Can i ask what am i doing wrong i´m doing the memory update and no matter what i put into java minecraft still uses only 495MB allocated memory plase can you tell me step by step what to do i have powerfull PC but since the memory i can run only 64x64 otherwise it crash immediately
Thanks for help
I'm not very knowledgeable with the whole memory thing. I'd say that the ingame allocated memory isn't correct what is actually being allocated. I know mine still says about 500mb (it might be 495 like you), but I'm taking up about 900mb when running the x256 pack.
I'd just try to allocated memory until you get the right about. I recommend starting at 768mb and moving up by 256mb every time.
Creepy, because the clouds are held in a separate .png, and those are from the items...
Also, Scuttles, I can't wait to test it >:biggrin.gif:
(Watch me get like 3-10FPS >:biggrin.gif:)
Oh and, I don't disappear - I check this topic every 1-2 days - I just don't post all the time anymore.
A subtle stalking. :wink.gif:
I'll try to get a public download out tomorrow. So far the bumpmapped screens look amazing.
Quick Question (hoping you answer) Do you mind if i use your texturepack to juts get all my textures in the right places, i promise not to make a remix pack (i meant for like the HD texturepacks if you don't mind)

Sounds good to me. I used a placeholder pack when I first started as well. =)

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Are you placing the texture pack in the folder and are you selecting it in-game. Also, if you are doing your own pack, make sure you zip it properly. Zip the contents and not the entire folder. =)

Just go look at it and tell me what it is :tongue.gif: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/434233-16-x173-tutorialsbycks-texturepack-v22/ .) and Sleep well.

I use this texture pack on my desktop. (the 256x version) Looks amazing, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the most realistic pack they can get.

If anyone understands a Kid Lazer reference, feel free to add me!
Lol I can't wait for the waves of spam stating "512x Isn't working for me :sad.gif:"
Or "LAG LIKE A MOFO!", When you release it. I can't wait though - I'll probably be able to run it :biggrin.gif:
Do you mean 2x larger than 256x? 256 X 2 = 512. 256x takes average 600MB RAM, so 512x would take 1200MB or 1.2GB of RAM. And 2048x would take around 4800MB or 4.8GB of RAM. 0_0. I also can't wait for Skyrim which comes out at the same day when Minecraft becomes full version.
You know, That is what I just can not figure out about my computer... with the 256x texture pack my minecraft is using nearly 2 gigs of ram... O.o maybe OSX and java just don't like each other at all... Although I am now able to run two minecrafts useing 256x at the same time. without any optimods or java tweaks. Anyone know how flymod works with the optimods?
But I am currently ordering 2 8 gig sticks for my computer and 16 gigs will be plenty of memory to deal with anything minecraft can throw at it, heh. I understand you have testers for the 512x512, but I was curious if you had any trying it out on OSX, I'd be more than happy to test it out if you'd be intresting in me doing so.
Specs:
2009 Mac Pro with OSX Lion
2.93 Ghz Intel Nahelm Xeon Quad-core
soon to be 16 gigs of OWC Ram
120Gig OWC Mercury Extreme Pro SSD
Edit!: I just installed the optimods and doubled the java memory allocation, I am now running at 150-400 fps only using 1GB of ram. and absolutely no lag spikes even at 5x speed flying. *Happy dance*
"And what have you done lately?" "Well... I've created two castles... A couple villages... Some Ships, well more like a navy... ok, ok, I've crated a world, that's what. What about you?" "Uh..."

Yea... XD
This release will be far from complete. I'm just letting everyone know. I have like 60% LBPR placeholders.
Hi, I like that pack very much but i noticed that cactus part`s don`t have texture on the bottom and cobblestone and stone look`s the same in inventory apart from that i`m very pleased with that texture pack :wink.gif:
Cobblestone and stone issue has been known and It's just something to get used to I really love how the two look together.
The cactus really wasn't/isn't and issue because I've never been able to see the bottom of a cactus. =(
I will eventually add one, though. Not to worry.
Thanks for the critique. I hope you stick around for the new pack I'm releasing today.

Hot damn... Come out of nowhere and leave us again? Rude. =(
Nice to know you're not dead, though.
Lol, yea... I was getting many messages about making a x32 and x16 for quite some time.
I have no idea...

Thank you. I'm really hoping it goes over well. ^^
Lol, yea it's quite a huge pack. I've tried compressing it which reduced the memory usage by quite a bit

Get optifog + optimine and turn the rain off! that should take the lag away.
or you could delete the image and minecraft will use default rain.
Scuttles, I love this pack and i even use the 16 and 32x ones sometimes :smile.gif:
I wish my laptop could run the 256, but 64 is good enough.

...Is that a mix pack? D=
It's for the mod wildgrass.
I've fallen in love with optifog/optimine myself. It has done wonder especially with mipmapping. ^^
I don't see why not. :wink.gif:
