That's a pretty good FPS for a laptop. I've had mixed results with the optimine/fog mods. Some of my computers it does absolutely nothing (Almost seems to lag more) and other computers it beefs up their FPS and runs the game dramatically smoother.
Yea, I'm a sniper. =)
It's a great feeling when you hit a guy in the head 200ft away and scramble the entire opposing team.
Helps that I run Ubuntu as well.
Yeah, I'm kind of a CQB guy though i do have my sniper moments...

Linux/Ubuntu kicks ass. ^^
I always seem to stay back and try to pick off enemies even if I'm wielding a close quarters weapon. I probably should practice with CQB weapons, though.
Always helps to be well-rounded in combat, though I tend to stay away from machine gunners.
Anyhow, fantastic pack. The only thing is that looking around my world, it seemed too...noisy for my tastes, the tall grass messed me up. But, it is still very well done.

True enough.
An unfortunate consequence of Minecraft lacking any form of texture filtering. I'd recommend the mipmapping mod or the GLSL shaders mod to reduce noise. I'm unaware of any other mods that might help it so your options become quite limited.
Hey just so you know, for some reason Notch made it so the rain.png file is rotated 180 degrees in game when it's raining, I found this out for sure when I did this test:
One thing I do like in others texture packs that do in fact do this is 'light up the minerals" a lot. Sadly yours are quite dark. If you make them have a higher glow or brighten them up more that'd be great.
Other than that I love your texture package 'bundle'. It's a job well done :sad.gif: I just like seeing the minerals I harvest pop out, like DIAMOND! :smile.gif: I get so excited when I find them, but some of the packages I've tried int he past they didn't brighten them up.
Take a hue map tool and select the terrain photo and lighten it. I use Paint.net for texturepack related things and I would use it if I were you so the transparency stays.
You are very clever in graphical things Scuttles!!!!!!!!!! probably the best! :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif: :biggrin.gif:
On 1.7_01 version without Industrial Craft I have high FPS. My notebook shows about 50-70 fps (yes, it is) with 256x texture pack. Your 256x is really good (and not need high perfomance(?)) ! It have more perfomance than 128x (O_O, my own test with 128x i have 30-50, really).

Thanks. I'll change that for the next update. Their methods of creating this game are quite... astounding. =/
i love this pack using it everytime but i got an question does this support glsl shadder mod? its not on the mod list. but i have seen alot of people using glsl shadder with the texture... thx for the awsome texture!
I have a new guy working on the bumpmapping/specular lighting, but all of the other aspects of the GLSL shaders mod should work with it.
it works for me just take away the texture pack from the texturepack and then start the minecraft and then put the texture pack again and use the patcher. it worked for me! hope this help.
I just tried that and it didn't work. :/
EDIT: Oops! I forgot to use the patcher!
EDIT AGAIN: So which patcher are you talking about?

But thank you for trying it out. =)
EDIT: Nevermind
Did you run the MCPatcher?
Best of luck.
To answer your question. They are all white because you've either ran out of memory, have a conflicting mod, or the patcher broke something.
The best solution is trying the link at the top of the first page.

Are you using the HD patcher?
Thank you. =)
I haven't had time to actually mess around with the latest version (1.7.2), but hopefully it's more efficient and smoother than the last update.
I'm not sure as to why it would do that...
I just tried that and it didn't work. :/
