I need to know how much memory I need for LB photo realizum, becuase even with 1000000 MB memory STILL RUNS OUT
I doubt you have that much memory. XD
Anyway, I would say anywhere around 3-4GB has been working flawlessly for alot of people.
Have you tried allocating more memory to Java using the top link at the first post? Also, 64bit Java is extremely helpful if you have a 64bit computer.
Please leave some constructive comments on your least favorite aspect of this texture pack or something that needs changing so I can get a general consensus of the people for the next update.
- It's a little dark
- Glowstone kinda hurts my eyes tho :blink.gif:
- And you probably can't change this but with the tool textures being 2d the other side looks odd and out of place :sad.gif:
Notch is creating a the new lightning system, and torches will give off a warmer colour light, night will have a blue-ish hue, so at least there is colour information in the lightningsystem, sounds like a improvement and may have some potential for GLSL uses.
And yea Dax has been rather busy it seems, he just appeared a few days ago again after beeing gone for weeks. (as the 1.66 version of GLSL is a unofficial one not made by him).
And besides one screenshot ages ago i haven't heard anything about the other project.
Also, that iron texture looks quite nice. I want it.
Awesome! That's sounds quite promising for the GLSL shader folks.
I did notice a while back that he didn't update the 1.6 himself. Although, I think he planned it that way so he could focus on his other projects more.
Ok, so my problem now is this. I cant allocat any more or less then 768MB of memory to java threw the mcpatcher without creating a out of memory error. Maybe one of you guy can help me to understand why I cant allocate more memory? There is also something else that bothers me.
just recently i upgraded from 2GB of ram to what i have now and I had the same exact issue witch I simply attributed to not having enough ram but doesnt it fallow reason that if I increase my total RAM I then should be able to increase the allocated RAM to java?

That would work except that i only have a 32bit OS CD.
Sorry, I thought I read x64 OS when I was panning through.
Hmmmm... Have you tried updating your Java? Also try to find the "sweet spot" when allocating memory. I always say start with 768 and then increase by 256mb until it seems to work.
Install 64bit Java if you can (You need a 64bit OS)
Use the link at the top of the first post to allocate more memory.
Try a lower resolution of this pack
I think the toomanyitems mod takes up just enough memory to set people over the edge and caused them to run out of memory. This results in the white box issue. =/
Thanks for the help, I am like an idiot when it comes to computer/java/stuff like that :tongue.gif:
sure i send it to you when its done. i only have the feet left. looks little wierd but i may update it later then i start a forum and such. i dont know how to send a picture but maybe i find out how.
Hey, I just got photo realism today and i'm in love with it. But when i get on, items like tools, buckets, redtone, and other things in my inventory appear to be thin white rectangles/boxes. I've downloaded the latest patcher and patched, but still happens. Am i missing something?
Hm I think I might have a little problem with this Texture Pack. And I only realized it after seeing Screenshots of how it should look like, and compared those to mine.
I am speaking of the sides from Grass Blocks. They all appear in grey to me instead of green. Can anybody tell me how to fix that?
Thx a lot!
That is caused by MCPatcher (usually in conjunction with ModLoader or a handful of other mods). You can re-patch your game, and in the MCPatcher uncheck the box next to where it says "Better Grass." You will lose the green on the sides of grass blocks (the top edge will still have grass hanging down, but the entire side won't be green).
I've been using this, and I think it looks great. I have a few things of my own personal opinion though that I am not a fan of. I do not like the crafting/inventory screens (crafting table screen too) It seems dark, hard to see the items, it just seems like its not up to par with the rest of the textures. Its got good detail, just too dark and hard to see items IMHO.
The water, might not be something you can do anything with. The water looks great at close up, but at distance, just looks, not sure of the best term, grainy? flickery? I almost prefer the original.
I just downloaded it and am very impressed. Only one problem... my toolbar... just white boxes?? I also just joined this forum so i'm not sure what to do.

I messed around with Java and patches, changing this that and the other... don't have white boxes anymore but can't stay connected... and now I can't log-in at all.

Other than that it's an amazing HD pack
Dark was what I intended.
Hopefully the new lighting that Notch is adding in 1.8 will remedy this issue and have proper lighting for better realism.
I'll change the glowstone. I agree entirely with you. :wink.gif:
Unfortunately, I can't do much about the sides of items. =(
Thanks for the input. I really appreciate the help.

Well, time will tell. ^^
Your r welcome... yeah i do hate the tools being 2d but still im glad the glowstone can change :biggrin.gif:

64bit Java silly. Download it. =)
Yea, tools will always look ugly, I feel. =(
I have a few refreshing ideas for glowstone I hope everyone will like. Nothing to show for it, but many ideas in my head.
I'm hoping by Friday I will have most if not all the fixes/changes as well as the compressed versions and a few alternative terrains to download. =)

Excellent. Can't wait. :wink.gif:
Glad I could help. Did you get your issue resolved?
Edit: nvm, i got it

Challenge #3 Accepted.
WOW!
im speachless :ohmy.gif:

1TB memory ftw! (or ftl in his case?)
