I'm using 256x256 textures and they're so awesome. Only thing is that I can't manage to make OptiMine and MCRegion work with this texture pack? Can you confirm is it because of this texture pack or something else?
1)Fresh folder 2) Install Mcregion 3)Texture pack ( now it works fine for me)
4)OptiMine 5) BL+BG 6)Wildgrass ( i don't use optimine i hope it works like this ^^ ) - skip the optimine and see if you can play fine if it isn't working.
Game does not function after installing the 256 pack.
You see the Mojang logo in Hi-def but then the game appears to freeze, then it shuts itself down after a few seconds.
Might want to do a manual installation of the game. What other mods are you running with it as well. If you have a 64-bit system, have you tried to install 64-bit Java?
Unfortunately another possibility is that your computer can't handle the amount of memory it takes to run the 256 pack.

I've done everything in the right order using 256X256, wild grass, better light and better grass but after reaching the mojang symbol minecraft stops responding.
i'm on windows, BTW.
Did you do a manual install or through texture pack folder?

Not a huge deal, but the jukebox I think is off by a pixel around the bottom edges. I can see sky around it.
Fixed for the next update. ;D

Hey guys, Where Can You Download This Pack?
Near the bottom of the page... >.>
Should I put it somewhere else such as the top?
A little problem I found while placing paintings (x256). Not sure if you were aware already, but I thought I'd let you know. I've tried a clean install without mods, no change. :s
Edit: Strange, now it's all I'm getting. It's off and on. Hmm, wonder what's wrong
I keep getting this error. I deleted my .minecraft folder and started fresh and I'm still getting it. Sorry If i seem like an idiot but im new to using the patcher. Does this mean that my computer cant handle the 256?

I did both. Same result. I am running it on a crappy laptop so it may not be able to take the memory required. no texture for me until my gaming desktop is repaired.
Yea, laptops are most likely unable to run the higher resolution packs. I have one that can run the 256x256 on about 40 fps average and I certainly paid the price. It wouldn't have been worth it if I didn't travel so often.
Best of luck to your gaming computer.

Better Light & Zans Minimap, though that has no affect at all, because, Ive tried the mod without them aswell.
The 128 version works, but doesnt look as nice.
And Ive tried "installing" using both the patcher and manually.
64 Bit Java.
Ram is not an issue ROFL. Im not sitting on a Pentium 2 with Voodoo gfx.. And 128mb of DDR.
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=175512
Read that thread for my specs. What isnt mentioned is that I have 8GB DDR2 1066MHz.
Did you install Zan's after installing BL? I also though that BL + BG wouldn't work when you only selected one of those two instead of both.
Beast computer, btw.

Interesting. I'll look into the vanilla art.png and see what I've missed. Though, if it's hit and miss I'm not quite sure what it is.

I got 3 GB DDR2 and a GTX 250 and I got 5 fps with this texture pack :/
Sad day. =(
Restarting the computer has always helped me when it decides to do something like that.

The only thing I can think of for that is your patcher is maybe out of date. That used to be a common error before they patched in the 256x256 to be more compatible.
Game does not function after installing the 256 pack.
You see the Mojang logo in Hi-def but then the game appears to freeze, then it shuts itself down after a few seconds.
I have the same issue. Using Xau's newest patcher on a clean install of Minecraft. Was really looking forward to this! I've reinstalled three times just to verify.
Here's my specs if they help at all:
Windows 7 64 Home Prem
Core i7 950
6GB DDR3 mem
2x Radeon 6870's (Crossfire, not sure if this would have an issue?)

Crossfire could be an issue, but I'm quite sure why. It is possible the game wasn't program to detect it and you're running off of half the RAM.
I'm sorry I can't help much more. =(
I have 2 computers of very different specs and they both run flawlessly. It's hard for me to troubleshoot what I can't duplicated myself.
Again, I apologize and I hope you find something that works.
I've been using this since I bought Minecraft and I love it, this is the best texture pack out there by far! There is something about mining the hell out of a world which has gorgeous textures that is so entertaining!
Right... Time to go mine some stuff ^^
Haha, I'm quite flattered. Thanks for sticking with my pack. =)

I'm getting black wool from white sheep. And I just got a gray wool from a white sheep.
SAME !! Black wool from white sheep. (x256 pack)
I fixed that a while ago and will be released in the new update coming sometime today.
On another note. I've been debating on a different brick texture. The current one is kind of cluttered and I was thinking about using a larger brick pattern and possibly have gray clay/bricks.
What's up everyone? Got a quick question I'm sure you guys can knock outta the park for me.
I finally got Wild Grass/BetterLight-BetterGrass to work with this pack. Looked AMAZING. Then, just for giggles I switched my text pack to Gerudoku's. (Using MCPatcher) Minecraft played but no wild grass. I switched it back to LB Photo Realism and still no wild grass.
Wasn't sure exactly where to first post this question. Either here or over on Wild Grass thread, but this thread is usually really helpful so there you go.

Possibly reinstall the wildgrass. If everything else fails a clean installation of the game is generally reliable.

Very very nice pack, am loving it. I didn't think Minecraft could look so good :smile.gif: I agree the bricks could use some work, not a fan of gray bricks tho.

I'll try to figure something out. I might just retile the bricks to a larger scale so they are less of a pain on the eyes at a distance.

Hey thanks scuttles.
Just to clarify: If reinstalling the mod doesn't work, then try reinstalling Minecraft altogether?
thanks
d
Yea, usually a reinstall would fix alot of the issues that occur when changing packs/mods.
EDIT:
Updated the 256x256 pack with a few new changes.
hey bud I'm going to be brutally honest-
the only thing I like about the new update is the white wool.
the new torches went down in quality, the levers now have gaps in pixelation when viewed from the side, and the new wood is quite odd.
But I like the wool!
and is there any way to make the sandstone block look more sandstone-uniform the whole brick? the top seems to contradict the rest of the brick, if you know what I mean, it should be pinkish sandstone color with a smooth yet slightly gritty surface.
the superhigh-sky-highway is nearing completion, the measuring of the support beams is what is taking so long.
Also, I took a break to redo a couple of my courtyards.
Oh, and I like the bricks, I don't think there needs to be much of a change there.
and the clock has a row of pink pixels surrounding the viewing face.
The new door is completely out of place, it is a totally different color of wood. It doesn't belong in this pack. The old door was better.
Sorry if I come across as a jerk, I'm just trying to provide some constructive criticism. One thing I think I'd like to see in the next update is a change in the yellow flowers, they sort of blend in with the wildgrass mod. maybe something like a yellow daffodil?

Yea, laptops are most likely unable to run the higher resolution packs. I have one that can run the 256x256 on about 40 fps average and I certainly paid the price. It wouldn't have been worth it if I didn't travel so often.
Best of luck to your gaming computer.
Sad day. =(
Restarting the computer has always helped me when it decides to do something like that.
The only thing I can think of for that is your patcher is maybe out of date. That used to be a common error before they patched in the 256x256 to be more compatible.
Keep up the good work.
I will certainly try. ^^
SAME !! Black wool from white sheep. (x256 pack)
Haha, I'm quite flattered. Thanks for sticking with my pack. =)
I fixed that a while ago and will be released in the new update coming sometime today.
On another note. I've been debating on a different brick texture. The current one is kind of cluttered and I was thinking about using a larger brick pattern and possibly have gray clay/bricks.
What do I do?
D
Possibly reinstall the wildgrass. If everything else fails a clean installation of the game is generally reliable.
Just to clarify: If reinstalling the mod doesn't work, then try reinstalling Minecraft altogether?
thanks
d
Very very nice pack, am loving it. I didn't think Minecraft could look so good :smile.gif: I agree the bricks could use some work, not a fan of gray bricks tho.
I'll try to figure something out. I might just retile the bricks to a larger scale so they are less of a pain on the eyes at a distance.
Yea, usually a reinstall would fix alot of the issues that occur when changing packs/mods.
EDIT:
Updated the 256x256 pack with a few new changes.
idk if its because of the beta.. or w/e s:
Can you specify which error you get?
the only thing I like about the new update is the white wool.
the new torches went down in quality, the levers now have gaps in pixelation when viewed from the side, and the new wood is quite odd.
