I'd really like to try out this pack, but whatever ii do i still get the out of memory problem. I've followed the stepps suggested in the first post, reinstalled and configured java (i went up to 3gb of ram allocation) but nothing seems to be working. I've tried this with both 128x128 and 256x256 with more or less the same results.
I don't think that was a compliment... :/
Console Textures look like ****.
I completely disagree with him.
I say you claim Photo Realism and you achieve it to the second best ability in MC. :tongue.gif: (Second cuz no 512 >:tongue.gif:, but I understand your reasoning lol)
Lol, I've been experimenting with a x512 texture pack with Oblivion textures and I'm incapable of even running it anymore. I keep running out of memory. =(
I may keep working on it to see how well it can turn out, but testing it has proven impossible. Maybe I'll swing the terrain your way when it's more completed.
I currently have 1.7.3 x256 and was wondering what the grass is in the first pick; my grass does not look like that -could it be the Grass mod...thing?
I've used 3-5 different texture packs now, and nothing compares to your 256x pack. It LITERALLY transports me to another world. No other packs can compare to the epicness!!! Keep up the amazing work, and thank you for updating for 1.7.3 so quickly!!!
Hello, I love the pack scuttles. Can't play with any other texture pack anymore... Ruined me forever.
However I have been having a problem with the choppiness the 256x pack causes sometimes.
I've read through quite a bit of this thread and haven't been able to find anything that helps due to the fact that I am currently playing on a mac.
Its not that bad, I sit around 50-70 fps most of the time but every 10 or so seconds I get a very slight freeze, which gets very bad when I go 5x speed using zombe's flymod.
Comp Specs:
2009 Mac Pro
-2.93Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
-8Gb 1066 MHz DDR3 Ram
-ATI Radeon HD 5870 with 1024MB VRam
-Everything that has to do with minecraft is on a 120GB OWC Merucury Extreeme Pro SSD with a 3x1TB Raid-0 System Folder. (Don't know if that really makes a difference or not)
-OSX SnowLepoard 10.6.8
-64 bit java, most recent update.
Now I'm currently running a 100 Player Bukkit server with 40+ Plugins that is hosted in Germany (I am located in the eastern United State)
Would this be caused by a lack of hardware considering my processor does need a update, the graphics card is not the best, but its the best offered atm without getting two. Like I said its not all that noticeable. but it still gets quite annoying. Anyone have any ideas on how to tweak it away on a mac?
Any help would be fantastic, Thanks in Advance.

Unfortunately, I would have to say that it's the game itself. The flymod basically speeds things up and forces it to render chunks faster than the developers ever imagined. I believe there are some mods out there capable of creating a more efficient performance such as optifog/optimine. May be more, but I'm unaware of them.
Your computer is more than capable of running the texture pack just fine. I would say that it has nothing to do with it being a Mac. The limitations of Java are simply holding you back at this point. If the game was basically built on any other engine, I'd say you'd be able to play flawlessly with 100+ FPS.
Easy fix would be lowering the resolution as it will also dramatically increase performance. This does sacrifice visual quality, though.

Yeah, but the 256 is just too beautiful. Not going to happen. Thanks for the help, I'll look into the optimods and try to allocate more memory to java, see if it does anything.

I may keep working on it to see how well it can turn out, but testing it has proven impossible. Maybe I'll swing the terrain your way when it's more completed.
SEE IF YOU HAD STEAM WE COULD EASILY BE IN LIVE CONTACT AND I COULD TEST AND REPORT ON UPDATES AS SOON AS YOU MADE ONE.
Then I could easily test 512x512 for you :tongue.gif:
Doesn't have to be Steam, skype or aim would work too, but Steam is best >:biggrin.gif:

You can give the 512x pack to someone with powerful system for testing like mine. :smile.gif:
I have a question about the 32x32. I'm playing in browser (so no patcher), and there's a couple of glitches (Netherrack looks like water, water is invisible, pumpkins have lava faces), and I was wondering if that was my fault for not using a patcher or if there was some mistake in the terrain.png.
Post your specs.

Thanks guys. =)
It's a mod called the "wildgrass".
Lol, indeed. You've weaseled your way into this crew so you need an avatar. =)
Try the link at the top of the first page.
Quite welcome. Thank you for the support. =)
Thank you. ^^
I'm no pixel artist so touching it up is quite an agonizing process for me. Soon enough I'll have it polished. =)
I'll look into changing it. Thanks for the critique.
Seems like you're not using the HD patcher. It won't crash the x32 without it, but anything above will crash.
Sorry I wasn't around. Glad you resolved your issue.
Haha, excellent. Wasn't around to help you this time, Dragosh. =(
