I created an account just to ask, how do you increase your java memory without the MCPatcher? I've tried the .bat method, and tried setting the runtime parameters, but neither work! And I can't use the MCPatcher because I need optimine + optifog to even have a chance of running the LB RPG x512, i've tried to give minecraft as much memory with the MCPatcher as I can, but it would'nt cut it, I figure my only chance now is optimine. What does it take to run a x512 pack!?

Just Learned and figured out how to Fix the Out Of Memory problem easy and fast!
DO not use minecraft.exe anymore as it will never fix the out of memory error as people have thought/said.
1. Go to minecraft.net and download the minecraft.jar in the linux/other(for Windows)
2. Make a folder Called Minecraft, drag the minecraft.jar file in there.
3. Next Right Click in the folder go to new, and click new document.
4. Inside the document paste java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame (or -Xmx2048M) depends on the amount of RAM you have
5. SAVE AS, run.bat then save. Now you should have the minecraft.jar, the new text document and Run all in the folder click and Run and all works well.
notice you run it from the .minecraft folder not .minecraft\bin
if all else fails you can run in mcpatcher using the test minecraft button even with optimine u just can't go online and your achivements will reset using that method.
I get 50-70 fps with the 512x Texture pack, but it kinda laggs a bit strange.
I run minecraft with optime + optifog mt version [multithreaded] and 64 bit java. I also run minecraft with 2gb ram.
system:
Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
processor: Intel[R] Core[TM]i7 CPU [email protected]
RAM: 8 GB
Graphiccard: 2x Ati HD 4870 1GB [Crossfire]

turn down the video settings to raise fps. also enable smooth fps. if you didn't realize optimine (or as i liek to call it turbocraft) adds video settings.
Gave the 512 a spin, 50-100 FPS. I understand what people mean when they say its laggy. Its like your sensitivity is lower or something. Works ok though, perhaps with some further experiment it can work, looking good looks beauitful. Good job.
yes it requires a lot of power and turning down some settings.
Hi, Why isnt the water and lava showing for me? I'm using optifog so no need for hd patcher. help plz
he hasn't made x512 textures for anything but terrain yet. just drag everything from x256 into the x512 except terrain.png to fix that. then you will have all avalible x512 textures with x256 subsitutes.
I dont know how to quote. Forgot sorry. But its not just x512 its also x64 and such. Helps? I can barely run 512 so i use 64. I'm so sorry i forgot to mention that.

I tried that, but it laggs through.
I mean thats not really a lag, but it isnt smooth too.
Superb work as always man :smile.gif: I love the sand texture. The outline of the planks is irritating me but it's easy to live with it :tongue.gif: I came across something and i don't know if it's voluntary. I'll post the screenshot, look at the top of the chests, the texture is the same as the planks and it's kinda weird.
Can't get the 512 pack to run at all. Minecraft just stays on a black screen. I did the Java hack and it's still not working.

Well, scrapped the 512 version and got the latest 256 version (Version 6.1.0) and now I have lots of lag. Was running the 6.0.5 version before I saw this update.
NVM, fixed it by using a texture pack I was using before. Now the 6.1.0 version works OK. But would like to see what the 512 is like.

I've been using the 256 texture pack and have been LOVING. Will give the 512 a try tonight!!!
Was hoping to increase the gameplay a little more though and hopes someone will be able to assist me. For the life of me I cant find proper instructions and download locations for the bump mapping shader pack. I loved the video to bits and really want the extra eyecandy!
Can anyone please assist?
And yes I did not read through the whole topic so I might have missed it. Google did not help me find what I need though.
So can anyone help me with water and lava textures in about all the texture packs? I barely see a difference in 128x128 than 64x64 so i use 64x64 cuz i like the frames. So help?
Well to be honest my PC is quite old so I'd be happy with having the eye candy for the 256texture back too :unsure.gif:
And especially the awesome looking ore, would be awesome to get it working!
Remember everyone, if you have at least 8gigs of ram try to allocate 4gigs to java(if using the 512x pack) your fps should be fine then. As minecraft is a memory hog!

Life is a Learning Curve....
Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
yea that does seem annoying maybe he could change it so the wood ontop of chests goes in the opposite direction?

I guess bumpmap still not updated...

that's what I meant saying "not updated" - GLSL. Thought its not working with 1.7.3+LB Photo Realism ?
Theres an updated GLSL for 1.7.3 though its only for the default 128x128 texture pack. all other packs get white lines everywhere.
