Try allocating more memory to Java by following the link at the top of the first post. This is a common issue with the new 1.6.6 update of Minecraft and it's rather annoying.
I haven't been around to test it yet, but I'm pretty sure that a few extra frames won't do much harm for it. Are the textures already in 256x256 resolution?
Those ones I posted are 256x256, but the generator can handle any resolution you need. Also, am I correct in interpreting your post to mean the number of frames is variable? I had assumed they were somehow fixed or something. Again, I'm no texture pack expert, I've only done one remix before.
If you want, I'll generate flame images at whatever resolution and frame number you want, and post them here. Of course, feel free to generate them yourself if it's more convenient for you. :smile.gif:
Looking at the images in the pack, am I correct in assuming that animations are just .png files with the frames in successive vertical tiles? If so, I could give you animations in that format instead of a .gif. I don't know if the extra alpha bit depth is an issue for you.
What configuration of computer need for normal FPS with 128x and 256x version of your texture pack? Because with 64x version I have about 40-60 fps, with 128 - 0-1 fps. I measuring fps with Java option -Xmx2048M, Xmcgc
In 1.5_01 this pack worked fine.
Now, in 1.6.6, It gets the out of memory error.
Probably coz of my 32bit laptop.
Not only that, but the 1.6.6 update uses alot more memory for almost no reason. =/
I'm hoping that 1.7 won't be this memory intensive so that there won't be issues like this.
To try and solve your out of memory error, use the link at the top of the main post.

I'd say 4GB or RAM minimum for the x256, but I've had people say that 3GB works as well. Also, remember to install 64bit Java if you have a 64bit computer. =)
hey i have downloaded the 256x256 version and have hd modpatcher. I tried it with -Xmx800M and then go up to -Xmx3200M and it won't work what can i do?
Is that normal that it won't work with 3,2G RAM ?
Pls help
Nah, this pack probably uses 1.5GB of RAM maximum. I've had spikes peak that much but drop down shortly afterwards. What are some of your computer specs? Have you tried using one of the lower resolutions?

Sounds excellent.
Yes, the tiles are simply vertical and are based off of which resolution the pack is so it's really a simple conversion from an animation to a strip.
I'll try tweaking and trying to get the fire to look just right tonight and thank you so much for this. =)
Hmmmm... Are you installing the wildgrass mod at all or just the textures? I don't have the mod for download on my thread so you have to follow the link to the modder's thread.
I'd say to try another method of installation if you do have the mod installed already. I personally use the "client" folder of wildgrass as it utilizes the textures already present on the terrain.png. Just insert all of the class files into the .jar except the terrain.png and it should run it properly.
If you want to go the modloader method, then use the modloader terrain folder in the wildgrass download.
To be perfectly honest with you **** came up. When I finally was about to get pro Mediafire, I realized my credit card was canceled due to inactivity. I'd have to go to the bank and get a new on which should come in the mail "7-14" days later. :sleep.gif:
Thank you for being a little more respectful this time around. =)
I'd try a lower resolution to possible remedy the issue. What are some more of your computer specs so I can see if I can try to get a better heap size for you to try?
I'll get around to fixing my torch flames real soon. I have alternate biomes which increase the colors for the grass to give it a richer feel. It's an interesting concept richening the pack so I'll see what I can do. =)

Lol, thanks. ^^
That was one of my favorite little tricks that came out quite brilliantly. Thanks for enjoying it. =D
All I know for my computer specs are 2 gigs of ram and I'm pretty sure a dual core chip, and Lower resolutions don't work:/

I'd say get some more RAM. The x64 may be able to work with a bit of troubleshooting. I'd try allocating 768mb of memory to Java using that link in the top of the first post.
I use this pack in 256X exclusively now on my desktop. I am a huge fan of your work! Nothing else I've seen texturewise even comes close to the quality of these packs. I know some people hate attempts at realism in minecraft, but it is def. my preference. Thanks for filling minecraft with more awesome!
:/, it works without TMI, is TMI compatible with this texturepack? Because it works fine without it, its just when i try to play with TMI, I get the white box issue.
You're welcome. It's good to see my scripts getting used, especially given that I might see the result every time I play minecraft. :smile.gif:
So far I'm really enjoying them. The only downfall is when I'm burning entire forests I notice a significant decrease as oppose to the slowdown of the current texture. It's probably a worthy sacrifice, though. =)
Hey Guys,
I'm new to this forum and i have a problem with this texture pack.
First of all : It is hillarious! But as i played in the multiplayer on the localhost, all diamond tools (and maybe armorment i did not test it) appear as a white square. This does NOT happen in the singleplayer Mode
Thanks a lot for useful hints
Hmmm... What are your computer specs? I know multiplayer uses more memory than SP so switching down to the x128 may be helpful to you as well.
Scuttles I hope this will be my last question :biggrin.gif: Sorry for that :biggrin.gif:
Ive downloaded the file : ejhopkins_WildGrass_v14.3 .
In the readme is called that this mod for the 1.5 version is.
Well, I'm now in trubble because there are many folders : client;clientreset;modloader;modloader_terrain;server;server_reset;
Please! :smile.gif: What I'm now have to do?
Thank you for your Support :smile.gif:
Easiest way to install is doing the "client" folder. Copy all the .class files into the .jar and leave the terrain.png alone. Start the game and it should work. =)

TMI will increase the amount of memory that the game uses. It may result in the white box issues. =/
Scuttles, Wish me luck, I'm going to try and install Windows 7 on my other computer. *If it fails, I can just re-download Ubuntu, and install it again*
----EDIT----
Holy... It did what it did before, didn't install my network/video drivers... So I asked a friend about it, he directed me to gateway support, I installed the drivers, and it works.. :biggrin.gif:

Just for fun, I've made a Chinese version of your texture pack. Nothing is changed except when breaking a block, it counts to ten in Mandarin (with both written form and pronunciation); great for learning! Best used a few blocks underwater.
Skuttles, you've made some huge advancements in your pack since the beginning. I'm sure you must be very proud. When are you planning to make the bubbles bubblier, though? When you go into the water and the bubbles show up, they look a bit plain and disproportional. :smile.gif:
So I decided to give the Yogscast compilation a try and get it working with the 256 version of this pack. I managed to get it all working fine except the item icons for the items added in the Millenaire mod don't show. It's not a huge deal for me as it's just the item icons (their descriptions show when you cursor over them) but I was wondering.. how difficult is it to tweak things so that they are showing? It seems that it's the HD patcher that's wiping them somehow. Is it a huge task?
I don't mind digging in and figuring these sort of things out but just wondering if anyone knows about these things could give me an idea of how difficult it is. I don't want to spend a ton of time to find out it's almost an impossible task. I absolutely love the Millenaire mod to death but this 256 pack has spoiled me to death and I can't play without it.
edit: spoke too soon, 2.1.0_02 doesn't cause the conflict. I'm still curious how difficult a job tweaking item icons is. I know how to edit the terrain.png and the basics of the minecraft.jar contents but that's about it.

I have 4 GB of RAM. And without Minecraft I have only 2.2 GB of RAM free. I make max heap size 2 GB (64 bit Java). With 64x, Minecraft use about 790 000-800 000 KB of RAM (Task Manager, javaw.exe).
Just wanted to say how much I've loved your pack. Been using it pretty much since I started playing the game. Amazing work all around.
I have come across a couple ores which I think would suit you pack and may or may not be a direction you want to go in. Not sure how much enthusiasm you have left for working on your textures...especially things you've already finished :smile.gif: I know you've been doing it for a while now. Anyways, here is a texture for gold that I think is just brilliant and I could just imagine what you could come up with if you decided to go this route.

May have been down temporarily. It's back as far as I can tell.
