I need a USB Drive to put Win7 in so I can boot from it and install.
I could just put it on a blank cd, but I don't have anymore blank ones and it would be cheaper to get a USB drive than to get more discs... plus the drive is reusable.
It's not a driver issue...
The main problem I'm having is the Windows Installer is corrupted.
I tried registering it again, and the registry is fine.
The installer module itself is corrupted.
I would just reinstall Windows Installer, which would be easy-peasy if I were on XP, but on Vista and 7 it's built in and there is no external installation package for it.
It wouldn't be that big of a deal, since I have almost everything that relies on MSI already installed...
But with the corruption, .NET FRAMEWORK decided to hitch a ride.
So now I can't play any GFWL game unless I get it working....
That and I need to install a program to mod my phone, and that program relies on MSI too...
Yeah... You NEED to get a USB
4GB one's are cheap-ish.
I just installed the 128 version and it's looking good. Thank you for this.
I have only one problem so far.. after 20mins or so of playing I've encountered an texture error. When I open the furnace or chest etc. I get a transparent or white GUI with only my objects showing. (I cant see the slots). How can I fix this?
Sorry if this has been posted before but it's a looong thread :tongue.gif:
Length Is my fault.
You're probably going out of memory
Do you have a 64 Bit computer?
Nope, it's 32.
And as a second problem.. my game is lagging bad. Not all the time but in burst of 3-5 seconds. :sad.gif: I've tried setting the priority to high but to no avail. Help :sad.gif:
scuttles dont wanna rush the 1 that is doing the bumpmapping. (cause some1 else did it right?) but when is it coming out? well doesnt really matter anyway. just gonna wait. THX, you are so fast i have been working on the creeper skin for like 2 days its kinda good. dont know how its gonna turn out who...
I'd like to see the skin when you're finished with it if you don't mind. =)
The bumpmapping is coming along great so far. I contacted him last night and he had made more textures for it. It won't be long now. ^^
Using the same process I use with other texture packs, I download this zip, put it in the appropriate \AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks folder, load game, go to the option to change texture packs, it finds it, and is selected, I go to launch the game and the game client shuts down after loading textures. Same for SP or MP.
Running win7 64 bit on i7 930, 6GB ram, Radeon 5870.
Other texture packs load and work fine.

I can't determine too much from that. Are you using the HD patcher?
Also, you have a 64bit OS so install 64bit Java. That will remove alot of heartache in the future when the game starts taking up more memory.
Please leave some constructive comments on your least favorite aspect of this texture pack or something that needs changing so I can get a general consensus of the people for the next update.
Things I don't like:
*I don't really like the new stone texture. It looks like marble.
*Torches need work. The fire needs improvement and the torch itself looks...blurry.
Things that would be a nice aesthetic improvement:
*Iron blocks look too plain for decoration. They don't really look like a strong Iron block- more like wool.
*Mossy cobblestone would look better IMO if the moss was mostly in the groves between the rocks rather than slathered all over as it is now.
*Minecarts could use more detail
Nitpicking:
*redstone looks kinda like a tire track to me. maybe needs more of a dusty texture
*Clouds have a sort of vertical wall at the edges that looks strange but maybe this cant be helped.
Beyond that, everything else looks fantastic. Thanks for all the work you've put into this!
Tried updating java? Setting your java heapsize? And MOST importantly, installing 64bit java if you are running a 64 bit machine? Seems to solve 98% of all the whitebox/crashing issues, together with ofc, running mcpatcher =).
And here just another WIP screen of the GLSL,
-amazing-
Simply astonishing!
Is Dax planning on having real-time shadows or did he decide against it?

Thanks, mate. :wink.gif:
I really appreciate the constructive support.
On to my analysis:
-I'm already changing the iron/gold blocks for the next release. I was thinking about using something similar to the plating that I used for the pistons to keep it uniform with the pack. So do you think the bolted edges would be a good idea?
-The stone is something I finally got it looking the way I wanted. I wanted a marble/smooth appearance to the stone. I will have an alternate terrain with the old stone, though. =)
-I think I'll scrap my torches entirely and see what else I can make.
-Mossy cobblestone was intended to grow realistically. After analyzing moss for quite some time, having in the grooves simply did not make any sense to me. I may go over them in the future, but for now I'll hit the key points.
-Minecarts... Yea, needs work, lol
-Clouds can't be fixed. It's a consequence of having such a high resolution. =(
-Redstone dust is still a placeholder so it will soon be changed out. I just fixed the white line issue recently so I'll keep the current one for a bit.
Thanks again. I'll get on fixing some more things tonight. =)
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I get some white boxes instead of items. Like, I open my inventory and my pickaxes, logs a lot of other stuff is just white. I also use toomanyitems and when I open that up a lot of white boxes come up too.

A few ways to resolve white box issue:
Install 64bit Java if you can (You need a 64bit OS)
Use the link at the top of the first post to allocate more memory.
Try a lower resolution of this pack
I think the toomanyitems mod takes up just enough memory to set people over the edge and caused them to run out of memory. This results in the white box issue. =/
To do that he would have to build a intirely new lighting system due the current system not beeing capable of such a feature. He did once state a new lightning system was in the(future) planning, but since 1.8 will feature a new lightning overhaul...who knows :smile.gif: .
Fact is, if he would be able to implement that, the parallax would be far more detailed due allot of details beeing invisible due the lack of shadows currently. (The reason parallax occlusion works ingame, and simple bumpmaps doesn't)
Time will tell!
Well, that gives another good reason for me to get excited for the 1.8 release. =)
So is Notch coding the new lighting or are we talking about Dax making a new one?
Also, he had a side-project going that potentially was a Minecraft clone. I haven't been following the thread in the past 5-6 weeks so I'm way out of the loop. Has he shown/talked about anything on that?
Yeah... You NEED to get a USB

No kidding. I can't wait. XD
I would try reallocating memory via the link at the top of the first post.

Must have been missing 64 bit Java, yes I was using HD patcher. I installed 64 bit java, and all worked after that. TY for quick response.
this is only on 128x and 256x AND 64 CRASHES MY COMP.
