First time using an HD texture pack. Wow. Excellent work. Of course, all the buildings on the current map I'm playing were designed with the Painterly cobblestone "brick" texture and colours in mind, but I'll just have to get more inventive now.
The only thing that put me off were the flames, which looked...bouncy. I know it's tough to animate decent flames, but I've created a script for the GIMP that can generate looping, animated flames for you. Here's the link If you don't want to install GIMP, I'll give you a quick overview of the steps so you can do it manually in PS.
Here's an example with and without alpha. (the seeds and options for these two were different, so they are different shapes)
I'm not sure how many frames the minecraft animations take (or need), as I'm no texture pack expert, but if you can, feel free to just use these images directly.
Oh, and more minor nitpicking, cause I'm me. I find the interface is a bit noisy. it's hard to determine where the interface stops and the items begin. Is there a smoother alternative interface?
I've got a problem when entering the world:-\. I install the texture(256)(also the mc-patcher) and I enter the game, I put the texture, the menu looks awesome and... I enter a world and everything looks.. hmm how to say.. with colors, like green, white. I mean the color itself a block..not ur texture:(. If you don't know what I mean I'll put some screens. I tried with the 128x one and the same:\. Please, could you help me:(?
OMG I love this texture pack so much! It gives everything a really great feel. Love the clouds especially! You have the bug where clouds disappear when braking glass though :wink.gif: but no biggy. Keep up the great work!
Forums are back up. So here's what's going to be happening this week:
Entire overhaul of the items.png and polishing up the tools/weapons a bit more.
Adding many additional content including the old stone texture.
Finished up the side project for the most part so I have more time for this pack.
I've installed the mipmapping mod but it does nothing. The GLSL shaders mod either doesn't like me or I'm not doing something right. Everytime I go into full screen the game is all warped and stuff lol.
Yea, I personally don't use the GLSL shaders at all for the sake of my computer not exploding. XD

I'm not sure if I can fix that glitch. I believe that is hardcoded last I knew.

The only issue with these fire textures is that they consist of a huge number of flames. I can test them out to see if there is a significant drop in fps or not, though. Thanks. =)
Yea, running this with normals with a 2g ram machine wasn't the best choise ever...fps was fine..untill my memory was full and i spend 15 minutes closing down the game =P.
I used to be able to use this texturepack back when i had windows 7, but my dad put Windos XP 32x and now i'm getting the "White box issue" And i tried the java heap size change and it didn't help, does anyone have any ideas or know how to fix this?
Hey i love your texture pack Scuttles, everything in it looks great, but i dont really like the torch flames, and i think you should make an alternate pack with richer colours, eg, i like my dirt and grass dark but rich in colour, i could probably help you with it but im not good with high res above 32x textures :S

The script will allow you to change the number of frames, so you should be able to set it to whatever you need. You might also get better results by editing the dimensions of the fire to be somewhat different. It can do that too. I'm not sure exactly what would be best though, possibly just wider and taller.
So still no direct DL months later? Shame.. you promised soon months ago..
I really don't want to feed you but...
Theoretically speaking, don't you want to earn a few bucks off of a texture pack that you put hard work into instead of just putting your time to waste? I don't see why you're still trolling this topic, the support here has been excellent and clearly you're the only one here who believes otherwise. Seeing that you come on this topic frequently; wasting your time trolling, how can you not give up 5 seconds on adfly if you already spend time posting worthless replies? Why do you even post here if you dislike the texture pack and the creator of it? Seriously pointless;as said before, your name is extremely ironic. Mind your own business before the ban hammer smacks you silly.
I just downloaded this pack not even 5 minuets ago. Saw it, fell in love with it. Even though it lags like h*ll for me, but from what I saw, YOU DESERVE A FREKING COOKIE! Brilliant!

Why you be a minen' in me mines? If you need to contact me, a private message is the way to go. I almost never come back to a topic after I've commented on it.
Lot of good stuff in this pack, but I had to drop in to say that the heat shimmer on your lava looks amazing. Makes me want to crank up the fan on my video card. :laugh.gif:
Scuttles thank you for your message, but it doesn't works.
I've downloaded the Wildgrass mode from the first page of this texture pack topic. The Name is LB Photo Realism Wildgrass.
In the data are 3 folders : x64 Wildgrass ; x128 Wildgrass and x256 Wildgrass. Im using the texture pack in x256.
Do I have put the folder x256 Wildgrass to minecraft.jar? or the folder in this x256 Wildgrass which is called : "wildgrass".
Do I have anything to do with the MC HD patcher ? or what?
I've tried two ways and both folders individually inserted and tested. But, unfortunately, nothing happened.
Hmmmm... Are you installing the wildgrass mod at all or just the textures? I don't have the mod for download on my thread so you have to follow the link to the modder's thread.
I'd say to try another method of installation if you do have the mod installed already. I personally use the "client" folder of wildgrass as it utilizes the textures already present on the terrain.png. Just insert all of the class files into the .jar except the terrain.png and it should run it properly.
If you want to go the modloader method, then use the modloader terrain folder in the wildgrass download.

To be perfectly honest with you **** came up. When I finally was about to get pro Mediafire, I realized my credit card was canceled due to inactivity. I'd have to go to the bank and get a new on which should come in the mail "7-14" days later. :sleep.gif:
Thank you for being a little more respectful this time around. =)

I'd try a lower resolution to possible remedy the issue. What are some more of your computer specs so I can see if I can try to get a better heap size for you to try?

I'll get around to fixing my torch flames real soon. I have alternate biomes which increase the colors for the grass to give it a richer feel. It's an interesting concept richening the pack so I'll see what I can do. =)

I haven't been around to test it yet, but I'm pretty sure that a few extra frames won't do much harm for it. Are the textures already in 256x256 resolution?

not sure what you mean by that. but theres only 4 png files in the item folder

Everything? Even this texture pack?
I'll look into it. I'm trying to not take textures from other packs anymore, but I'll look into it for inspiration.
You should insert the entire "wildgrass" folder located inside the "x256" folder into the .jar
Everything. Give me all yer monehz and texture pack files.
I'm a texture pack pirate.
Arr matey I see you.

Place the wildgrass folder inside the minecraft.jar (second photo)
Be sure to have wildgrass mod installed as well.
Thank you.
Yea the x256 does get a bit overwhelming on smaller screens. The graininess increases by a bunch. =/
