not use minecraft.exe anymore as it will never fix the out of memory error as people have thought/said.
1. Go to minecraft.net and download the minecraft.jar in the linux/other(for Windows)
2. Make a folder Called Minecraft, drag the minecraft.jar file in there.
3. Next Right Click in the folder go to new, and click new document.
4. Inside the document paste java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame (or -Xmx2048M) depends on the amount of RAM you have
5. SAVE AS, run.bat then save. Now you should have the minecraft.jar, the new text document and Run all in the folder click and Run and all works well.
notice you run it from the .minecraft folder not .minecraft\bin
I've been searching this thread for better instructions but I just can't get these to even show properly in the mod chooser - they're grayed out.
I've started with a vanilla copy of 1.7.3 mc, used mcpatcher to install the hd fixes, as well the glsl mod (found in the forums, stated 1.7.3 compat, but listed as 'unofficial').
When I launch Minecraft, any size of the new LB RPG textures are just unavailable. Grayed out, does nothing when selected.
Have I missed something?
I'd say just try it in-game. The RPG Realism pack is only a terrain at the moment and won't change anything until you load up a world.
I cannot believe how long it took me to get this texture pack running smoothly. For everyone experiencing errors I encourage you to wait for a stable solution to texture packs higher than 256x256.
Here are some screenshots of the 512x512 texture pack. Hopefully work on all of the textures besides in the ones in "terrain" will be finished soon. Enjoy Minecraft, for the first time, in full 512x512 resolution:

Wow, excellent screenshots.
I'd have to agree with you. The x512 is almost too much. XD
I'm sticking with the x256 for the sake of stability and FPS.
Hey, I have the latest 64 bit Java and I'm using 4GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 430 GT graphics card and an AMD Athlon II X2 220 Processor. I've HD patched the RPG pack, and allocated all 4 GBs of my RAM to Java and I still get the out of memory message. Is there anything I'm not doing that could help?
Follow the instructions: put the minecraft.jar file in a folder called Minecraft in the .minecraft folder. Then make a text file inside the Minecraft folder with the jar file and paste in it java -Xmx4096M -Xms2048M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame. Save as a bat file and run the bat file. It's worked for me now, but I'm getting very low FPS. But it looks great.

Life is a Learning Curve.... Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
All that seems to do is load a never ending scroll of the message in command prompt. Is that meant to happen? I followed your instructions to the letter.
Yes, had to wait 2 minutes for it to finish, but it worked.

what do you mean with the nether mod? there are only a aether mod
There is a Nether mod called Nether craft from Scokeev9 I think the modders name is (might be spelled different) but there is a nether mod so he was right. :smile.gif:
Hey great job on the texture pack. Very excited for the up coming RPG texture pack. Also I was reading and you said " These are the current supported textures for some mods.I will be working on expanding this tenfold over the course of this summer. =)". If you are still trying to do this, their is a mod called Wallpapers. By Kaevator, it adds a new item to the game if you can quess, it is wallpaper. Well if I new how to put a picture up I would but you should check out this mod.
Hi - I'm using 256 version of the mod and it lags allot.. I have my java heap size at 4 GB but its still really bad.. any ideas? I'm running x64 bit OS and JRE (java run-time environment)

Usually the updates in Minecraft start to hog up more and more memory. I'd suggest installing 64bit Java if you haven't already.

Thank you. :smile.gif: I will try it out without any other mods to see if that's the problem. Diamonds for you for helping me
Holy ****, it looks so real. Time to bring out the lawnmower. :smile.gif:
I've took myself a project:
make a blended texture pack, so i pretty sure i need to ask permission from the creatures to take their items and put them in my blended one.
So, can i take a few guis, maybe items and put them in my blended texture pack?
(I can take no as an answer)
Namro
Mix packs are really frowned upon around here so create them at you're own risk. As long as you give proper credit, it's fine by me.
More pictures of the wild wheat/ferns. I can't wait to start working on the wildgrass textures.
Btw, mipmapping is almost required for the x512. XD
What's your specs?
I get "Could not load net.minecraft.LauncherFrame"
