This works as long as you don't make it higher than 1gb (aka 1024mb) because when I set mine to 2048 it said it can't create virtual machine or something like that.
Also since most of you won't read down in the comments, mine won't work without removing the lone java, so how it reads "Your java path here/javaw.exe" java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar "Your minecraft path here/minecraft.exe" you just need to change it so it says "Your java path here/javaw.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar "Your minecraft path here/minecraft.exe"
Edit: Although this made my minecraft run smoother and faster than ever, it still gives out of memory problem when trying to use 128x texture pack. And this is happening even though my minecraft has a memory limit more than double from before and I used to be able to run 128x.
Hello there
I've been using the last few versions of this mod (x128) and have been enjoying it.
However, recently some changes were made to the glass textures which in my opinion has detracted from the "minecraft" or "RPG" like experience and instead makes it look like an art-deco (or something like that) architectural programm owtte. Also, I believe there is a problem with the existing glass texture: the near side shows a iron outline to the glass. However, when looking through this is transparent on the opposing side. ie:
As you can see, this looks a bit wierd.
Another matter is the glowstone texture, again quite art deco. I don't mind it too much, and it looks right in the nether; just not in the "real world". It's a shame we can't have a seperate texture for reconstructed glowstone. Perhaps this is changed in the RPG pack?
Thanks for the texture pack- hope I havn't been too negative on you!
I like this style of Glass a lot more, it's more clean, however the Lighstone could use some changing up..

This is true with all glass textures in my experience, even the default ones.
Why no adf? I would really like to show some support, but i can't donate 'couse i don't have the cash, but i would click on the adf link. Oh and btw, thank you so much for the texture pack it's awesome :biggrin.gif:.
Make this texture pack compatible with the Aether Mod. Everyone will love you forever. Please, PLEASE add the Aether textures to this pack. It would be just.. just... amazing if you did. For the most part it would just be recolours and mob skins. Oh god, I'm begging you.

<Krilk33> omg i just went through a door adn everything exploded wtf
<Shylae> yeah, I moved my chests and rigged my old storage room with TNT. Stop trying to steal my diamond tools.
I'm able to get the texture pack working and such, except that water and lava do not show? What is causing this? I don't want to be walking into my demise by drowning or burning.

That happens to all glass textures. It's coded to do that for some reason. =S

I had a bunch of Aether textures sitting around, but I think I deleted them after being dissatisfied with the results. I'll have to try and find them.

I haven't got around to adding water or lava textures as of yet. I think I'll just use the LB liquids as placeholders for the time being.
So I had the 256 pack and it was great, but I had a few of those black-screen/heap space errors and I've done everything everyone has suggested to no avail. I've got a 64 bit Vista system and 4 gigs of ram, with 1, 2, and even 3 gigs allocated and I went to test the 512, for fun, and Minecraft will not even open anymore. I get the out of memory error right after the Mojang startup screen. I have uninstalled all versions of Java and replaced it with the newest JDK, as well...I just don't understand. I tried the HD patcher thing, too. Help?
Hi there, this texture pack really looks awesome!
But i have a question..
Could someone please tell me the differences between 16X, 32X, 64X, 128X, 256X and 512X?
And wich you have to choose, because i want to download it, but i dont know wich is best at all and for my PC
Please help me..
Thanks alot anyway!
Well, it's basically quality. The lower the number, the lower the quality of the textures and therefore the less stress it will place on Java. Select one based on how strong you think your computer is; mainly how much RAM you have. If you don't know, try 64x and if it is running strongly, then move up to 128x and then 256x, but if it is choppy or you run into heap space errors then move down to 32x and so on.
I can't seem to get the 512x512 pack working, Using either ther HD patcher or the optimine thing.... It always says out of memory I have a quad core @ 2.66 and 4 gigs of ram
I don't run out of memory, And I've got 4GB... Probably because I allocated 3GB + My processor is <3
As I stated before, 25FPS foward, 60FPS Up (Directions)
BUT, The 512x doesn't display the water for me o.o
guys download the x512 pack and paste in all the things from the x256 pack except terrain.png then you have all x512 thats currently done and x256 placeholders.
also you guys realize if you run out of allocated memory you need to have x64 java installed
also you need to hack the loader to load with a max of 2ish gb for x512 2gb for me at least and it will barley load and use all of it.
I'm loving the new wood texture and the old glass. Here's a question though. Is it possible to make this texture pack compatible with the Random Mobs mod? Or maybe it is already and I'm not doing something right. I've installed the mod via the instructions, but they're not appearing in the environment.

You don't need to 'hack' the loader - As you can just use a .bat to allocate more memory
Just Learned and figured out how to Fix the Out Of Memory problem easy and fast!
DO not use minecraft.exe anymore as it will never fix the out of memory error as people have thought/said.
1. Go to minecraft.net and download the minecraft.jar in the linux/other(for Windows)
2. Make a folder Called Minecraft, drag the minecraft.jar file in there.
3. Next Right Click in the folder go to new, and click new document.
4. Inside the document paste java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame (or -Xmx2048M) depends on the amount of RAM you have
5. SAVE AS, run.bat then save. Now you should have the minecraft.jar, the new text document and Run all in the folder click and Run and all works well.

How to Fix Most out of Memory Errors
1. Go to minecraft.net and download the minecraft.jar launcher
2. Create a folder that will contain the .bat and the .jar, Preferably on the desktop.
3. Open up notepad, Insert java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame (Xmx is the max, Xms is the minimum)
4. Save it into the folder that the .jar is in, Make sure you input run.bat as the name (You can change run to anything)
5. Run the .bat
6. ???
7. Profit!
i get out of memory on 512x , after that i cant enter to my Minecraft
and i need to remove it from my Texture pack Folder
Its impossible for my computer to run this texture pack ...

Anyway, I'm going to continue work on the x512 and get some small graphical glitches fixed with the x256 pack as well.
