First of all thx to Scuttles for all his work!(Im using x256 all the time)
Second - Thx to inthepastxx and Pazaz for the explanation of how to run x512 without "outofmemoryerror".
Now how Scuttles said its time for "constructive criticism" :smile.gif:
: On my x64win7 with Mincraft x512 running I get the output about 4Gb of RAM (but its OK cause I still have 4Gb free) :smile.gif:
Now about x512 textures. imho 3 things that I dont like: 1st. New Cobblestone looks great! I like it. But compare to Stone it looks too different(I mean color). 2nd. Wooden Plank looks too old (every building around me became 95years old :tongue.gif:). x256 wooden planks way better. 3rd. The Sand looks dirty... I like previous x256 version - it was ok not so yellow good texture. But in x512 it looks like Omaha beach(no swearing!) too dirty and dark. I think thats all.
p.s. New lateral side of "top green dirt" Looks great! and Gravel looks cool.
p.p.s. sorry 4 my english. ^^)

The 256x Sand used a mix of his old sand, with my new sand template, a while back he added that in. He started anew on the 512x though, and He'll change it up when he starts to update it more.
I've made the batch file and when I run it, it starts to do something but then nothing happens. Why doesn't it work to allocate more ram with Mcpatcher? I've had no problems running then x256 pack, but now I just keep getting out of memory error.
I can't seem to get the 512x512 pack working, Using either ther HD patcher or the optimine thing.... It always says out of memory I have a quad core @ 2.66 and 4 gigs of ram
You allocated the ram to Java? For 512 I would guess you need to allocate about 4 gigs of ram since I can run 128x with 1gb but can't run 256x. So even if you could get it working with 4 gigs of ram only on your computer, it would not run smooth at all.
Java runs default of 4xx mb, you need to allocate more. I don't know how to allocate more than 1gb, I can get up to 1gb but 2gb says something like can't create virtual machine.
I know it would take a while but I would really love a HD texture pack for the Aether mod. Thanks and pm me if you know any texture packs that support the aether :biggrin.gif:
LB RPG 512 lags for me :sad.gif: is it a problem with my specs?:
4gb ram
amd anthlon 4-core processor
nvidia 8800 (as far as I know, could be wrong)
...The game lags whenever I move, used latest version of MCPatcher to patch, textures load fine+fps is ok when paused/in inventory/remote etc.. But I lag (badly) upon moving?
Is it worth me just ignoring the 512x pack, and just to stick with regular LB then...? Or is there a fix for this? :tongue.gif:
I got only 3-10FPS and my computer specs is almost the same as yours..
Quad core, 4GB of Ram, and NVidia 9800 1GB..
I think this is hardware-side, but since the 512x texture pack has just been released recently (and it's still in early Beta), it's not fully optimized/stable yet.
So, I think we shouldn't use it , for now..
I allocated 2 gigs using the .bat method, and it made a HUGE difference! At last! Minecraft wouldn't even open before with the x512 pack, but I not only opened it but also ran it at a decent FPS for a little while. I didn't find it that great, though...I agree with the sand and wood planks looking very dark and muddy. I look forward to the x512 release of the actual Photorealism pack, though, because that one is awesome!
WHOSE COMPUTER can handle the 512x texture.
I have an I7 2nd gene 2600k overclocked to 5GHz, a Nvdia 560 EVGA, and GB of MHz ram,
I still get 2-10 FPS!!!!!

Your're Java is probably not updated to 64bit, my guess.

"And what have you done lately?" "Well... I've created two castles... A couple villages... Some Ships, well more like a navy... ok, ok, I've crated a world, that's what. What about you?" "Uh..."

what is your problem:
amd athlon is a pos proccessor
nvidia 8800 is a really old graphics card

your not going to be able to run it with anything that old with your graphics card.

you should be fine. wow 5ghz nice. wish my mobo could handle that oc. im at 4.5 and happy. how are you installing it? try using optimine with multithreading. gets me a good 100fps with a slightly better graphics card then you.
thank you, it works!!
I can run 512x texture pack now, without getting the Out Of Memory error!!
That should be stickied on the first page..

well the phenom is your problem. and also the gt 430. you need at least a radeon 400 series card.

PS I did allocate 4GB to Minecraft already.
Btw, 40~60fps
